  • Private Party Facilities: Terrace in the Park has several options when it comes to booking your private party.
    There is access to two board rooms, one seating 25 people and the other seating 16.
    Our second floor gallery can accommodate 60 guests for a sit down meal and up to 120 for a standup cocktail reception.
    The outdoor Terrace can accommodate up to 160 people in a variety of configurations.
    Finally, the main dining room can fit 95 people seated and 120 for cocktail receptions.

  • Special Events & Promotions: The Pavilion building is the home of two private rooms. The Pavilion room, located outside our main dining room, seats up to 22 people. The 2nd floor Rotation Gallery is capable of seating up to 65 guests for a sit down dinner comfortably. This space can also host a cocktail party of up to 150. Additionally, the Atrium and Terrace can be reserved for special events. This allows us to cater for groups of up to 300 people. A word from Terrace in the Park
Nestled amongst the trees of Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park, Terrace specializes in Canadian Contemporary Cuisine. Ample windows and a glass ceiling allow diners to enjoy the seasonal menu offerings along with the well defined seasons that Manitoba is known for. Assiniboine Park is also internationally renowned for its Zoo, The Leo Mol Gardens, conservatory and art collections featuring the works of Ivan Eyre, Clarence Tillenius, and Walter J. Phillips.
Terrace is a short 10 minute drive from the airport and 15 minutes from major downtown hotels.
Seasonal local, regional and national ingredients are highlighted with an emphasis on freshwater fish and seafood. The wine list is made up of many international vintages with an emphasis on some fine Canadian wines. Terrace represents the very best Winnipeg has to offer.   • "We found the food very tasteless. Our appetizer was fine but our main dishes lacked flavour. I had ordered the lamb which came with an olive and tomato fondant which I cannot eat so I asked could the chef do something different with my lamb? I was assured that was no problem, well all he did was salt and pepper it, no imagination whatsoever. The lamb was cooked very well to my taste but I have made better lamb at home myself. The mint jelly was more like soup and had no sugar in it. My husband's steak came with the shallot and brandy butter so I put a bit on my lamb to give it some taste. Even so my husband said his steak was very bland. We will not hurry back as we can get much better food at Hy's or frankly even the Keg."

Unfortunately, not unlike many location through out our City Park the landscaping … is just "ok" maintained; The entrance to the building is impressive but falls short on and around this historic romantic patio. This area is further, insulted by the plastic furniture the the "gifted" umbrellas advertising liquor ….. is this a 5 star restaurant or an out door patio at a 18 - 30 yr old bar? Sad. A little attention to the surroundings greenery, replace the "tacky" promotion umbrellas and complimented this beautiful area with a simple of white "polyester" table cloth would go a long way to enhancing and truly making this a 5 star patio/restaurant!"

  • "My wife and I decided to go here for our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent (Terrace in the Park is the only place I've been that actually cooks a steak medium rare.) and the service outstanding. We were never without water or anything else we needed. I would completely recommend this place to anyone who wants excellent service and great food."

  • "The server was not fully knowledgeable of the menu. On 2 occasions we specifically asked for items but did not receive them. The food was expensive which would be fine if it showed on the quality but it did not, ex. salmon was way too salty. Overall it was overpriced."

  • "We took some out of town guest for dinner there and enjoyed ourselves so much. The food was great and the wine that was suggested by the server was so amazing . The salmon was one of the best I have ever had. I was not aware you had an outside seating area so that was a nice surprise. It really is a hidden Gem. I also was not aware that it was associated with 529 or some of the other great restaurants in Winnipeg. Will definitely go back again."

  • "The atmosphere was perfect! Right from walking in to the restaurant right to leaving the restaurant. Everyone has their job down to a Tee. The food was fresh and a grade above other restaurants. I am a farmer and I raise my own beef and chickens and I always set the bar really high when I'm out and this place really did not disappoint with their freshness and food quality. My wife hates the taste of beets but this place had the best beets I've ever tasted. Being our anniversary it was a beautiful gesture to include a dessert for the two of us... Highly highly recommend this place!!!"

  • "We entertained family from Montreal and completely enjoyed the experience. The welcome has friendly and professional. The service was excellent and very knowledgeable, with good advice on the wine. My wide like very dry martinis with extra olives and she was very happy with her drink. The appetizers (shrimp in potato baskets, Caesar salad and beet salad) were excellent. The mains, consisting of steak, salmon and pickerel were all very good. In all very enjoyable and quite reasonable for the quality. We will return."

  • "This is a good restaurant if you don't want the stuck-up atmosphere of the nightclub style restaurant that is all too popular these days. The natural lighting and tastefully dressed serving staff was refreshing. The booths need re-apolstoring though, as they take away from the ambiance. Food items to order: beet salad (like other reviewers recommended), stuffed chicken, cheesecake & creme brûlée. Items to pass on: steak (too fatty, like other reviewers noted), pork chop & asparagus risotto (both too bland). This is a place where you can dress casually but get a better-than-box-restaurant experience. I appreciated the Eco-friendly takeout packaging as well."

  • "I thought it would be fun to have our 8th wedding anniversary diner where it all happened in the first place (Tavern in the Park). The staff was amazing as usual, relaxing atmosphere, great menu options... My only complaint (actually 2) was my wife and I both ordered tenderloin with lobster. My dinner came without a lobster as I was told it was not up to par and a new one was being prepared, which is fine but why bring out a dish that is incomplete to begin with? Second issue was both tenderloins were slightly over cooked, I asked for rare and it came medium while my wife ordered medium and it came well done. Having said that the lobster was still delicious as was the tenderloin!"

  • "The setting is potentially romantic, the welcome friendly and efficient, but the effective dress code was very casual - pity. The dining room, a large conservatory, has a couple of challenges - temperature control and noise. On a cool, very wet June evening the temperature was too cool and the noise of rain made conversation a challenge. Service was OK but not attentive enough. Food was edible, but not value for money. The steamed crab was inedible, the crispy chicken livers tasted burnt, the seafood linguine was a disappointment and the promise of the Berkshire pork chop failed to materialize even if its size dominated plate and conversation; the extra side of broccolini was mostly inedible, but the garlic mushrooms were excellent."

We have been to other WOW Hospitality restaurants (e.g 529 Wellington) but the owners need to re-vamp this one. We don't mind paying for excellence, but it has to extend to the food!"

  • "The ambience was very nice. Be warned ... bring sunglasses if your dinner is before sundown. Our salad of roasted glazed beets was excellent. Kitchen very kindly divided it for us, but we didn't know that as they didn't bring both bowls out at the same time. A small glitch. The crab appetizer was amazing! Not enough flatbread, and we had to finish it off with spoons, but that was OK. Our "medium" steaks were actually quite rare - oddly enough, only half of each steak was underdone. All in all, we enjoyed the meal and will likely be back."

  • "This was our most unpleasant dining experience in years! We ordered lobster bisque but it was not ready. There was hardly any sauce on the seafood pasta - but it was tasty. 3 mussels 3 small chunks of salmon, 2 shrimp and bits of crab like the kind you get from a can mixed in with the pasta for $26. The first couple of bites of tuna seemed slightly overcooked. When this was mentioned to the waiter he asked my husband where he'd had tuna before but he did offer to replace it. When asked I said the crème brule was more like a combination texture wise of soft ice cream and pudding. The waiter asked if I was familiar with crème brule. My husband's Irish coffee was served with cream & sugar on the side along with a bowl of whipped cream!"

  • "We were given the window table as requested. Service was prompt. Server was gracious and friendly. I ordered the spinach salad with chicken as main course, but quantity was small and more appropriate for a side salad. We had to ask for ground pepper. We also asked for bread and was told that someone else was responsible for serving the bread and wasn't doing his job. House wine was good. Dessert was excellent. Restaurant staff set up for a wedding reception which was to take place the next day, and moving of tables and chairs around us was distracting. "

  • "Noise level high due to many babies crying under the high ceiling, that is a draw back for those that want brunch without that kind of noise. Waiters come around too much with coffee/water refilling interrupting personal conversations. Fried potatoes served with every entree greasy and tasteless another option would be nice (salad). Fresh pastries and fresh fruit plate a nice touch with entres. "

  • "I took my daughter to Terrace in the Park for her Birthday. It was a bit far from our respective office, but worth the drive. The room is very peasant. Our server was great and the chocolate brownie cake she brought for my daughter was a super touch."

  • "QUIET ATMOSPHERE ,BRIGHT SURROUNDING WITH A NATURAL TOUCH COMPLIMENTED THE EXCELLENT FOOD . THE WINE LIST WAS TREMENDOUS WITH OUR WAITER DEAN KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THE WINES.   • "The food was amazing! The service was too. The room was beautiful. I went with a friend and we were going to take the whole evening for this dining experience. We were there for 4 hours. They didn't rush us, we were never made to feel like we had to get going. Everything about the Terrace was perfect! I have small children and a 19 year old and I would never take them there. It's for adults and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. It's calm and quiet, it was everything we were looking for. "

My steak was marginal at best; my wife's seafood fettuccine was a $15. dish not $26;the portion of salmon another guest got was large and good;another of our group said his lobster was good.   • "We enjoyed attentive service and exceptional food including appetizers and main course. The salmon was cooked to medium and was a very large portion. My only concern at times was having to many servers, other than our actual waiter, at once attend our table to fill water or clean dishes. This caused several interruptions throughout the meal, which may have been avoided to help the overall ambiance of the evening. Shouldn't complain, though about the exceptional service. Also missed any background music for the evening which could have added to the overall intimacy of the evening."

My wife had a pickerel dish that was better than any we have tried.We are hooked going back for sure!!
