Diner Reviews
  • "One of the best italian restaurants in Toronto. Best service around 6pm before the lineups begin"
    Dined on 7/20/2014
  • "Due to evening engagements, we had to book a very early dinner with visiting out of country relatives. The food, as usual, was delicious, but, sad to say, many of the young patrons were noisy and frankly badly behaved. I love children, and having a few of my own I can honestly say that they always enjoy the restaurant experience, and think of it as a chance to show how grown up they can be.On Sunday night several young ones were allowed to run riot (literally) whilst their parents ate and chatted.Definitely not on for other people nearby. Not Terroni's fault, but it sure made our dinner a short and not so sweet experience.A separate dining area for families with young children would be a great idea!"

  • "Great service and food. Would recommend and go again"

  • "An oasis in the middle of the city. Energetic, vibrant, beautifully designed. A wonderful respite in a crazy world."

  • "It's always an issue with going out and finding something for everyone. They offer a great tasting gluten free menu! Great suggestion for our wine from our knowledgable waiter. We sat by the very loud kitchen but it was very entertaining."

  • "Terroni YONGE... never disappoints. Food quality is excellent and always consistent. Atmosphere is hip and energetic. Perfect place for many different occasions."

  • "My reservation for two and included a note that we would be two adults and one newborn baby/needed room by the table for a stroller if possible. My guest & her baby arrived first and the hostess was rude, argumentative & not accommodating. The hostess suggested that the reservation for two included the baby and didn't want to provide a table with two chairs. I'm sure you can see how ridiculous this is. The baby is 5 weeks old! Not to mention that I had taken the time to include a note in my reservation. A less than ideal start to a much needed dinner out for a new mom."

  • "Three us went out to celebrate our son's birthday. The atmosphere and service was exactly what we were looking for. Lively, great table on the patio and the food matched the evening."

  • "We were treated like royalty. Fabulous service and the food was fantastic!! We had fried stuffed zucchini flowers, a platter with prosciutto di Parma, caramalized pear with honey and nuts, specialty cheeses, olives and bruschetta with a pancetta patte. For seconds we had pizza. We had the "Noi" wine which was reasonably price and tasted great. We had the pleasure of sitting on the patio and that set the mood for a great night."

  • "I have never had a bad experience at Terroni. The patio is one of the best in the city. The food and service are excellent and I would confidently recommend this restaurant to everyone!"

  • "I have never been disappointed by the quality of food, as well as overall dining experience. The staff are super friendly, and offer great tips for picky eaters! I celebrated my birthday here, and it was definitely a special experience!"

  • "Not that great. Lots of choices but there are much better restaurants in the city. Over rated and unimpressive"

  • "We had a lovely dinner at Terroni to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation. We had flowers delivered and the staff were fantastic. The food is always amazing and we love the casual atmosphere."

  • "Absolutely wonderful. I often go back to this restaurant."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "What's the point of making reservations? They don't seat you unless all your party has arrived. Even though the tables were empty. If that's your policy, let your customer know on Open Table when you are booking a table. An awful experience. I live closeby and was a regular customer since they opened. I will never go back there or to any of their other restaurants again. A good example of a good brand breaking down at customer level."

  • "Don't you just hate it when you complain about food and the waiter tries to persuade you that's the way it was meant to be? When I complained of the burnt taste of my pizza and turned it over to show the deeply blackened bottom, I got a rather patronizing response that the pizza was supposed to be that way. Really! I had to insist it was inedible before it was replaced. I usually love olive oil on my bread, but this time I craved butter. Terroni doesn't offer butter. Hm, I guess it's not so much into catering to what a guest might want. And it's a long time since I hit a restaurant that no dirt cola! Really disappointing experience."

  • "Great spot to go with groups. We were 6 people and we very well attended. All of us loved our food and the service was very good."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Wonderful on the deck but they played loud, beat-heavy music so couldn't talk or hear across the table. After an hour still no food, not even bread. And this was the lunch hour! Two and a half hours later we we begging for a check. Couldn't find our so-called wait staff. The food was great, btw."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "Food was great but although it was not super busy the wait for someone to take our order was a bit on the long side as was waiting for the bill. Other than that, all was well."
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "The hostess managed to find a relatively quiet spot where we could carry on a conversation. Mezze of cheese and meats was excellent as well as pizza. Certainly enough for three small eaters to share."
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "I reserved a month in advance for father's day, 6pm. We arrived 15 minutes early. Every time I come here I am offered the crappiest table. Not sure what I have to do to get a good table here."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "We arrived a bit too late to snag a rooftop table, but the location, service and food were all excellent. Specials were outstanding and the usual pizzas were gobbled by children"

  • "This restaurant is great visually; architecture and decor have a lot of character, giving the place a great vibe. Nice gathering place for groups (loud). Nice looking patio, variety of seating and standing options inside as well. The food though, was only mediocre. We had the mixed cured meat and cheese plate as an appetizer. The only meat on the plate was prosciutto. It could have been purchased at Sobeys - there was no distinction in the flavour. Same goes for the brie and the hard cheese on the plate. The honey, olives and poached pear half were lovely though. My braised lamb pasta was awful - meat was tough little bits and "homemade" cavatelli was not fresh. Our server never smiled, and didn't do anything about the pasta complaint."

  • "A bad experience overall. They could not make a simple bar drink (as they wouldn't create anything that wasn't on the menu). I understand they have a no modifications menu, but with a food allergy, I think this should be taken into consideration. I asked to remove 1 item from my pizza (that I am allergic to), and they said no! Further, the waitress recommended an alternative pizza and it came with the food I can't eat. There are other smaller complaints. In the end, there are so many restaurants in the city that care about satisfying the customer while maintaining the integrity of their menu that I would never recommend spending money here."

  • "Went with friends from out of town! On the patio the atmosphere was great! Food and service is always superb!"

  • "great place to chill out on a friday evening - a bit noisy and cant have private conversations as the tables are squeezed together like sardines"
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Both the food and the ambience are very good but their inflexibility with regards to subsitution reduced their overall score. I understand that there might be situation where you are not able to substitute but they seem to be inflexible on all aspects from food to drinks. Please note that I would recommend this restaurant; however, one should know about the above."

  • "I have enjoyed Terroni for many years but the glow is fading. The service was cavalier and slow and when the waitress said that she couldn't do separate cheques (but she could do separate payments!), that just made me mad. Anyone who has worked in a restaurant or bar knows that restaurant software allows this. It may take a few more minutes but it's very possible. And it's called customer service. So when the bill came and an obligatory 18% tip was already added, my friends and I spent 15 minutes with our phones, figuring out all of our individual costs. I'm no longer satisfied with this level of customer service. If someone wants separate cheques and you can easily do it, do it. I'm going to leave Terroni alone and find some where else."

  • "Excellent food and service.. Very noisy atmosphere."

  • "The pizza combos were fantastic and because of the generous sizing, our party of four chose 4 different options and then we all had a little taste of each others. The starter Calamari that we ordered was fresh & tasty. The bonus feature was that the on site Sommelier matched a perfect wine to the "pear pizza". Although it was very busy the service was quick & friendly. Awesome night all around!"

  • "We came for bruch on a Sunday to the Bar portion of the restaurant. The patio was great and the menu offerings looked delicious. However we had to wait 45 min for our order. Once it finally came our food was great."

  • "Used to love the food ... This time very disappointing daily fish special of red snapper. Tiniest main course for $19, fish about 2 ounces, dry and overcooked, served on a smear of asparagus/potato purée with strange cold cous cous salad. Whole thing covered only a fraction of the plate and I had to eat bread and butter to supplement the small portion. I do not drink alcohol and requested tomato juice - they don't have it! Not even clamato juice! So I presume bar says no way if you want a Bloody Mary or Bloody Caesar! Server referred me to menu of soft drinks but all were sweetened sodas, so I had to stick to boring sparkling water. This not the neighbourhood gem it once was."

  • "Had a most enjoyable light lunch. The service was friendly, (despite reviews that I read) and efficient. Noise level was a bit high despite being seated in a booth. The warmed mushroom salad is outstanding. Good experience all around."

  • "Seriously this is real Italian food. the pasta is authentic, the pizza is authentic the lamb and veal are to die for. Wine selection is good and fairly priced, serving staff are super friendly, concise and quick. And the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely."

  • "We loved dining on your roof top patio - sunshine, great service, and an excellent meal made this special luncheon occasion a great success. Thank you!"

  • "I love this restaurant. The food is amazing. It is consistently good. The pizza's are fantastic and I also love the pasta bolognese. I highly recommend to anyone. But they are always busy. Reservations when they take them are recommended. "

  • "Terroni is a fantastic restaurant and helped end our trip to Toronto on a lovely culinary note. My boyfriend ordered the duck ravioli and it was spectacular! I ordered the sausage pizza and was wonderfully pleased (I am not a pork eater, but will dip into some spicy sausage every now and again and this pizza did not disappoint). I was also glad to see that although the menu did feature items such as the duck ravioli, the ambiance was not stuffy and pretentious, but rather warm and stylishly comfortable. The restaurant also boasts a spacious rooftop dining area that is very reminiscent of Miami Beach. Overall, Terroni was a fantastic find on our trip to Toronto and I definitely plan to visit upon my return to this sweet city."

  • "Overall our group had an enjoyable food experience. All meals ordered were delicious and service was fairly prompt. Our server was also friendly. Only downfall would be that Terroni's refuses to accommodate certain requests. For instance, a pregnant diner friend had a craving for balsamic vinegar to accompany the oil and bread, but they would not provide. I understand that when you have excellent quality of olive oil, you do not want to mask the flavours, however if a pregnant diner has such a request, perhaps bending the rules is called for. "
