Terrace Room at The Harbor GrandNice find in New BuffaloFirst time visit to Terrace Room. No one had ever heard of the restaurant before, but it is somewhere I will return to. Menu is well prepared and focuses on fewer dishes with higher quality. The Ravioli was great and starters were enough for two. Wine menu was a little small, but I did find a nice Chianti by the glass. All the staff was attentive to your needs and very helpful with the menu. Seating is limited so if you go on Friday or Saturday be sure you have a reservation and ask for an outside table if the weather agrees.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food;Good view; limited menuWe were there on Memorial Day week-end 2013. While most of the week-end was casual we were looking for something a little more upscale for dinner - and we found it. The food was delicious. The price was not out of line, but menu appropriate. It was very small so reservations are a must. The only criticism I have is that the name of the restaurant does not indicate Italian and being from out of town we didn't know any better. Seafood dishes we did expect located on the marina as it was. But my husband was disaqppointed there was no steak on the menu and the menu itself is very limited. The ONLY thing on the menu he would eat was spaghetti and meatballs - which he said was great. Overall B+ due to having a picky eater with us.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Experience!My wife and I were staying at the Harbor Grand, and decided to go to the Terrace Room for dinner to celebrate our second anniversary. Before going, we were actually warned against it by a local who said the portions were small and it was over-priced. He could not have been further from the truth!!! Neither one of us were able to finish our meals due to the large portions, and the food was amazing! When the staff found out that it was our anniversary, they even gave us a free dessert!
With the setting on the harbor, the ambience is very peaceful and romantic. I would HIGHLY recommend the Terrace Room to absolutely anyone!!!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThursday Treat at the Grand TerraceMy boyfriend and I met for dinner on a Thursday night at the Grand Terrace. We had never been here before and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and especially the service. We often get two entrees and share when we mentioned we were going to do this, our waitress offered an option than NO ONE EVER HAS BEFORE. She said that they could split the meals in the kitchen. How great and unexpected !! We loved it ! The view was also great from the terrace and another surprising element was it was slightly breezy outside and our waitress said she could get me a blanket, didn't take her up on it but still a nice thing to be offered. A special accolade for the seafood cioppino. Also kudos for being vegetarian and vegan friendly. The well chosen, reasonably priced wine list is a plus. His fish is fresh and my husband looks forward to Chef's preparation of trout or daily fish special, the home made ravioli is always great. A very friendly and cozy atmosphere in the autumn/winter months. Fire place indoors and an outdoor fire place on the patio as well, where you can roast marsh mellows. In the summer months sit outdoors on the patio, sip a wonderful glass of wine and enjoy the views of the the harbor.
Stacy is the manager and is always warm and welcoming. You will find Dana, behind the bar waiting with a big smile and ready to accommodate your cocktail or wine desire.
