Diner Reviews
  • "Very friendly staff, the night ambience is a beautiful glow of twinkling lights and the window enclosed dining area gives it a large open feel. The food was delicious too! Gorgeous place to dine in the park for that special occasion."

  • "Fabulous location, summer and winter. Service excellent. Ambience very classy. Food mediocre except desserts. Prices too high when separate side dishes added."

  • "ususally nice and quite but large family gathering this time with kids running around surprice brunch was well worth the money with more to take home service gave us special seats, explained orders and served well"

  • "Very nice atmosphere. A better than average wine list. The Menu is limited and the food is average at best."

  • "Fish and seafood are our favorites and we have never been disappointed. Can be noisy when busy."

  • "Went to establishment for a nice brunch. Food was alright. But just that, alright. Most of the meal seemed like a cheap attempt to try and justify its lofty price. Was given small serving of meats and cheeses. Which seemed very, very similar to an assorted meats pkg that can be found at Costco. Followed by small amount of fruit. Some pastries (which did seem a cut above the rest of the meal). The main course was alright, but nothing you couldn't obtain from a pancake house for a fraction of the cost and in a larger serving. So all and all a very disappointing meal. But at least now I know never to go back. But sadly it was an expensive lesson to learn at almost 100.00 for two, after taxes and such."

  • "I had my first anniversary with my girlfriend. The food and the service were great. The only part that was o.k was the steak. It wasn't very juicy. It was a bit dry. Other then that the whole meal was wonderful. Thank you."

  • "Restaurant had knowledgeable helpful and genuine staff. The right amount of helpful service. Food was very impressive."

  • "The salad was very good, the shrimp appetizers were very good, the rack of lamb was very tasty but a little fatty and the shrimp dish with angel hair was very good and tasty but way too much butter and oil. We were sitting by the heat register therefore we were nice and cozy. Overall very good."

  • "Ambiance is great, love the park setting and glass ceiling room... Nice, quiet, romantic atmosphere... The service is pretty much what you might expect, however our waitress was a bit too friendly and overstepped her welcome a bit.... For the price paid, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food. Seafood salad was great, carrot soup was OK, beef bouriguignon was below par, more like chunks of beef in gravy that I might have at the local diner..."

  • "Came here for valentine's day. The food was good, being a set menu I can't comment on the actual menu, but everything was prepared perfectly. The service was the best I've ever had, and that makes it such a memorable experience."

  • "I took my 92 yr. old mother here for lunch and I couldn't have picked a better place. It was quiet (necessary because of her hearing issues) and they treated her like the queen she is to us. Even though it was just lunch, it felt quite elegant to her and that made the event quite special. The only thing that is an issue is that there is no handicap parking attached to the property. It was relatively mild outside however if had been a very cold day that would have been a challenge. I will definitely be going there again."

  • "We went for the dine about menu and we were very pleased. I had the fish and other person had the pork chop. Loved the beet salad.Great food, great service, very good wine pairing suggestion for our meal. All in all we had a great experience."

  • "Hubby took me to Terrace to celebrate my birthday. I had read that it can be cold so brought along those disposable hand and foot warmers just in case! Thankfully they were not needed and he room was a very comfortable temperature. Food was very good and reasonably priced. The service was extremely efficient, professional and friendly, attentive without being annoying. I was even brought me a complementary birthday dessert with candles. The server overheard us talking about it being my bday. A very thoughtful touch! And a very nice memorable evening out. The building itself was just beautiful in the snowy winter setting."

  • "I will be honest that I found the food to be delicious but pricey. Side dishes seemed especially pricey. I am not a fan of "a la carte" menus although the menu at Terrace was very nice."

  • "Absolutely delicious. By far one of the most delicious meals I've eaten. The soup, crab risotto and cooked oysters. Melted our taste buds! Server was very informative. Was told the menu was getting an update I look forward to returning to try the new one! Being minus forty when we went they were quiet with three tables in the place being seated"

  • "Succulent escargots, lovely crisp Caesar salad with homemade bread and a hefty pork chop. All this was preceded by champagne. Not to mention the sparky snowy night as viewed through the windows of this charming dining room. First class. Thank you."

  • "My friend and I went for a lunch on a sat. We were the second group in the whole restaurant. The table was set elegantly, the room was decorated with restrain and class. We both felt our blood pressure drop due to the sheer beauty of the room!! My friend had the special-It was fab, I had a special chicken sandwhich which was fresh, tasty and will be hard to resist when I visit again. As the room filled up with other diners, the noise level stayed very quiet and serene. Would I go back ? Certainly. Thanks for such a memorable lunch. We will be back."

  • "Would not recommend this restaurant. Used to be good, before WOW got their hands on it. Now it's overpriced and mediocre. Cold seafood platter? Really?"

  • "The food and ambiance was excellent. The service was excellent. It easily accomodated a handicapped guest. It is a jewel in the park!"

  • "We had a lovely, romantic dinner and the service was excellent. I ordered the chicken but asked for the sauce on the side, and when the waiter asked if I would prefer a different sauce and I said yes, the chef created another for me. The portion of chicken was very generous, as was my husband's pork chop. The beet salad was a real hit. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time (we eat early), so we could hear all the fun in the kitchen, which was a little disappointing but the waiter noticed and it was rectified. Altogether a great evening."

  • "The roasted vinaigrette beet salad was tangy and delicious, The crab risotto was a bit disappointing because it was slightly watery and needed more flavor. However, the tenderloin trio and Surf and turf entrees were very tasty if not scrumptious. The service was perfect thanks to Megan, one of the best servers we have had in a very long time."

  • "The food and service was very good but the menu was limited (no option to order potato or rice) and the amount of food received was very small (i.e. 1 scallop and 1 medallion). Because of this I would not recommend this restaurant.. It was interesting to note, however, when desert was ordered the portion we received was larger than our main course!!"

  • "Terrace 55 is set in a beautiful open airy room Looking out into the park. The decor is comfortable and elegant. The service Is top notch. The food is excellent. We went for a birthday lunch and everyone had the same. Butternut squash soup which Was delicious and Mediterranean salad no 2 with breaded calamari grilled shrimp We were too full for dessert but birthday girl had a complimentary brownie (right amount of moistness) with caramel and a dab of chocolate ganache on the ice cream. We all shared. This is my third time in last few months and still feel same way. Dinner menu offered an array of smaller dishes as well as several entrees. Great for special occasions"

  • "Excellent setting. Presentation of food was excellent. Cannot say enough about our hostess, Pamela. She was so informative, friendly and courteous. a real treasure. The only thing on the menu that I did not care for was the cold dill potatoes. this dish would be greatly enhanced with some type of hot potato dish."

  • "We found this restaurant cold, half empty and somewhat lacking in ambience. The food was mediocre - waiter tried to make it sound impressive, but when our plates arrived at the table they were sparse and over rated. While I can't say the restaurant was terrible, we also won't be rushing back. Just nothing special at all. Too bad for such a neat spot."

  • "Brought some clients here at their suggestion and was not dissapointed. It's a conservatory setting, and the house lights were on a dimmer or timer to come on after the sun set far enough; a very nice touch. This would be a nice wedding venue. The server knew the menu really well and could describe unfamiliar items. She also covered off dietary restrictions nicely as I have celiac."
