I've wanted to try this restaurant for months so we booked a table early and went for our first wedding anniversary. On coming in it was warm and welcoming, I especially loved all the wood :) but then we were seated between two families with very young (very loud children) so things took a dip but I understand eating at 6pm is family time I just wouldn't have described this place for children from the outside. Drinks were swift, I had a terroni sour (absolutely delicious!!!) Then ordered the halibut special for my main (hubby ordered pizza) the food came quite quick after we got bread for the table (good bread!! Very good olive oil) unfortunately my fish was over done but still very yummy!! I'd come again (I plan to with a group for my birthday) but not early as to avoid too many children and hopefully the noise level.

  • Very Dissapointing
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Having been to Terroni numerous times and also happened to have worked there years ago, i decided to bring my out of town visiting Mother out for dinner with my wife and i. From the moment they brought us to the dark corner table which was dissapointing (since i made a reso) my gut told me this was not going to be what i had planned and i was right on. I ordered a meat board to begin and had a wine picked to go with it however the waitress came so late we were almost finished. After recieving the wine it was red and not the rosato that i had ordered. After questioning me if i had indeed ordered the rose', the gentlemen took almost 10 minutes to bring me the right wine and explained the producer made both different wines ( then why question me) I mean cmon if u mess up the first thing to be done should be to right the wronge.. not even a "sorry" from the wine steward or the waitress. I let it go and moved on. We ordered burrata full portion to be brought before the hot items of pizza and pasta, yet it all came at the same time. Needless to say when i went to taste the pizza and pasta they were already ice cold. To top it off i had asked for some salt for the cheese and rather than leave it on the table for us to season, she started grinding it furiously all over the cheese like it was ground pepper and ruined it (a $40 piece of cheese!) I didnt have the heart to say anything since i didnt want to ruin everyones meal by complaining about the service, but it was amatuer hour. I get that it is casual but things should still be done the right way with a sense of hospitality. I work in the business and would rarely write a bad review, but after leaving i felt very dissapointed and feel that you should know.

I ordered the Bufalina pizza and what a drag! Almost no cheese. It was a boring pizza crust with a not very flavourful tomato sauce and minuscule bits of mozzarella. Usually I have a better food experience at Terroni, but this time I felt ripped off.

Had an 8pm reso, arrived on time, was told someone else claiming the same name took our table and there were no other tables available. Had to wait 10+ minutes with no resolution from the host stand, asked for the manager and was given a table shortly after. No compensation. Awkward start, server very busy, had to flag down a bus person for culterly, water etc. Wait between courses and for plate clearing and tab unimpressive. Food just ok.

For anyone who hasn't been to Terroni, they have lots of rules - no changes or substitutions, they won't cut your pizza, no balsamic with your bread (only oil), and the list goes on. That being said, if you like what's on the menu (and I do!) they serve great Italian food, have tasty cocktails (try the spinosa if you like ginger) and the vibe is great.

Normally I love going to Terroni. This was a disappointing meal. First of all, it took twenty minutes or so to get our table. The appetizers were great but there some issues with the mains. First of all, my husband ordered a steak special. When it arrived, the potatoes had bacon in them. Nowhere did it mention this on the menu and we don't eat pork. I ordered a sea bass that had absolutely no taste. It was totally disappointing. The server never checked in on us while we were eating (she had quickly noted the mistake with the potatoes and went to fix that but never came to see how my food was). By the time the server arrived with the potatoes, we were done. I ate the fish because I was starving. On top of that the music was painfully loud

Three of us had lunch and it was tasty and salad was fresh. The soup unfortunately, although tasty is much TOO EXPENSIVE ($10.95). I have been here 3 times as my friends live in the area, but if asked for a recommendation, I would caution against the noise level. It is busy, but perhaps the wall/ceiling materials do not absorb noise. I feel discomfort when we need to shout across the table.

Terroni is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto so it's safe to say I wasn't disappointed this time for dinner. The fungi asoluti is the best salad and you can't go wrong with their pastas and pizzas. The service was a little slow this time, but I think our server was training a staffer so it was as attentive. I would still recommend and go back again and again.

I like this location because it is in a neighbourhood and it is located in peaceful surroundings but the food was very disappointing this time around. I have been to this location 3 times within the last 2 years and the food was disappointing on my last visit there. I had the halibut and my spouse had the seafood pasta. Flavour was lacking this time around - not sure if there are new chefs or different chefs in the kitchen. Service was good.

Really enjoyed lunch at Terroni- we both are the special which was delish! My friend an I both have babies and it was definitely kid friendly; they sat us at a table where we could have our strollers and not feel in the way. My only complaint is the servers kept trying to take my friend's plate even though she wasn't finished. She repeatedly told different servers that she wasn't done until finally someone just took her plate and walked away before she could stop him.

We recently dinned at the Summerhill location. One thing that bothered me was re our daughter's "children's portion" meal. They offer 2 child portion options not listed on the menu: penne or gnocchi with butter/parm or tomato sauce. Our 9-year old daughter opted for the gnocchi with butter/parm which ended up costing $16! This is WAY too expensive for a simple kids portioned meal coming with nothing additionally, i.e. no drink, no side or dessert ! For 95 cents more, she could have had "Gnocchi alla Simi" coming with "tomato sauce, fresh ricotta, basil, parmigiano" or had a pizza for $1.50 less!. Being married into an Italian family, it seems that Terroni has lost some of its Italian roots to respecting children and the family as a whole.

This place is obnoxiously accommodating to careless parents of loud, unattended children. On a Friday at 8 kids are running everywhere, upand down stairs, without a parent in site. Not fun for anyone but the kids. Go somewhere else. And why won't this site allow a user to rate sound level anything louder than moderate? This place is loud.

Firstly, the service was not in line with the upscale atmosphere. Our waitress was wearing a sweater around her waste as though she was going for a picnic. She was not rude, but was not polite either. She tried telling me that there are no chickens on the menu, because there are no chickens in southern Italy. The food.....was overpriced, small portioned and of less quality than Delissio pizza that I can buy for 3 dollars at No Frills. I am not exaggerating when I say, I would rather eat frozen pizza, truly!!!!! The dough was so thin that it was almost non existent, the toppings were also almost non existence. The only thing that was plentiful was the cheese. They should not call it Pizza, they should call it Cheese with toppings.

Went for an early Sunday evening dinner for 4. The place was pretty full and a bit loud early on (around 6pm). We had to raise our voices a bit to speak with the people at our table. But things quieted down part way through the evening and it wasn't a huge issue overall. Service was quick, timely, and friendly. We all ordered pizzas and were happy with our orders. Would recommend and go back again.

Arrived a bit early. Plenty of open seats. Was stuck in an interior location. No view. Everyone else outside or along widows. Clearly using this booking service was a disadvantage. Food was upper middle level Italian. My pizza didn't live up to expectation. The description sure sounded great. The reality was less so. But still very good crust and base ingredients. Just that a pizza focussed on mushroom things should remind one of some fungi. Salad was average at best. No creativity. Partner's beet salad was excellent. All portions created waste. By the glass wine selection was excellent and the list for full bottles was enticing. Price at upper middle ($95 lunch for 2) more palatable with a view.

We showed up for our reservation and the downstairs hostess checked us in and told us to go upstairs where the second hostess didn't know we had a reso. Then asked inside or patio, we said patio. She told us to go upstairs and "see what was avaialble" even though she used the walkie to communicate with the upstairs hostess. We got up to the patio and the 3rd hostess told us nothing was available and to go downstairs. So we went back down and finally was sat. Just a bit fruatrating that they had the tools to be very efficient but did not use them correctly.
