  • "we are frequent diners there but the last experience makes us hesitant to come back -"

  • "I have always loved Terroni. The food is great, and the ambient always different and friendly but very noisy. Last night there were 6 of us and when we received the bill we noticed an 18% Tip included. We were told by the lady who took care of us for the evening that the Tip was going to be shared among the people working at the restaurant but, 3% of the tip would stay with the Restaurant. Now, I am really sorry Terroni Owners, this is not ethical! I am not leaving a tip for the owners, after all you are making a pretty good living with your restaurant and definitively you do not need my tip. Please, rectify this issue."

  • "In fact, this restaurant came up on the list of the best pizza in Toronto, and it was fabulous! Thin crust, exotic toppings, large portion (a 12 inch pizza is considered "for one") - no regrets!"

  • "Nice laid back environment perfect for business lunch. The salads and pizzas are delicious. I would highly recommend it."

  • "the patio is quite spacious and very nice- the food was very good as usual and a great option for a nice lunch get together- service was speedy but not rushed- could use more beer options"

  • "This is my fav place. This is why I like coming to this resto."

  • "Having heard all about this restaurant, I was really excited to come here. I almost missed the restaurant while walking by, it's nothing special on the outside, but the inside is gorgeous. I loved the deli-style counter that you see when you first walk in. We opted for a patio table and I was even more taken away. The patio is huge and is surrounded by trees and bushes. It didn't feel like I was downtown. The service was quite slow. The server didn't come to us for a while and when she finally came she took our drink orders and left, she didn't ask us if we wanted any appetizers. Then 15 minutes later she came back with our drinks and finally we got to order. The food was fantastic. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauces were rich"

  • "There were two of us for an early dinner on the patio. It was great, quick, simple- just what we needed."

  • "Have had good experiences at Terroni on Queen, so thought this location would be similar. Big mistake. About 30 seconds after we were seated our waitress came to ask for our drink order. We told her we hadn't even had a chance to open the wine list. She came back ten minutes later and asked for our food order. We politely reminded her we hadn't even ordered wine yet - we ordered our wine and the octopus appetizer. The wine came and mine was terrible - tasted worse than 2 buck chuck. Our octopus came quickly and was ok but tough. Still had received no bread and had to ask for it. My boyfriends entree was something he'd enjoyed at other location - here the sauce was brimming with sausage fat. Rushed service, bad meal, won't be back."

  • "A great combo of great food, amazing svc and incredible surroundings . Amazing."

  • "The food never disappoints at Terroni. The location on Adelaide is nicely decorated and spacious, but the one thing that detracts is the noise level. One has to yell when having a conversation."

  • "This was my second visit to Terroni ADELAIDE. Just as the first time, I was blown away by the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was simultaneously rustic and elegant and very accessible to all people of all ages. I found the food and wine reasonably priced and the quality in my opinion far outweighed the cheque. The music was lively and balanced - good for all ages. I recommend this for big family groups out to dine, groups of friends catching up on old times or even a cute dinner date. I can't wait to return - the Ravioli is to die for!!"

  • "The food and service was terrible. Patio is not good either."

  • "This is a great historic conversion space. The main dining space was really nicely designed, with a great outdoor space, off the back of the building. The food was good but unfortunately the service is too casual and slow for me. Decent wine list, however, the server had poor knowledge of wine inventory and food preparation. I’d definitely give it another try…"

  • "Good restaurant that could be great. Too noisy and crowded. Conversation is difficult. Menu print is too small to read under dim lights."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "Was here with my girlfriends. Food was good, good atmosphere although it gets really loud in the main dining area, hardly could hear each other talking. The hostess was bitter after we asked to be moved to a different table but the rest of the staff were accommodating and friendly."

  • "Came here for a quick dinner with my dad before heading to a show. We ordered a pasta and a pizza to share. Both were very good. We also ordered the creme caramel dessert. It was alright, but would probably try something different next time. This place is always reliable. Service is consistency good."

  • "Terroni is an energetic resto serving great Italian food in downtown TO. We had grilled calamari to start. It was very delicious. There were many selections of pizza and pasta. The agnolotti was my favourite. Will go back to try more. "

  • "Absolutely totally unbearable noise level. If that doesn't bother you, then by all means go. Everything else is terrific. "

  • "What a fabulous meal. I had the DaDoaDa pizza. It was lovely. Never had abad meal. But reservations certainly help because it's super busy. "

  • "Seems that Terrioni is catering to a young crowd on Friday nights, loud music and a DJ. If you want to be able to talk to your friends, pick somewhere else. Food is still excellent. I would only go back for lunch."

  • "My guest and I are seasoned travelers who love to dine out. We are also both good cooks. Neither of us have we had bitter olive oil and do not understand why a restaurant would use it. It really detracts from the food since everything is served or cooked with it from the sourdough bread to salad and pasta dishes. The wine was also not well described in the menu. Ours was muddy with no finish. The noise level was outrageous. The cavernous interior of this old bank building is the likely reason, but we literally shouted across a very small table to have a conversation. Not a pleasant experience though the service was very good."

  • "The building is wonderful. The food is good. Our server was barely adequate."

  • "Truly love the food, atmosphere, locations really, everything but...One of the most ludicrous policies of any restaurant has to be the "Absolutely NO balsamic vinegar" or "balsamic vinegar only on Terroni approved menu items". This Stalinist attitude towards a common condiment boggles the mind. At Terroni, like every other establishment, you are offered olive oil, parmesan cheese, pepper at various times during your meal, Terroni then allows the patron to decide "yes or no" to have it added. Balsamic is strictly verboten! I urge everyone to ask for balsamic vinegar, especially on items it is supposed to be on (bread, carpaccio etc..) and sit back and watch the poor server have to explain a policy they can't justify to themselves either."

  • "My husband and I ventured East of Yonge (!) to try out Terroni for dinner. The streets were quiet but when we entered the restaurant we found a busy and fun atmosphere. Some of the tables are close together so you need to be ok with the communal feel of the place but we loved it. The food and service were excellent as was the wine list. We asked for a wine recommendation from the server and were very happy with the choice. Don't pass up a cup of superb coffee after dinner, these guys know how to work that espresso machine! We are looking forward to another visit with friends."

  • "The food is incredible but it's very loud. I thought of texting my dinner companion because I couldn't hear her across the table. Try to go during off hours if noise bothers you. Food was so well worth it. Friendly service too."

  • "Since I discovered this restaurant I have gone back for my favorite dishes every time I visit Toronto. I have never been disappointed. This time I brought my boyfriend from Australia. We tried alot of new dishes and it blew our minds away, especially the truffle pasta."

  • "The food was extremely good and the service was perfect. The reservation process was very good through open table and we would like to know what do you do the mushrooms in the mushroom salad so they are so crispy!"

  • "Server was very attentive but food took ages to come. Had to wait 45 min for table even though we had a reservation. But atmosphere was awsome, staff excellent and food very good!"

  • "Reliable for good food and service. Warning that they dont make any substitutions, so the 3 pregnant women at the table had a hard time finding something they could eat. "

  • "I have been to Terroni an uncountable number of times. Its always excellent food, although I find it quite loud so that is something to consider if you are looking to have an intimate conversation with someone or need a place to take your grandmother. "

  • "I was there celebrating my birthday with friends. The service was so bad - our server disappeared multiple times, we waited almost 45 minutes before we received drinks or ordered (and the server struggled to help us pick out a bottle of wine). I ordered a salad as my main course and it got brought out during the appetizers (I don't expect things like this to happen at nice places like Terroni) Our server also cleared food and drinks from our table that weren't finished. We waited a long time to pay as our server disappeared in the middle of processing our credit cards to roll napkins. It was very disappointing and definitely put a damper on the night."

  • "There were 5 of us that dinned for a few hours in the front section on April 16th 2014. Despite being at the front, near the door, the ambiance was still great, energetic, not cold! The food was great and excellent timing. We started with the cured meat board, then each had individual pizza/pasta. My vegetarian pizza was great, even better with those amazing hot peppers! We started with cocktails (I recommend the Spinosa), then shared a couple bottles of red wine (the nero d'avola blend) Our server was excellent! Very attentive and quick. Continuously kept our wine glasses full. This was my first dinner at this particular location and will be back more often for sure! Great experience overall. "

  • "To be honest, I had such high hopes coming into Terroni's. I heard a lot about it. As soon as I walked in, I was excited. The Place looks great. We sat down, got our table right when reservation was made. First thing, the music was too loud. Could barely hear each other talking. Came to the point where we just ate. The appetizer came, which was a mixed platter of meats and cheeses, and that was great. One thing I noticed was I could barely read the menu. The font just did not work with the lighting, and i had to turn my phone's flashlight to read it. Main courses came, and i had the sausage and black truffle pasta, and it was poor. No flavour, and just bland. Disappointed, my girlfriends dish wasn't memorable either.Doubt I'll be coming back"

  • "Im a young person and go to concerts all the time so noise is not an issue for me but something was off about this location. They sat us in a very small crammed location where it was difficult to leave the table. There was about 8 inches between other tables and as you moved around you were getting into you table neighbour's food/table space. Also felt like you were competing to talk over your neighbours and couldn't stop paying attention to others. The ambient noise in the room was extremely loud and even though you were sitting in front your date you were yelling at them so they could hear what you were saying. in short: bad layout/noise. food was classic and tasty but at a very good price. drink selection also very good."

  • "Second time at this restaurant. Vibrant and fun. A but noisy due to poor acoustic softening, but that is the trade off in an authentic converted courthouse in old Toronto. Great food and very friendly service. Walking distance to main downtown area (or a quick subway ride to areas just outside the core. I'll be back."
