We had probably one of the worst experiences we've ever had at this location. There was no major incident, it was just overall shockingly bad. In short, the hostesses acted as though they were paid to be rude little snots, there were only 5 meats brought to our table - chicken wrapped in bacon, Parmesan chicken, skirt steak, bacon wrapped filet and the house special cut steak. I asked for my meat to be done med/well. Why was I ONLY brought these refired, burnt, bits of blackened meat by gauchos rolling their eyes constantly!? We're not demanding, only one special request (temp on meat) - we're pretty self sufficient. There was no reason for the attitudes that were rampant that night. This was definitely our last time.

We've been here several times and recently it's been a little hit or miss. Some of the selections were so over salted/seasoned we couldn't even eat them. They fixed up some lightly seasoned but after a while you just lose your appetite and for what you spend here it should all be good, I think. We asked specifically for lamb chops and filet and it was pretty slow coming out. The salad bar is very good though.

Texas de Brazil, for me is only a special occasion restaurant. The cost is high and to get your moneys' worth you have to eat a lot of food. The meats are good, if somewhat over salted in some cases. The tableside service of the meats from scewers is unique. The salad bar is excellent and very flavorful. The atmosphere is very loud which makes it haard to carry on a conversation with others in your party. Sangria pitcher was excellent, though it had a lot of ice in it, so it became watered down very quickly. Not sure we will be dining there again anytime soon.

Foods are really salty and even we request for meat without salt still came out salty. This is our second try on this restaurant and we are thinking not to come back again as we don't want to have a kidney problem. There were at least 5 managers on this restaurant that I've seen but I don't know what wrong with their tastes buds as I'm sure that I am not the only guest who had the same complain.

The restaurant was great but the management staff is unprofessional and does not care about its customers. I would recommend visiting the other Brazilian steakhouses instead of coming to Texas de Brazil in fairfax. I gave it one star in some sections but zero was what they should have gotten.

The food at Texas de Brazil is very good and they keep it coming. If you don't watch out you can definitely over eat. I recommend not filling up on the salad bar yo uwill regret not having room for all the meat. One issue is they send you these coupons for your Birthday then put way down at the bottom in fine print that they are only good Sunday through Thursday. This is wrong, they need to make these coupons good anytime!

While it is certainly a carnivore's paradise Texas de Brazil offers an outstanding and diverse salad bar offering for all but the pickiest vegetarians. Attentive service and bottomless portions in a classic if somewhat dark high end restaurant setting has made for many consistently satisfying meals for me and everyone I have taken there over the last few years.

The food met my expectations (I had high hopes). Fresh, interesting and very tasty. Our server was very attentive but didn't check in with us toward the end of our meal. We sat there waiting to be noticed for over 10 minutes after we finished. I had to wave her down to ask for our check. The problem with this is she was not busy. She had at most 4 tables in her area that she spoke with. We were there for an early dinner. Also, we told her it was my birthday but she made no effort to make the dinner special. I thought she might offer a small dessert or something. Nope. So though the food was really good I hope we don't have her for our server again.

  • Salty Meat

    Dined on 8/26/2014
This was the 3rd and last time that we gave this place a chance. We had forgotten how salty the meat was since our last visit had been a year ago. However, this time, there was no mistaking the extremely salty meat. If you don't die from sodium overload instantly, you'll be forced to drink a ton of water for your body to balance out all of the sodium in their meats. I've been to other great Brazilian barbeque places but this place just has just had super salty meat...everytime.. We thought maybe it was just a bad day for the cooks or something and maybe a few months and even a year spacing would give us a different experience. We will never be going back to this place ever again. Though I must say, the little bread balls were delicious!

Having eaten there before, I was expecting great food in a terrific space, and we got both. The salad bar is awesome, with mixed greens and other "standard" fare along with incredible, unique items including marinated mushrooms, tabouleh, and other delicacies. The meats? What can I say? They are magical. I think my son ate his weight, and we all tried everything. Delicious! The desserts, which we ended up taking home, were fabulous. The only down side is that the price for beverages (coffee, tea, etc.) and dessert are high, and there are not "bottomless" cups. Wow, did that add to the price! All in all, though, I'll certainly recommend Texas de Brazil to others and I'd go again--but next time, mentally prepared.

You have to pace yourself and the temptation is to eat too much. Go easy on the great salad bar and soup. Enjoy the house wine at 29 dollars a bottle was excellent for the cab we had. Lamb chops were the best but so was most everything else only complaint was the garlic mashed were not warm enough but surprisingly the lobster bisque was hot so you never know. All I know was I ate too much great food great service. We made reservations but still waited 20 min for our table. First time dining here and would go again. Plan to spend $75 per person with drinks and tip add another 25 if you want dessert. Expensive but worth it!

I think their competitor in DC salad bar is a little more creative, but also more pricy. I love this place for a birthday, or out of town friends!!! Love the cheese bread and sweet plantains

Having lived in Brazil and loving the Brazilian style of cooking and serving meats, I go to Texas de Brazil to enjoy a close version of that experience. While the salad bar is excellent, it's the unlimited supply of meats on skewers brought out constantly by the servers that is the attraction. Meat lovers rejoice!

This was my second time to bring a group and I particularly noticed the commitment to quality of the foods - especially the meats. Prices were higher than a few years ago, but I would rather pay more than lower the food quality. We were seated next to a loud group, so we had difficulty understanding the table servers (or each other). I observe that the accoustics of the room increase the noise level rather than soften it. It's a great place for an energetic business or family group; but don't expect a calm and quiet dinner. We enjoyed our dinner and will return.

We have been to TdB several times and always find the staff to be fantastic. If they see your plate empty they will ask if there is a specific cut you are waiting for and then they send that server over to your table. I marked this as good for children as their is sufficient background noise to not cause Mom & Dad to cringe every time their little one gets a little loud.

Did not like my experience here at all. Even though I had a reservation, I had to wait 15 minutes. It was so noisy in the restaurant that I could not hear the waitress explain how the things are done at the restaurant. I thought the wines were way over priced. The bottle of wine that I ordered was $45 & I can get it at another restaurant for $15 or $20 less. My wife had a birthday gift card that the restaurant had sent & in fine print, it said it could not be used on a Saturday. Of course, we were there on a Saturday. Any time a gift is given, it should not have any restrictions on it. On a good note, the meats were excellent.

We went to dinner with family and have dined at Texas de Brazil in Fairfax on several occasions with good experience, this was not case on this evening. We ordered drinks and after 25 minutes my husband had to go to the manager to find out what happened to my drink. The waitress never brought over and had left it sitting at the bar. The waitress was difficult to understand and it seemed as if the gentlemen distributing the meats had lost their way to our table or perhaps our table was invisible. Anyway we will try again and hope for a better experience.

Having lived in Brazil and traveled back there in the past few years, I am pretty picky about Brazilian steak houses, but continue to go back to this one. They have some special Brazilian cuts, such as "picanha" - sliced sirloin with a beautiful crust, and tender and juicy beef ribs, among other things. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and tables are fairly close together, but even when crowded the service was very good. Be careful to not fill up at the fine salad bar before, as the meats are the main attraction. Most frustrating is that they have a pretty good dessert selection, but we are usually so full that we share one for the whole family of 3 or 4. Great wine list too. Recommend this for family celebrations!

Loved Texas de Brazil. My only complaint is the tables need to be larger or the hostess should not sit a party of 8 squeezed into a table. When they brought the meats around everyone had to move plates and bodies leaning into the next person and out of the way to let them use the table to cut. If we had just a little more space it would have been way more enjoyable. The food was great and we had a nice time.

We've eaten at Texas de Brazil many times, always for dinner. This was the first time for lunch. The lunch menu as essentially the same as the dinner menu. We had a 1:30 PM reservation and arrived at 1:29 PM but were not seated until about 1:45 PM. We were seated at the same empty table that was open when we arrived. I'm not sure about the delay as no explanation was offered. There appeared to be many open tables and guests were still waiting in the lobby. The food, both at the salad bar and the meat served at tables, was as expected - tasty if slightly over salted meats and poultry, excellent salads and soups, wonderful black beans. The food was great. The service was as expected - the waiter took drink orders and delivered them.
