We ordered the cheese plate, salads and an omelet. All was ok but nothing special and too expensive for what you got. It's very nice to dine in the garden café though because of the atmosphere and I will return for that.

What a wonderful melange of ambiance and incredible food! I can't say enough about the entire experience and can't wait to go back - even though we live 100 miles away! The combination of authentic rustic atmosphere and farm to table cuisine is a win:win. We started with the soups (roasted wild mushroom and apple-carrot) and the flavor was amazing. Entrees included scallops and risotto with shrimp and both were done to perfection. Portions were ample and we left quite full. Loved the bread baked in a flower pot, as well. Terrain Garden Cafe is quite a gem and the surrounding shops raise it to a whole other level!

Love everything about Terrain but their kitchen is way understaffed. It took 45 mins for omelet and french toast. Bacon was way overcooked. Even though I like crispy bacon, these were black and dripping with oil. Also, a couple months ago- our first time having dinner there, they completely forgot my entree altogether. They felt bad and gave us free dessert to go because we had other plans and couldn't wait much longer. Anyways, the whole atmosphere is great and worth checking out though because it is different and unique

Lovely county setting, but the food is very overpriced. Lunch: Soup & salad w/ no protein and glass of water was $20 before tax & tip. Hamburger was $18. Quality does not match pricing. Especially for the location...Glen Mills, PA - not NYC!

Reservations are a must for weekend outings. The atmosphere here is truly unique. It was so beautiful to look at everything that you almost escape into solitude around the lively scene around you. Definitely the type of place for romance, but relaxed enough that it's okay for a date night. Really wish that the waiter I had knew a little more about the menu and what ingredients were in the entrees. Both my date and I got the Terrain Burger because that was the only thing he could confidently assure me was great. And he was not wrong! Probably the best hamburger I've ever had. The cheese board is another must! Absolutely divine. Based on other's reactions to their dishes around us, you'll love anything you get.

I live in Philadelphia but will go out of my way to drive 40 minutes to Terrain. It is absolutely worth it. The store itself is worth the trip, but the cafe has incredible food in a beautiful setting with exceptional service. My parents hosted our engagement party here and the event staff is wonderful to work with and the dinner served was amazing. All around perfect place!

We went here expecting it love it, we've heard such great things. Upon arrival, the ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely lovely!! Service was just ok..friendly, but alot of waiting. The bread pot, I will say, was delicious! The rest of the meal was a let-down. Everything lacked proper seasoning. My husband's burger was so tall he could barely pick it up..it was pretty but not practical, he had to disassemble it to eat it. I got the risotto, it was watery and flavorless...the butternut cubes in it weren't cooked through. I added a chicken breast for an upcharge and it was completely inedible. It was like rubber...I literally left the entire thing on the plate. Maybe we hit an off night...?? Unfortunate to say, we will not be returning.

The cafe's website highly recommends a reservation, which we made. Upon arriving, a couple ahead of us hadn't made a reservation and was trying to get a seat, which took a long time to sort out. Once the couple was seated, the hostess disappeared. Finally someone arrived to seat us. The individual walked to a table, removed a reserved sign and promptly walked away. There was no indication from the individual that this was our seat, so we had to ask if this was indeed our table or if he was just clearing it for someone else. We had to wait another 5 minutes for a menu and a further 10 minutes for a waitress. When our waitress arrived, she was attentive and the food was delicious, but given the start of the service, we won't be going back.

We went for brunch to celebrate a birthday. The greenhouse is beautiful and the outdoor seating provides wonderful views of their grounds. The food was top notch and the service very attentive. The lattes were all delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly and had wonderful toppings. The stuffed French toast was also amazing. The only negative was that there were a couple of bees trying to share our brunch. Would probably sit inside next time.

Let me start off by sayng I complain about everything. Salt shakers, glassware, uniforms of the waitresses, lighting...you name it I have something to say. Well this place hit the mark on every point. Service was perfect, food choices interesting and perfectly cooked and the atmosphere, while pleasant when we sat down at 6, was romantic and enveloped in a candlelight feel from all the Edison bulbs strewn across the canopy (yes canopy) Prices were excellent.

I ordered Fish and Chips. The fish was bland and fries were soggy. My husband ordered terrain burger. Overall, the burger was good except the meat was bland. The fries were also soggy. We ordered salted honey pie which was super sweet and couldn't finish it. The dinner was a disappointment. It was the first time we came for dinner.

The Mushroom soup was amazing! Also the bread baked in terra cotta flower pots was enticing enough to make me break my low carb plan for the day. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the ingredients in all the dishes, as we had some with special diets in our party. Great experience and charming atmosphere. The garden center is delightful - but very pricey!

I visited Terrain this past weekend, after a friend had recommended the place. We ordered the Roasted Vege sandwich, which was overpriced for the few slices of vegetables in the roll. We've been a Styers Cafe fans; having had excellent lunch/brunch experiences in the past. Our first dinner foray was an expensive misstep. We ordered mushroom soup ($9.00/cup)and a baby greens salad topped with apples, cheddar cheese, pistachios and pickled red onions ($12.00). This is a BYOB but we ordered iced tea. Our soup was good but the salad was an epic disappointment. Mostly consisting of greens, it had less than 1/2 of an apple and very little cheese. No pistachios could be found and to top it off, the greens were bitter tasting. But the shared bread pot was a hit. We told our server about our meal issues and although she was sorry we didn't enjoy it, left our bill for $50.00. Doubt we'll be back for dinner anytime soon.

Terrain is more than a restaurant, it is a plant nursery and store for the home and soul. I would say in general that it's a women's place but men who love plants will enjoy it as well. Every thing is made in house daily, and at the peak of freshness. The salads were perfectly crunchy and well dressed, the sandwiches on artisinal breads with unusual condiments that needed no additions, and the meats perfectly cooked to order. Our starter of barbequed cauliflower would please the staunchest vegetable hater. It, Iike many dishes at lunch was served on a wooden board. We ate in the courtyard but the greenhouse is equally picturesque and welcoming. The service was attentive but not obtrusive, and the ambiance divine, the food, heavenly.

We were seated basically in front of the bathrooms and watched 35 people come in and out of the bathroom. I had to get up several times to shut the bathroom doors because honestly looking at the toilet is not appetizing. We sat down at 8:15 and did not get our appetizer until 9:10. The waitress was not very attentive to our table. The service was slow and at that time of night the restaurant was slowing down so really no excuse.

This was my second experience at Terrain, and the first time for brunch. I took my parents and grandmother there before an afternoon at Longwood Gardens. We had eaten dinner here before and enjoyed our meal. We didn't enjoy it this time. The restaurant is lovely and waitstaff were friendly. But other than the fresh baked bread and flavored butter, the rest of the meal was over priced and flavor were just okay. My husband spent $27 for his entree and was served a 4" square piece of salmon, with some polenta and a tablespoon of eggplant. I ordered eggplant meatballs on toasted farro. The farro was good but the two meatballs were a tablespoon of mush with little flavor. My friends scallops were good but very tiny portion. It's a shame because it's a lovely garden setting connected to their beautiful nursery. I should have listened to the negative reviews.
