Carlos, our waiter - was a big WOW! Very knowledgeable (all his information and history was on point, professional, wonderful smile - an asset tp Texas de Brazil. • "My husband and I came here (7/12/14) to celebrate an anniversary. We saw couples, families and groups of friends enjoying themselves. We got a great spot by the window upstairs and enjoyed people watching throughout our dining experience. I came when I was 8.5 months pregnant and the servers noted this and made my experience super accomodating. I only mentioned once in the beginning that I wished for well-done meat and that was the only meat brought to me. It was pretty cool. Our server in particular checked up on us when needed and made sure we had enough of the cheese bread because we kept gobbling them all up! The garlic mash is definitely yummy too!"

  • "The food is quite amazing. I have only 2 complaints: First, this is a spacious restaurant. As such, it takes quite some time for the meat servers to make rounds. Second, the restroom is not enough. They have a one-person restroom, which given the size of the restaurant is certainly not enough, especially when they are near full. You may have to wait some time."

  • "Went on a weekend and paid full price. Prices were discounted from Monday to Thursday. My guess is that business is not good at that time. Meat is of top quality and the food bar is exceptional but given the price it could have more expensive offerings. Quantity is large but how many types of olives do you need? How about octopus, calamari, deviled eggs, clams, mussels, etc. The price warrants a better selection. We also found that the meal moves along too quickly. It is best to order a drink and wait a bit before going to the food bar. The slicers and servers are quick to offer what they are carrying and the meal tends to be over in less than an hour. Service was wonderful and if you can really pack away the food it is the place for you"

  • "The service was great. Everyone was friendly. The ambiance was spectacular. The food was good and tasty, but I wasn't able to try the filet mignon because they didn't bring it out. I guess they only bring it out every hour. Overall, I would come again. The salad bar has fresh food, and the lobster bisque was delicious."

  • "The staff was what made the evening special. The food is quite fresh and attractively presented. The manager was a problem solver. The restaurant had a chic crowd and the meat carvers were all top notch."

  • "The meats are the star, but the salad bar shines in its supporting role in the Texas de Brazil show. The sprawling, two-story, family-friendly space packed a decent crowd at 5:30 on a Sunday. Standout salad-bar offerings included pineapple carpaccio, seared tuna, sauteed mushrooms, salami and prosciutto, grilled gorgonzola, and shrimp. Some tables are very far from the salad bar, but close to the floor-to-ceiling window. As expected, the meats are fantastic, and most are served medium or medium-rare. It's not a cheap meal, but we'd much rather have this in the neighborhood than California Pizza Kitchen (the former tenant of the space)."

  • "Texas de Brazil was outstanding! We hadn't tried this one, but did frequent the one in Aruba. This is by far superior!! Food, drinks and service were perfect. One could not ask for anything more. We were all (6) very pleased. Also, there were 2 children, and they were catered to, too. It was a beautiful evening."

  • "If you are looking for a fun night with friends, this is the place. If you enjoy a huge salad bar, this is definitely the place. The meat that is carved at your table is done to perfection. I recommend this restaurant highly."

  • "There are better chirascarias in town. The service was ok. The meat wasn't fantastic. The salad bar isn't centrally located and we were on the opposite end of the restaurant."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "This is a nice addition to the East side. The BEST salad bar!"
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "Great selection of meats, including chicken, sausage, pork and beef ribs. Salad bar was so-so. This place used to be a CPK and layout is a little awkward; nice quiet place for meatlovers with no bar scene."

  • "We had come before and loved it. We had found this restaurant to be far superior to Fogo De Chao and were very excited about returning. We dined on 05/15 to celebrate my promotion and were really looking forward to it. I am the General Manager of a restaurant in the city and for me to rave about a place means a lot. I called the manager over and explained my disappointment and showed him the massive plate of overcooked food. I showed the waiter the glass of water and said it was probably just soap residue, for my girlfriends benefit, to which he responded that it clearly was not soap residue but we could not figure out what it was. "

  • "I have been to this chain in another city (Chicago) and was excited to try it again in NYC. What a disappointment! The food lacked taste, the salad bar was in disarray and appeared "dirty" and the service was horrific. We waited 26 minutes between the first lamb chop and the next "meat" that was served. It even took five requests to get a check to leave."

  • "Love it! Brought a large group and all enjoyed it. Can't wait to return when my pocketbook permits!"

  • "Good food!! Just too much to eat. Go hungry if you go to this place."
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "Our waiter went above & beyond to suit all our needs & questions! I highly recommend coming here although the prices may be a little steep for the general public. Would definitely come again! Meat was great although sometimes a little bit too raw for my tastes."

  • "Basically $60 for all you can eat. Food was terrific with a huge salad bar with noise being the main issue. It was unbearable and totally ruined the experience. I think they made a major design flaw with the ceilings as there is nothing to absorb sound. It wasn't helped by a completely obnoxious birthday party (probably 20-30 disrespectful people completely oblivious to everything around them) going on at one end of the restaurant. I could not hear my girlfriend sitting across from me and we couldn't hear the staff when they came by with the meat so we were left guessing for the most part. Maybe an off night but be forewarned."

  • "As a Brazilian, I had a healthy skepticism prior to dining at this local Brazilian steakhouse gem. I was pleasantly surprised to find the meat true to form, lathered in Rock salt and served juicy and promptly. The salad bar had unique and plentiful offerings and did not disappoint. The waiters and staff provided friendly, accommodating service, the kind you don't usually encounter without shelling out hundreds. The chef takes some liberties with traditional food items. Overall outstanding!"

  • "I've been to this restaurant once in Aruba many years ago. When I saw it opened in my area I couldn't wait to take my boyfriend. Or server was great! Very thorough about everything, including the meats served. I'm a picky eater so this was a great experience for me to try some of everything. My boyfriend who is far from a picky eater loved everything. The chocolate cake for dessert was amazing! Deff save room for dessert if you can manage!"

  • "My wife and I found this in an ad in AM NY. Glad we decided to go here. The service was very attentive, great ambiance, great food. Will definitely return. Go to their website for photos of the food. Salad bar was awesome too. Had a black bean soup to die for."

  • "I came with a good friend, that I had not seen in along time. Although there were many tables in quiet areas, they sat us in a very crowded area, with big parties. They were having fun but were very loud. It was difficult to talk and catch up as we would have liked. However I love the food and will return. I just do not understand why we could not be seated in an area that we could talk. When I asked to be moved, Ian was told it was not possible."

  • "This was the first time our family experienced this type of restaurant. The salad bar of 50 items was outstanding and delicious. If only we could have gone back more. We didn't so we'd have room for the steaks, etc. The lamb, beef selections brought to our table were terrific. Our entire family left stuffed. The different choices were excellent. If you want meat that is cooked more than medium rare, you have to ask for that, which takes a few extra minutes. We did this for our children. Definitely a terrific night. We will save it for another celebration evening!"

  • "Their aren't enough good things I can say about Texas de Brazil. Everything from the decor, staff, manger, server and of course food were incredible. I've wanted to try Brazilian food forever and this was a great introduction. I enjoyed everything I ate. Even just eating from the salad bar would be great if you don't eat meat. The manager, Antonio, was very personable and answered any questions I had a long with my server, Kim. I left stuffed with great food and drinks as well as a lot of knowledge on Brazilian food and the preparation. I enjoyed the authentic Brazilian mix with an elegant NYC flair in a great location. Easily one of my best dining experiences in NY. I speak highly of the steakhouse since and definitely will be back soon."

  • "Good: Meat was very good, service very good also. So So: Salad bar not as extensive as in Plataforma Bad: They charge $30 for a 7 year old to eat, and $40 for the buffet only. No lunch pricing."

  • "We were a party of 3 women in our 30's celebrating my friends B-day by stuffing ourselves silly. The meats were excellent, and there are just too many opportunities for puns when you have handsome men walking around offering you their meat or sausage, ha! The salad bar was scrumptious, salad bar is not really an apt description since there is fish and hot food as well. You could easily make a meal out of just that. This is a slow dining experience, expect to rack up a tidy bill sipping cocktails, but take your time so you can sample all the delicious meats they come around with. We really enjoyed ourselves and despite not having any men with us, were treated honorably and professionally by the staff."

  • "This restaurant is brand new and I have been here 3x already because it is that good. I love the variety and kids eat half price. It is $60 per person but to have a huge salad bar and filet mignon, lamb chops, steak and as much as you want is so worth it esp. when you can pay that much for a single steak in NYC. The staff is so helpful and the place is beautiful and great for groups. I enjoy this place and will be coming back time and time again."

  • "And all you might ever want, but figure on $85 per person with a single cocktail!"
