Diner Reviews
  • "The patio has a very nice atmosphere with greenery all around and when the sun went down, the strings of lights hung up around the patio gave it a very quaint and romantic feel. Food was great, service was great! I've never been offered three different types (tap, spring, or sparkling) when I simply asked for water! And because we were having a difficult time figuring out which kind of wine we wanted, the waitress even called over a wine "specialist" to help us figure out a good wine! We got to taste a couple of wines before we ordered too which was nice. We ended up staying for almost three and a half hours without being bothered by staff (especially because the place was packed)! Overall, great night and I would definitely go back!"

  • "Terroni is a favourite of mine. Being southern Italian, this food hits all the right notes. Sweet reminders of Nonna's house executed to perfection."

  • "The patio at Terroni on Queen is simply magical, evoking images of travels abroad, great times and delicious food. The ambience is authentic, eclectic and welcoming...and without bring too noisy. It conjures the best of Toronto in the summer. I've been to this Terroni quite a few times and found the food this time in particular, outstanding.great taste surprises. The zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta were excellent. I eat out a great deal, and this reminded me of what a great and memorable occasion that dining out can be. It is a great gathering place for good friends."

  • "Recently went here after hearing great reviews. Seafood pasta was so bland. 2 mussels, 2 clams and 1 shrimp. Not worth it. Friends pizza was delicious. Small bugs on the patio got quite annoying but the ambience is great"

  • "I have been to this location many times but always gone for dinner. My kids love the simple pizza and pasta. Recently I went for lunch with a girl friend who works in the area. We both ordered the grilled sea bass under the special menu. It was so good, totally melt in your mouth! We shared a dessert which was to die for....some kind of deep fried sugar coated donut with nutella filling."

  • "After being seated in the back courtyard which was pretty full it took a while to be given menus, take drink orders and an age to come back and take our food order which was disappointing given how many staff they seemed to have. The food was pretty good italian fare. The pizza i had wasn't the best i had had locally which was a shame. The other diners enjoyed their pasta dishes Service sped up after they sent out the appetizers. Overall pretty good meal"

  • "My party and I had been sitting down for about 60 seconds when we were asked for our food order. And this was the theme for the rest of the meal - rush you out the door. Plates were cleared before everyone at the table was finished eating, dessert menus were presented while one person was still eating their main course, drinks were cleared before they were finished and we were stared at by a number of servers as we took our time paying our bill. Will never go back. The total time for dinner - 70 minutes."

  • "Food was good, but portion sizes were too big. Service was good, but the reservation took one of my guests to a different table which was weird. Don't like that there'e no pinot grigio option on the wine list. Overall, a good experience though!"

  • "The waiter was kind of rude when he WAS waiting on us. The ambience is a little cluttered, so really only ideal for couples dating. The menu and the alcohol choices are a little strange for Italian. Really remiss of them in particular not to carry Nastro Azuro Peroni. The hostess is super friendly and great though. Pro tip- request to not be seated near the bathrooms as you will get bumped by passers by."

  • "We chose Terroni for our anniversary dinner for a couple of reasons: it's one of the few places in the city that stocks Franciacorta (which, if you've never tried, is the equal of most champagnes costing three times the price). The terrace is great in summer (as long as it's not raining). Beware though, it's kid-friendly, so if you think children and restaurants don't mix you should probably avoid. The wine list is always interesting and it covers red and white Italians equally well. My wife found her pasta rather blah, but I enjoyed my secondi and dolci. We will definitely be coming back."

  • "Certain members of my party were interested in having some balsamic vinegar alongside the olive oil for the bread. But the waitress informed us that we weren't able too because of the owners special olive oil. Which we all thought was weird to impose such a rule when it was asked for. I understand not offering it regularly but it should be provided if asked for. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgable. The fried calamari were spectacular, definitely will be recommended to others."

  • "My husband enjoyed a great dinner on the patio last Thursday night. The ambiance was great and the service was good. The only thing that I would say is lacking is your wine menu. I know that Terroni is an Italian restaurant and understand the idea of having only Italian wines. I just feel that other choices would be great! (California!!!)"

  • "The ambience was great and the service amazing. One of us had ordered a pasta with truffles and waiter wanted to make sure the truffles weren't too overpowering for the one who ordered it so have him a sample first! Very yummy food!! Will definitely go back"

  • "Terroni is one of the best pizza/ S. Italian restaurants in the city-period. The food is consistently amazing, and the value is good. The service is generally excellent. My only gripe with it is the wine is far too expensive. I generally just skip ordering any. I simply fail to understand why Terroni cannot include an inexpensive 'house wine' (as Viva Napoli on Mt. Pleasant does). This would greatly enhance the dining experience at this restaurant."

  • "We booked on line so hoped for the best- we were blown away. The food was fab, the ambiance sitting outside in the early evening sunshine was great and we just had a lovely evening. Truly felt like we were in Italy."

  • "We were out for a special ocassion. Made a reservation ahead of time and all was done handled professionally. Even though we mentioned that it was for a birthday, we were placed close to the washrooms. While we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service, we could have done without the hint of washrooms' scents coming from down the hallway... And the waitress made no special ocassion out of the birthday! If you want to eat at Terroni on Queen, make sure they do not sit you towards the back, so the smells seeping from the hallway will not mix with the great food and drinks to be enjoyed."

  • "Absolutely love this place. This was my first time at this location. The patio was well-worth the trip. The prosciutto is the best I have ever had and will come back time and time again just for that. A little disappointed in the wines. They were out of our first 3 picks. They have an extensive list so we weren't at a loss, but still. Great time! Highly recommend. "

  • "Our experience at Terroni Queen was wonderful. It always is. Consistently great. It was also a lovely evening to sit outside on the patio. We had our two year old grandson with us for this family evening, and they treated him very well. Many Thanks Terroni! "

  • "Consistently great food and service from very nice staff. Staff are genuinely nice and don't hover. There are a wîde variety of choices on the menù and something affordable for those on a limited budget. The back courtyard is a really nice place to relax and share a meal en tête à tête or with a group of people. When there were people with small children at the table, the kids were always delighted to be there. A place that people take their wee kids for those lazy weekend brunches or early dinners. There is no kids menu but the food is FAR better than any kid's meal and cheaper when buying as a family. A great place to bring a date. The reataurant has 2 levels, a courtyard, a bar. The vibe in the restaurant is relaxed, even when busy. "

  • "I always look forward to visiting Terroni when I'm in Toronto, and it has always been a fantastic experience to enjoy excellent food in such a great atmosphere. It's always on my recommendations list for friends visiting the city, also, as it reliably delivers. The one suggestion I could think of making is that more wine selections by the glass would be welcomed. Already looking forward to my next visit. "

  • "We took our granddaughter for her birthday brunch to celebrate her eight Birthday! The two 70 year olds and the birthday girl had a great time. Outside patio! The grilled calamari was shared by all and excellent. Frances had a margarita pizza( their pizzas are always amazing). I had speggettii al lemoni. perfection!and Poppa ate all his favorite pasta of sausage, peas and cream! Beautiful day! Beautiful food! Amazing wine! What could be be better?"

  • "We came from Ottawa and had reserved on line for a special anniversary romantic dinner. What attracted us to this place was the authentic sounding menu. Maybe the on line reservation options should warn us about the atmosphere we were going to encounter. Well as we entered this noisy noisy family frendly establishement we realised that we were not going to have the romantic dinner we had envisaged. There was no house wine available and the wines were unnecessarily expensive. We decided to change our plans. for the evening and had pizza and beer instead of a full blown romantic dinner. I must say, the pizza was great. It is the closest we have found to the great pizzas in Naples. "

  • "The food in Terroni's is wonderful!!! We had appetizers, pasta and pizza, along with a great bottle of wine. I loved my experience. My only recommendation is that the restaurant cut up the pizza. We had trouble doing this with our knives. Overall, though, I enjoyed myself immensely. Thank you!!"

  • "I have always loved going to Terroni with friends. It's a great, fun place to hang out with a lively, energetic atmosphere with a laid back, yet hip vibe. Pizzas are excellent, very authentic Roma style. They use San Marzano tomato sauces, which is key to its success. All pastas are made in-house and are absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth. Recently, I had a bacon-wrapped filet steak with grilled veggies, cooked perfectly medium rare. For dessert, I had the chocolate torte flourless cake with warm center, and it was DELICIOUS! Deep rich cocoa flavour! "

  • "I found Terroni was a little overrated. Many reviews raved about it, including one of my friends. The main reason I went there was to take my boyfriend out for a romantic Italian dinner to celebrate his 20th birthday - it was too noisy, and tables were crammed. I had to constantly repeat what I was saying because it was that loud. Food was pretty decent. Maybe I went the wrong night - ( Friday) but it seemed more like a group/ kid place to me. Definitely would not celebrate important milestones there! "

  • "They have very yummy pizza. The bread with olive oil they brought out at the beginning was a nice touch, but would have been better with an oil/balsamic vinegar blend. I ordered the calamari, which was very good but it missed a dip on the side. When I asked the server for a dip, they said they don't do dips, they only have olive oil. For my pizza, I ordered a Arugula/smoked meat pizza, which was missing the cheese (something to hold the ingredients together). It was very messy eating it as the ingredients were all loose on top. It felt like I was eating a pita bread with a bunch of ingredients on top... Expensive experience, for what it is."

  • "We ate at this location a few years ago and the food and service were stellar. On this evening, the food was mediocre and the service lacking. Our waiter was nice enough, but nowhere near fast or attentive enough. We'll definitely be heading elsewhere for Italian food from now on."

  • "The place was packed with families on Easter Friday. Food was good despite the place running at capacity. Service was quick and professional. We felt well taken of despite a full house. One little disappointment: I had made a note that we were there to celebrate a birthday on my Open Table reservation. Was hoping the dessert would come with a candle but didn't happen. As the place was packed, I didn't feel like reminding the waiter before we sat down. So I guess I couldn't really blame them for missing it. Overall, a great place. Will go again."
