This is my third visit to this restaurant and the experience was the same as the other two times. The staff were courteous, knowledgable and attentive. The dinner and presentation was excellent. The evening was relaxing and gracious but not stuffy. Banff style!

I wasn't sure what to expect especially when we arrived and saw all the tourist buses and a rather unspired Lodge. However, from start to finish, the meal was wonderful. We were staying at the Fairmont and this meal exceeded what we had there in all ways! I think it is such a treasure. They weren't very full for a Friday night so I am hoping that little by little it will be "discovered." The chef has a wonderful way with every dish. Please don't miss this one! We left smiling.

We were in Banff for a work event. I knew we had a long day of meetings and so when I looked for a dinner venue, I wanted something quiet with great food. And that is exactly what we got. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was outstanding. It was our servers first day and she did a great job. I had huge scallops with risotto balls. The scallops were so tender and not rubbery. A lovely dish... just the perfect amount. Dessert was coconut, almond and chocolate. All my favourite things at once. I will visit this restaurant the next time we are in Banff, for sure.

The service the quaint terrace styled room the amazing food were all a surprise. We went in expecting a nice meal and had heard that it was a nice place but did not expect the level of service nor the quality of food. What a pleasant surprise. Having lived in Canmore for over 10 years and frequented many Banff restaurants we had never considered this restaurant before thinking it would be like most large hotel large dining rooms. Instead it is this cozy, elegant, amazing location with a nice view of the gardens and the food was unbelievable! I had the filet with truffled mash potato my husband had the veal we started with the baked goat cheese and beautiful cocktails. It really was delicious.

Service was very slow to start but fine after the appetizer was served. The appetizers were very good and the best part of the meal....the mussels were excellent and the fennel salad was very good and interestingly done. Both mains, one was a roast trout, the other buffalo done two ways were good but not what would be expected at this price point. Threee stars at this price point...4stars if priced at Earls or the Keg price points

The Terrace has become my go-to place for a great meal in Banff. I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants (particularly desserts, which somehow always look mass manufactured), but the Terrace has made me a believer. The servers are great and the only mishap I've had there was a large dining group (of about 12) that was particularly raucous and pestered the server unnecessarily on every last detail. He handled it with grace, so kudos to the staff. The pumpkin trio is to die for. Please don't ever take that off the menu.

This was our second time visiting the Terrace Dining Room for their 5 course meal with wine pairing and we were not disappointed. Every course was a unique creation of their great chef, they were all different but went well together to create a very nice meal - loved every course! Their choice of wines really complemented the food. The service was as good as the food, we were never rushed and truly enjoyed the evening. We will be back.

I was expecting a very nice meal at Terrace and was very disappointed. I had the lamb which was dry and tasteless. The potatoes were very much underdone (inedible) although the root veggies were nice. My husband had the salmon and enjoyed his meal. It is impossible to create a nice dining ambience due to the close proximity of the sports bar. If there is a game on TV and enthusiastic watchers, it creates inevitable noise. Fortunately the night we dined it was noisy to start but then cleared out.

The menu looked amazing. We arrived at 7:30, half an hour later, our orders were taken. Shortly after, our wine arrived, however bread/appis did not arrive until around 8:30. At this point we were quite hungry. The truffle soup was very good. The escargot were rubbery, however. When our dinner finally came around 9:15 it was disheartening. The maple duck was so soaked in maple sauce that the duck flavor was lost, and the poor bird tasted like a maple smoked deli meat from Safeway. The gnocchi was mushy and flavorless. The sous vide lamb was dry (needed to saw at it with the knife) and was so overpowered by the mustard rub that I could not eat it. The vegetables were good though. To be fair, maybe it was a bad night for them?

We enjoyed our dinner on a very quiet Sunday night. Our meals were very delicious and were obviously made with a lot of care and attention to appearance. Our server was mostly attentive, though I think she got lost or sidetracked when we were done with our meal, as our empty plates sat in front of us for longer than I would have expected. *Here's a TIP* - ask for a table far away from the lounge as it can be noisy otherwise!

We knew we were in for a real treat when they served the complimentary bread with balsamic lemon butter along with Pinot noir sea salts. The flavors just burst in our mouths. I must say the rest of the meal did not disappoint either. I loved the ambience of the restaurant and the service was bang on if you take out the large business group that had congregated in the lounge beside the restaurant. They were loud and rowdy. In hind sight, they should have seated us further around the corner away from the lounge but I don't remember if the empty tables were cleared off when we arrived. Other than that, it was a wonderful evening. We are regular foodies and seldom give out 5 stars. This restaurant will definitely be added to our Banff favorite!

Chose this restaurant in the Banff Park Lodge based on other reviews. Very quiet on a Tuesday evening. We selected the 5 course meal offered with the wine pairings. Each course of the meal was delicious with fresh and varied offerings. The vegetables were cooked to perfection with full flavors. The protein variety of arctic char, quail and lamb duo were also well prepared. The dessert trio was amazing - the sorbet being my favorite with fresh fruit flavor. Next time we would choose the 5 course meal again but would choose our own wine rather then the pairing. Discovered a great new Okanagan wine in See Ya Later Pinot 3.

We celebrated our 6th Anniversary on Saturday night. Was surprised that the restaurant was hidden or tucked past the bar/pub of hotel. Bar was fairly quiet except of a couple of rowdy boys coming in and out of pool, outside for a smoke and the bar for a drink. They made a couple rounds while we were there. Whatever. Service was good. Only two wait staff for a busy restaurant at around 7:30-8(was full). I tried the Bon appetite menu that they were featuring. LOVED the salad w candied nits and beet chips!!! My main was delish as well, polenta and bison(I think...maybe elk). Dessert, I cose the vanilla trio. Brûlée was perfect and the beignet was decent and the panna cotta had too much gelatin and not quit enough vanilla flavor(vanilla beans).

My husband and I went to the Terrace as it was part of our Travelzoo deal. We knew before that it was pricey ($35-40 an entree) so we decided to go for drinks and dessert. I had a glass of wine and my husband had a Banff coffee, both of which were fairly good. We ordered the cheese board as well and were thoroughly disappointed. It did not come with fresh bread as stated on the menu. There were 4 different types of cheese on the board (two small pieces of each), along with a few strawberries, some candied nuts, and tiny apple slices. We only liked 1 of the cheeses and the apples tasted like onion. We also ordered the caramel cheesecake which was good. Overall, we will not go back because of the poor quality compared to the price.

Overall a very nice place. The only complaint I have is that there were a number of fairly noisy kids, which I did not expect in a higher-end, higher-priced restaurant like this. My wife and I were there on our anniversary, and the distraction of the small kids (some under a year old) distracted somewhat from the ambience.

The food and service were excellent. Even though we dined late and were the last to leave, the noise level was a bit high as the dining area is open to the bar area. It wouldn't have been so bad without a large crowd at the bar. Don't let this deter you, the food was delicious.

Chef's menu is not real extensive; but, choices are uniquely different, and very creative. Presentation very artistic; but, do not detract from the great taste experience. Service is pleasantly attentive. Elk medallions were a first experience, and excellent. Escargot ravioli another positive. Room is essentially an atrium, with an uninspiring view during daylight. Make your reservations after dark. During our dinner there were two large groups of business men dining. Very loud. Fortunately, they finished early; and quiet, romantic ambience prevailed.

Really fabulous little place. We enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend to anyone. It's very small (less than 20 tables) so make sure you make a reservation just in case. The evening really stood out for us because it was our 19th anniversary and the restaurant surprised us with a little creme brule to share and wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate in chocolate. A very nice touch that we appreciated. Might not be great for little kids, as the menu is a little more sophisticated.
