Diner Reviews
  • "Enjoyed this restaurant a lot. The service was excellent and the food was enjoyable. The only risk here is that thry bring so much good food so quickly that you can easily overeat."

  • "To all meat Lovers, this is a must go. I always go for brunch on the weekend because it can get quiet heavy if you eat so much meat at night. By far one of the best Churasscarias out there, great salad bar too. Best cuts for me are the flank staeak and the house special piccania!"

  • "Face it, you have to like meat to enjoy Texas de Brazil. They do a really nice job each time I go, and I'll keep going back. The gauchos circulate with a wide variety of options. Food is generally well prepared, although sometimes a little salty for my tastes. Servers are attentive and if there is something in particular you're waiting for, they'll make sure it gets sent over promptly. It may seem a little expensive at first, but it really isn't when you think about all you get."

  • "Texas de Brazil is a typical Brazilian Steakhouse. The salad bar was great, but if you get too much, you won't be able to eat what you came to eat - the meat!!! After the salad bar AND other side bar that had some rice and beans, au gratin potatoes and a few other things, I was completely full! I tried maybe 3-4 meats, just a bite from each and was too full! My FAVORITE thing was the au gratin potatoes - the BEST I have ever had - do not pass them up!"

  • "Though I have been here several times, I took a friend here for the first time. As always, they never disappoint and never fail to satisfy."

  • "Excellent selection of different kinds of meat (steak, chicken, pork), plus truly varied and excellent salad bar, so would even recommend this place if you have vegetarians in the party."

  • "Food is awesome and the restaurant is an authentic churrascaria, just as good if not better comparing to churrascarias in Brazil."

  • "While the "salad" bar is decent, people need to realize that this is a meat market on steroids. These gauchos pushing their meat at each table are trying to unload ~ if you're green, they'll pile it on. If you want to lower your cholesterol, don't go; if you're got high blood pressure and on a low-salt diet, don't go; if you're trying to eat more fiber, don't go. This is for us Fred & Wilma Flintstone and the Barney & Betty Rubble diners. Admittedly, I LOVE the place, since I'm on all these pills from my doctor anyway... The lamb chops are worth the wait; tiny, but so good in the mouth. The caprinhas are weak, so you'll want to bring a flask of cinchaca to kick it up. Make lobster bisque your opener and your closer. It's that good!!"

  • "Alex is one of the best servers I've had in recent memory. He was very very knowledgeable. Had some fantastic suggestions with regards to wine selections and was just a complement to our meal. The food here is good, but I didn't really feel that I got my $$ worth. When I pay (with wine) more then $55 a person I want to feel like the meal was crafted by an expert. This is decent food, but it's meat on a skewer mostly."

  • "Our party of 3 had a lovely lunch. One suggestion though. Please turn down the music. Restaurant very LOUD. Very nice servers."

  • "Texas de Brazil has always been a place we loved to go to for special occasions and to treat ourselves. This time we were disappointed in the salad bar items and in the meats. We felt the quality has gone down since we were last there. All the pork and chicken items were overcooked, the rib meat tasted like chemicals and your choice of beef seemed to be very rare or totally charred. The beef items were not that tender. The sirloin was pretty good so we stuck with that. The restaurant was so noisy at night that the waitress had to literally yell questions at all the tables in our section and repeat herself to be heard -- so you heard every question at every table. If we are going to spend $100 for a steak dinner we will go elsewhere."

  • "I have been to two fogo de chao restaurants (Baltimore and D.C.) and a Texas de Brazil in Richmond. This establishment was not as good. The au gratin potatoes from the buffet were ice cold and we got there right as they opened for dinner on a Friday night. Some of the meats were not as excellent as my past experiences. No coors light available on a Friday night. I'm beinging picky but for $45 a person everything should be excellent."

  • "Took my daughter here for her 16th birthday. We had reservations for 7:45 and arrived 15 minutes early but didn't get seated until just after 8:00. Don't understand why a table wasn't ready for my reservation time. Service was not great for the amount of money we spent. At most brazilian steakhouses, the servers are constantly at your table with different kinds of meats, but it took a long time between servers and they kept bringing the same kinds of meat over & over. The food was very good though."

  • "My wife and I have enjoyed other Texas de Brazil locations in Denver and at Tyson's Corners, both excellent restaurants. The location at Fair Oaks, however, offered poor service. The waitress disappeared for so long we chose not to enjoy dessert. The meats were cold and the salad bar was heavy on lettuce but not much else. Perhaps this is the new standard for the chain. We won't return, instead, we will visit Fogo de Chão. Thank you."

  • "As usual, the food and services were outstanding. The meat guys were a bit slow and we had to ask fro certain cuts of meat twice. The price is a bit steep but the quality of the salad bar and food remains some of the best in Fairfax. They do offer an unadvertised Military discount. BRAVO to them."

  • "Didn't even know that this place is right in my backyard. It sits right in Fair Oaks Mall tucked away from everything else. The food was fantastic....and plentiful. Our server was always there when we needed her. Very attentive and professional."

  • "The service and meat selection are exceptional and the buffet options will satisfy even vegetarians. I would definitely recommend it, the quality is very high and the waiters and meat carvers eager to please."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Texas de Brazil! Each type of meat was deliciously prepared and the side-dish offerings complemented them wonderfully. Make sure you go with an empty stomach, as it's virtually impossible not to overeat. We took my 2 year-old son and were happy to find out that children under 3 eat for free. With the high price tag for adults, it was a relief to know that we would not have to pay for all-he-could-eat, which was not much."

  • "Next time I want a meat fix I will do Ruth's Chris or Mortons. Overly salted meat. Side dishes nor replenished often enough. Was noisy and too many big parties. Several screaming babies and too many kids. Know you cannot discriminate, but there is no class in this place. No dress code, people dressed like they were going bowling. Was not an enjoyable or relaxing evening at all. Took FOREVER to get cocktails. This place has just lost it. like I said, if you are going to spend this kind of money, go someplace else."

  • "Although there were SOME tasty meats, the salad bar was very disappointing! The veggies were cold and very undercooked."

  • "There is no denying the animal rendering is good, though a bit salty. The service is typically on spot, even if ours on this visit slipped and welcomed up to CheeseCake Factory :) No doubt she recently changed jobs. The salad bar is very good and those that don't eat beef or pork can find a nice selection on the bar. My issue is price. I simply can't eat $50+ of food, of any kind. Personally, I would never go here on my own. The two times I have gone it was on the asking of someone else, who really likes the place. Me…it's okay but there is better fare at a better pricing elsewhere."

  • "I visited the Fairfax location on New Years Eve. The place was packed but the servers managed to keep up. Joaquin, our server was so awesome. Very kind, helpful and patient. I will certainly be back."

  • "My husband and I dine here fairly regularly. The quality of the food is always up to par and the wait staff and servers are also worthy of praise. However, at $50 a plate (without drinks), we expect a certain level of dining. I am unsure what happened on New Year’s Eve, but it was like a day care in there. We were surrounded by screaming, unruly children who had no business being in this type of restaurant. We were utterly disappointed that Texas de Brazil allowed this. Perhaps a little situational awareness would have afforded the common courtesy to seat families with children in a different section than couples who were trying to have a quiet romantic evening. Every couple dining was dumbfounded by what was taking place."

  • "I have been going to this location for almost a decade, and with each passing year I feel that it gets a little worse. The sides on their salad bar have become more limited, the quality - and taste - of the meat seems to be suffering as well as the nicer cuts of meat tend to have become limited in availability. Also, if they sit you towards the back or in a corner, ask to be moved - otherwise you will never get adequately served and just neglected - which has happened to me numerous times. I've been to many different steakhouses and Texas used to be a cut above the rest, but now I feel is only worth slightly better then half their price tag. This may sound like a negative review, but I do like the restaurant just not as much."

  • "We have never had a bad experience here. The service is great and the food is even better. I've written reviews of this place previously so I won't bore you with all of the details. Although, I will mention that the beef ribs are the absolute best I have ever had in a dining experience. This hot, tender plate of bovine goodness is a "must have" if you visit this place. You may have to ask for them to be brought around to you, but that's only because they are so popular and in high demand. We'll continue to come here. They never fail in any way. Two thumbs way up!"

  • "Always great to visit this restaurant, one of our favorites. Would always recommend, but don't overeat (leave space for dessert)."
    Dined on 12/5/2013
  • "The tables are not generously big and packed tightly. It would be perfect if the whole restaurant was filled with one company's October fest. The meat is not gong round-and-round. You are mostly offered meat 'dishes' like Garlic-Steak, Parmesan-Chicken, Bacon-wrapped filet. The nice beef cuts are much more seldom, like the flank-steak. The top sirloin could only be called elusive. Compared to Chima in Tyson's there is no aspect in which they are not at least a category below (except for the price of course). We have been to TdB in Vegas which was much nicer."

  • "My husband and I have dined her many many times and went this past Thanksgiving for dinner. As always we loved the all of the meats and they made and amazing roasted turkey with peppercorn gravy that was to die for! The service is above and beyond and I dare anyone to say they have bad service here. The drinks are awesome and the lobster bisque is the best I've ever had. They are a big pricy but even though it's worth it, I encourage you to join their mailing list. They send great deals to make it a bit lighter on the wallet."

  • "Our waiter was attentive and accommodating. We visited on a very busy afternoon, and he did well attending to the table--e.g. asking if the food was to our liking, refolding napkins when we left the table. Though this Brazilian steakhouse is heavily focused on meat, there are enough well-prepared non-meat options at the cold and hot bars to satisfy diners that don't eat much meat. Sound level was quite high in the front part of the restaurant where we were seated. Was hard to carry on a quiet conversation, but it was Thanksgiving, and very busy, so perhaps not reflective of an average dining experience."

  • "My first experience here was for Thanksgiving dinner 11/13 with my Mom. The selection at salad bar and cuts of meat that were offered regularly was exceptional. They even served very moist turkey, cranberry, and sweet potato. The servers were very attentive as my Mom and I enjoyed our meat well done. We left very stuffed and satisfied after two hours! I'm definitely recommending to family and friends and would return again myself!"

  • "Brought hubby here for his birthday. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Could only find a last minute reservation at 8:45PM but was able to slide in at 7PM. He was wished happy birthday by the server when we sat down. Server was very attentive and hubby loved the meat. I'm a pescatarian, so I partook of the expansive buffet. There was enough on the buffet for the price, albeit it was a combination of pre-packaged items and salty canned lobster bisque - sans lobster. The smoked salmon and shrimp were even more salty - inedible. The salmon skin was like smoked sausage. The shrimp had an odd taste -- like excessive bottled seasoning salts. Baked beans had meat in them. The cheeses were very good and the veggies were fresh. It was ok."

  • "I've been to a few Brazilian Steakhouse and they all have something about them that I like. The best thing about this one is the lamb chops and the lobster bisque. They also have a nice salad bar. If I lived near the area I would go here again but imo the drive from DC wasn't necessarily worth it."
