  • "The food was very good and our waiter Hardy was fabu. I will note that some of the "servers" are young men that do not understand that you only ask someone if they want any of the item you are bringing around if their "Green" card is up. I had my "Red" side up and was constantly asked if I wanted something they had - they need to pay a little more attention - they are new they will catch on. Everything was perfectly cooked, the dessert was delish (carrot cake!). On the down side - we do all pay the same price and some of the cuts of meat they slice were paper-thin and hard to grab with the tongs - it wouldn't hurt them to give you a little meat with the slice - so I don't have to keep asking them over."

  • " I have been eaten at this restaurant four times since it opened great each time. I went with a friend and her teenage son. needless to say he was very impressed by all the food. to really enjoy this restaurant you should take you time and savor each aspect of the meal staring with the salad bar/ hot bar. At 42.00 dollars you are in for a dining extravaganza and it is all you can eat. remember take you time enjoy the food and conversation. I also suggest you only drink water. Sodas are $4.00 for an 8oz bottle. Not into beef or pork the salad /hot bar can be purchased separately for about 25.00 a few of the items on the bar are lobster bisque soup, ,salmon, sushi, black beans and rice and sauteed mushrooms."

  • "I can't count the number of times the servers passed my table when our cards were turned to green. I had to repeatedly ask our waitress to send the beef rib to our table and it still took 20 minutes to get to us every time."

  • "The salad bar was OK. There were some unique offerings. Prosciutto, sushi, smoked salmon. But mostly, it was an iceberg salad and a spring greens salad with three or four dressing offerings. The lobster bisque was pretty good. Very creamy, but tasted just barely burned. The red light/green light system was completely disregarded. Throughout the rest of the meal, it was a constant interruption of gaucho and management traffic at our table. We felt it interfered with dinner. Every beef entree I tried was overcooked. We were told that medium rare is normal, but higher temps can be requested. I didn't receive a piece of beef under medium well. The lamb chops and Parmesan chicken were ok. The leg of lamb was actually very well seasoned."

The only slightly unpleasant thing was the floor; it was incredibly slippery in heels!! Other than that, I could not have asked for a better dinner, and I can't wait to come back."

  • "Me and my wife eat here for our 3 anniversary, they sat us right by the front door, when I say front door, I mean front door, I could probably touch the front door with my hand from where they sat us. The Restaurant was very loud! It's just not a Romantic environment, all the tables are bunched together, We asked for a booth they said they don't have booth seating at all, I guess because they have to crave the meat for everyone at the table. Over all I give it a 6 out of 10 for the food, & service. Its just not a place to take a date or to do the special occasion but if your just trying to eat and very hungry and have money to burn, because their not cheap $170 for two. Me and wife with 2 drinks and shared desert."

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. The key is to pace yourself with the salad bar and with the meat! Follow the waiter's advice to flip your card to red from time to time and take a break. You should plan for your dinner to take several hours if you don't want to leave feeling as full as we did! The leg of lamb and lamb chops were my favorite cuts, with the filet not wrapped in bacon coming in at a close 3rd. The smoked salmon on the salad bar was cooked very well and the lobster bisque was very creamy. My husband loved the real strips of bacon instead of tiny bacon bits to put on his salad. The garlic mashed potatoes are super creamy and delicious too. The staff was very friendly and we definitely plan to go back!"

  • "It was the first time for my husband and I to visit the Birmingham location. We frequented the Memphis location and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Birmingham location was lacking in a couple of areas: noise level and floor plan. The noise level was too loud. We were having to raise our voices to hear one another. It took away from our "romantic dining experience." The Memphis location does not have this problem. The floor plan was exceptionally cramped. There is one route that the hostess uses to seat people. This happens to be the same route for which the diners use to get to the food bar. It seems like the tables are crammed together."

We didn't know whether to pace ourselves and eat slowly -- or rush to cram as much in as possible before our brains realized how much our stomachs were consuming!"

If you want to try all their meats, you have to have a well-wrought eating plan in place. My wife chose the light dinner and was also happy like a clam.   • "Whether you just opt for the salad bar or go in for the full gaucho experience, you're in for a treat. Personally I thought the mean was a little bland and getting it to your table cooked exactly how you want it was a little bit tricky. We arrived right when it opened and most of the meats were rare - medium rare. BUT! As the night went on, the meats were more medium - medium well which is exactly how I like them. And, there are sauces on the salad bar that make the meat taste absolutely awesome! The salad bar had everything on it that I could want. From different kinds of cheeses, cured meats, sauces, dressings, and even lobster bisque, sauteed mushrooms, and steamed asparagus. I could've gone there just for the lobster bisque!"

  • "We have been to Texas de Brazil a couple of times with a group of friends, and the food is always top notch. Everything come to the table mid-rare, but they are very gracious in cooking up something specific if you, for whatever reason, (mine being pregnancy) can't eat your meat that rare. Service has always been top notch. My only issue came with this last visit. Several people in our group ordered alcoholic beverages, and I ordered a virgin drink. They all got theirs, I never received mine, though I asked several times. I'm not sure what was going on, like I said, the service has always been top notch. I didn't make a big deal about it, and we didn't get charged for it, so no biggie. We will definitely go back."

  • "I would have preferred that all meat be cooked medium to medium well rather than their current protocol of cooking medium to medium rare. We were told we could special order medium to medium well, but it meant taking longer to cook. They were very kind to accommodate our requests. If the food instead could be prepared med to med well then the special requests could be med to med rare, etc and take less time to cook for those special requests. This is just my personal preference."

  • "The salad bar is very good. The wine list is limited and you won't find a sommelier at this restaurant. The meat I had was too salty by far and most of the meat was well done. When I asked for medium rare, I did receive it. It seems as if there is a learning curve associated with dining there in order to figure out what and what not to expect."

  • "Texas de Brazil is like dinner and a show all in one. You not only get a wonderful meal but you have some very good looking men bringing you meat that they carve for you right at the table. The sirloin is great. Salad bar is magnificent. It has an array of delicious flavor. It not only has salad but various cheeses, olives, shrimp, smoked salmon, soup, bacon, etc. It's not just a meal but an experience. You must go really hungry it is all you can eat. I highly recommend it."

  • "I had a friend recommend this restaurant to me after he had dined there just the week before & I was really looking forward to it. I did enjoy the food but the staff should be aware of their surroundings and watch for customers in obvious need. During the middle of our meal we could not locate our server. We had sat for over 20 minutes with our main meal finished looking around for some assistance, finally a gentleman in my party went to the bar to ask for a refill of tea. then and only then did someone finally come to our table to check on us. The managers returned a few minutes later to let us know that they too could not locate our server, apparently he had walked out on the job. The managers were quick to jump in and finish the job."

The salad bar was very fresh and had a great variety of greens, etc. The gauchos were constantly at our table asking if we wanted to try the meat they were serving. We tried so many different meats, and all were GREAT! Everyone was so nice too. Great first experience. A little pricey, but definitly worth it if you're ready to eat and sample a lot of food!"

  • "This was a B-Day gift for my husband. We were both excited, lol. The inside was a comfortable yet upscale restaurant! We don't drink, but even the bar was nice! The guys bringing out the food were VERY NICE, RESPECTFUL & WELL MANNERED, EVERY TIME they came to the table! There was so much verity at the salad bar, I couldn't try it all! I'm NOT a seafood person, but the shrimp bisque soup was REALLY GOOD!! But the best part was the meat coming out!! EVERYTHING was tender & had so much flavor! The juices & the seasoning were to die for, lol. My husband wanted to come back the next day, lol... WE WILL BECOMING BACK with friends & family!! Thank you for this first experience!!"

  • "This is a place where you can try many different foods in as large or small of a portion as you would like. The salad bar and hot bar are very up scale and quite delicious. The atmosphere was nice but loud. Our server was not very good. We told him we had never been there so he needed to guide us through. He never brought my husband tea so he just drank water, he had forgot to leave the green/red meat chip, we had to continually ask for plates etc. It was not vety busy but he didnt seem very focused on his job."

  • "My wife and I had been meaning to go to Texas de Brazil in San Antonio to celebrate her graduating from Air Force basic training but we weren't able to make it so when our 1st anniversary came around I jumped at the chance to take her to the newly built Texas de Brazil in Birmingham. First off let me say that this is a very good restaurant but there are a few minor things that could take it from very good to a truly great restaurant. First off, the website claimed to have a salad bar with 50 plus items. However, there were only 20-30 items. Music is too loud and you can't really hear the server explain how their system works or the person across from you. Turn it down a notch a two! Lastly, there needs to be a dress code!"

  • "I have visited this location twice now and both times the servers quit serving us meat after about 45 min. We were slowly savoring the pieces we got, not asking to have our plates piled high with meat, and so it was taking quite a while to eat. However, when you pay those prices, you should be able to take as long as you want. Besides it was a Tuesday night and not at all busy. I have been to Texas de Brazil in other cities and to many churrascarias in Brasil and this is the worst one I've been to. But since it's the only one in Bham I may go back when i have a beef craving."

  • "We had the worst service ever. It took over 30minutes before anyone came to our table to present and meats. Our server Jason asked if everything was ok I said no, he continued to the next table and did not come back to our table. A managing host asked how was things proceeded to tell him he ledt the table went to the table next to us and gave the man there a tour of the kitchen. There was a server by the name of Marcus who really tried to make it right, but by that time it was too late. Our waiter was completely rude and horrible. He never offered refills or anything. It took him over 15 minutes to bring me a coke and water."

  • "The moment we walked in the reservationist had my reservation and she knew it was my sister's birthday. As we guided to our seats, the hostess placed the napkin in my lap. The server immediately arrived at our table and took our orders for drinks. He was very witty and knowledgable about the menu (which he should have been). The food was fabulous, although I just ordered the salad bar but my sister order the various meats with their meal. The whole experience was excellent! I have been raving about my visit to my friends and co=workers. I will be back!!!"
