"I have been to Terrace Cafe at South Park, and this was the first visit to Ballantyne. While I enjoyed my experience at South Park, the Ballantyne experience was not up to par this past weekend. The food is good, perhaps not as good as South Park, in my opinion. Biscuits were nice with pepper jam when initially warm, but then they cooled to a chewy, tough consistency. Main courses arrived quickly, but the service was spotty. At times, our server was friendly and at other times, she was unattentive or her mind seemed elsewhere when she served us. We felt a bit rushed through our meal even though it was not a busy Friday night, and there were empty tables."

"This is a good neighborhood restaurant. The bar area and restaurant are too small to have live (LOUD) music. Save money and ditch the live music."

"What happened to the food at this place? It was really good at the other location last year? The curried chicken was inedible, the slaw horrible and the fried pineapple- not good either. The salad was good. The dessert- nothing special!"

"This is the 2nd time dining at Terrace Ballantyne and I'm sorry to say that it's disappointing. The chef(s) here are simply not as good as their Southpark location. We ate outside (which is great atmosphere) but the food doesn't deliver in the same way as Southpark. Appetizers of fried green tomatoes and fried scallops were overdone. Entrees were grouper, hanger steak, salmon and pork. The pork dish was the best out all of them and had a very good flavor, bt the other dishes were just average. We skipped dessert since the experience was not great. Hopefully they can better train their chefs and improve the menu options to have less fried foods and more lighter fare - especially for a Spring menu."

"Dinner was actually very good. The problem was that the meat portions were small and they tried to subsidized that with extra large potato portions. Their music, much like the appetizer menu, seemed all over the place going from Grease's Summer Lovin' to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and fried green tomatoes to hummus. The Blue Crab Bisque was absolutely delicious, so if you go, try it. Overall, it was good, I just don't think it was good enough to justify a recommendation, especially given their price point. That being said, I'll probably end up trying brunch at Terrace Cafe."

"It's always a solid experience with nicely prepared food that has quality and fresh ingredients. I think their lunch is better than their dinner, as their soups and sandwiches are divine. I had the Fried Chicken for dinner and it was very yummy, but the portion of chicken was a tad small. The green beans on the side were a tad rubbery, which was odd for Terrace. The mashed potatoes were great, however.

This is something stupid to pick on, but I despise their water/soda glasses. They are not a vertical straight glass, but rather they have a slight curve (looks good, I guess), but they are awkward to grab and drink from. Looks cool, but not practical for the diner. Get rid of those!

Wish they had a dessert case like their other location"

"Had an "OK" dinner w. my son. Service was very good, food just OK. He had the burger - very good, I had the veal dejon which was nothing to write home about. Our shared humas appitizer was ok, not bad but nothing special. Our server did a great job, everything at the right pace and level of attention. Our table was near the kitchen which was disappointing as we had reservations and the couple that arrived just ahead of us was seated at a nice window table. I would think that walk in's would get the lesser desirable tables vs those that make reservations - something the hostess should be briefed on for the future. We might return again - for burgers / finger food, but not for any of the top entree's."
