Diner Reviews
  • "The service was good and friendly, but the food left a lot to be desired for the price. Additionally, we booked two weeks in advance - yet still were seated with our backs to a main server station. It was very uncomfortable."

  • "The salad bar had an amazing spread. Not very kid friendly but my kids loved the bread. The meat selections were amazing! The servers game around frequently and we loved that the managers made their rounds asking if needed anything. When we told one that we hadn't tried the ribs, they made sure the server came by our table. It was a very busy evening, tables very close to each other, not a quiet romantic environment but my kids loved it! Would definitely recommend, make sure you come hungry! The location was perfect too."

  • "This restaurant (and others of its type) feature "all you can eat" of a variety of beef, chicken, port, and lamb cuts simply grilled and simply delicious! Although Texas de Brazil is known for its meats, it features an awesome, fresh, salad bar that includes South American specialities."

  • "The food as always; very good. Our server; she was great!! The staff overall; awesome. The only thing negative to mention, we requested, due not having been offered, the beef ribs, a part of the menu. Getting the ribs served to our table, needless to say, it took far too long."

  • "Although the food was good, the atmosphere was very impersonal and loud. The hostess seemed bored and the servers were rushed. One bright point was the bar....great drinks and the bartender was helpful and friendly. We will probably not return."

  • "Everything was perfect. Best salmon and lamb chops we have ever had. Waiter was wonderful and so attentive. It was truly a great exprience"

  • "If you love to taste as many flavors as possible when dining, this place fits that need. The salad bar is fabulous; the cheeses and cured meats are a meal that would satisfy any taste junkie. The hot meats (about 10 selections) were just delicious. One of us likes her meat as rare as possible, which she never gets. Here she got her choice of at least 5 different rare beef selections. She was a happy eater. It costs a lot, but you get a lot. If you don't eat much at a meal, don't go there. We were there when it was about 1/3 full, and the meat came out beautifully warm and spaced perfectly, as we were hungry, the meat came. Had a problem with sangria, too sweet, they took care of immediately. Nice job! Fun night of dining!"

  • "When heading for the great selections at the soup/salad bar, remember to save plenty of room for the delicious and plentiful selections served for the main course. They were very accommodating in presenting beef cooked to our liking, as all four of us prefer beef that is at least "medium" or more well-done. And the desserts (if there is still room!) are also great. Our server prepared a "Happy Birthday" plate for the member of our party who was celebrating it."

  • "The food quality is very good, and the service was warm but often unavailable. The biggest downside is that the place is exceedingly noisy."

  • "This was a very cool & different than the typical restaurant. I went with a group of 14 to celebrate a birthday. Our reservation was for 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, we didn't get seated until 9:10. I realize it's a busy night but that's the whole point of reservations right? It was tough standing with cake, gifts, & 14 people. After we got our salad & sides the meats just kept coming. It felt like we were being really rushed. It was overwhelming to have so much food brought to the table right after we sat down. The food was very good though so it's hard to give this place a bad review. Maybe, going on a weeknight might have been a better first experience for everyone so we can manage our chip flipping (green to red) better."

  • "Food and customer service were excellent. Only cons are that the tables are a bit too close together and noise level was high... many times I couldnt hear our sever. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place."

  • "Went on a thurs Day night not very crowded the waiter was slightly clumsy but other than that the salad bar was spectacular the meat choices some were dry , the house beef was very good, though I have to admit we are going to go back again we're going to try Saturday night see how it is. would definitely recommend it."

  • "Had a VERY early reservation to beat any rush, the salad bar was fantastic, and the meats were excellent, even would take the time to come back with well done cuts if requested. Our server ( not the Gaucho's ) was not as attentive as we would have liked, water, pop, bar drinks, bread, plates etc. We went for a birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. Can't eat here every week but great a couple times a year!"

  • "I, not sure what it is about eating this style but I have tried it from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas and it has always been good food. The problem is I don't know when to stop."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "The dining room is more like a cafeteria. You are seated - brief intro to the cuts, and then wished the best of luck to go to the 'salad bar' - 12 tables in proximity to the front door so unless you are seated in the back you constantly feel cold air. Wine list is far from diverse and grossly overpriced. Upon arrival the hosts acted as if they were being bothered to seat you. Thank god for our server - who was the only inviting portion of this eatablishment."

  • "Took a lovely girl out for our first date here and had a blast. Food was great and the drinks were strong! A bit noisier than I thought or I'd have selected a different place for my purpose--don't regret it though."

  • "We were seated next to the hostess stand, and the doors were wide open. It was freezing. I wore my coat the whole time. The food was good, but the steak does not come around enough. I could smell the body odor of some of the servers who were cutting the steak, which was unsettling. The servers were really nice, and my water was always full, but I expect top notch service for $45 per person. It seems as if they just try to pack as many people in there as they can. The waiters/waitresses do not come around that often to check on people. Luckily, the food was really good."

  • "food was great. desert was great. waiters very attentative..poor was the way they staked everyone so close together..i felt like we were eating with 12 other people..was very tight moving around salad bar as well..for 150 dollars i wanted some privacy"

  • "Food was good, alittle pricey, only down fall was that the rest rooms were out of order. So we had to walk across the street (in the snow) to use the restrooms across the street in the mall... Yuck"

  • "Was disappointed after having high hopes for this brazilian steak house. In particular, the salad bar area was lacking. I enjoy sushi at the Brazilian steakhouses and this one had almost none (one option: california role)."

  • "I have been to several Texas de Brazil's and have always had a fantastic meal. The salad bar is unique, high end and plentiful. The gaucho service is unique and the meat its h high end, good quality and delicious. Come hungry so you can enjoy everything. We went with a large group of friends and everyone enjoyed themselves.February"

  • "Meat servers did not come by unless we stopped them or our waiter begged them to bring us meat. We sat there all night and did not get very much meat. I have been to many Texas de Brazil restaurants and this was by far my worst experience."

  • "We had a wonderful time! Service was awesome! We were to be seated by the door, with 2 babies, and it was freezing outside. We asked to be moved further inside due to the cold breeze from the door. The staff was happy to accommodate us. They were also very polite. The restaurant was noisy, but we were there for new year's eve, so I thought it was fine. If you want something more romantic, this probably is not the best place. The food was delicious! The restaurant is pricey, however you do get your money's worth. I could have just ordered the salad bar and been full."

  • "The salad bar was excellent, but who wants to fill up on salad at $50/person + the cost of dessert (which was superb) + parking. The choice of meats was also excellent, except for the size of the portions. The side dishes were nothing to write home about - FAIR at best. We were seated at a table so close to the salad bar it was a nuisance whenever another patron went to it. Our main server was very accommodating with a pleasant.personality. All-in-all, the cost of the meal, in its entirety, was too high for the dining experience. I've enjoyed a better bang-for-the-buck in the exact same style of restaurant elsewhere."

  • "We went here during restaurant week- usually with restaurants during restaurant week they have a limited pre fixe menu. Texas de Brazil does not do that- they have the same food as usual AND they added a dessert to it! The service was exceptional- they anticipated everything we needed without being bothersome; they were very professional and took great care of our table. We have been here twice now for special occasions and we will definitely be coming back in the future!"

  • "I knew from reading the description of the restaurant that it was all you could eat but wow! The salad bar alone just about filled me up and the variety of meet from medium well to well was just astounding. Everything I tasted - even meats I do not normally enjoy - was good. While some things may have been a bit too salty for me, the flavors were bold and different. If you're a meat and potatoes person this is the place for you. Bring your appetite!"

  • "After eating at Texas de Brazil you'll refuse to ever pay $60 for a piece of meat at the Capital Grill / Ruth Chris / Morton's ...etc. for $50 a person you get all of the best meats that money can buy sided with potatoes cheeses and pastas. Great date place, perfect for small or large group parties. Not enough good things to say! I'll choose TdB over any steakhouse in Pittsburgh. 10 out of 10!"

  • "My fiance and I went to Texas de Brazil this past Saturday. They were having a special for restaurant week in Pittsburgh. The normal price is $45 per person, which is steep and only includes the food... no dessert. During restaurant week it is $35 per person and includes a choice of key lime pie or bananas foster pie. We thought it was a great time to try it, so we did. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened. It was already fairly crowded, but not too bad. We were quickly seated, explained the concept of the restaurant, and were told to start at the "salad bar". It had many other things other than salad! The meat was incredible. SO many choices. Pretty much by the end of the night, we were both put into a happy, blissful meat coma!"
