A word from Terra Waconia
Every day we strive to bring the freshest most thoughtfully grown ingredients to the plate. We demonstrate our respect for nature and those who passionately tend to it through well crafted food that is presented simply. Our menu is written daily and is derived from a wide variety of products that are brought to our door by dozens of small growers. This menu concept allows us to purchase in small quantities, reducing waste and ensuring freshness. Cutting in house gives us the opportunity to use every part of the ethically and sustainably grown animals we choose. We do our best to approach each day and every ingredient with curiosity and wonder rather than expectation. Our skilled and knowledgeable staff will guide you through our ever changing menu as well as offer insight into what we are most proud of today. Let the unknown excite you! Continued

  • "Another taste treat for the palate at Terra Waconia. The food, wine and service hit the mark. Thank you Craig and Tracy - dining at Terra Waconia was truly a birthday treat!!!"

  • "Wow. Terra just continues to amaze. They have such passion for sustainable foods, creative combinations and beautiful presentations. The 82 hour goat shank was nothing short of incredible. The risotto was artful and delicious. The wines are all reasonably priced and always excellent. Terra is my destination when I want to be surprised by the food. Bravo!"

  • "Terra Waconia is one of our favorite restaurants. Craig and Tracy do a phenomenal job of creating a dining experience. We love the varying menu, the local-grown/raised ingredients, and the fabulous wines that Tracy has a knack for picking out and pairing with our menu selections."

  • "We enjoyed visiting with our server who is one of the local farmers supplying food to the table. While she had an enthusiastic personality, she had trouble explaining and remembering the selections for the evening. In fairness, the menu was extensive. We each selected different salads and entrees (bison steak, lamb shanks, pork chop, and goat meat) and found all to be delicious and well prepared. But we were very disappointed with the price of the food, more than we we have paid at a similar Twin Cities farm to table restaurant. Next time we will save on gas and frequent one closer to home. We do hope that Terra Waconia continues to succeed to serve great food to those who can afford it!"

  • "This is a great farm to table restaurant and a wonderful find. The food is spectacular. The menu changes daily. The pork chop succulent and flavorful, resting on a grits with an apple rhubarb compote. The lamb shank served with tabbouleh was 'to die for' as was the potato soup with a scallop nestled in the middle (perfection!). Salad with fresh figs - YUM. The server helped us select a fabulous wine to go with our meal. We ended with strawberry rhubarb crumble and a chocolate pot that rounded off the perfect meal. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a true dining experience and not your run of the mill eatery."

  • "Tracie and Craig keep making magic in the back room - we had a group this time so we shared appetizers, salads and deserts - everything was outstanding - for the main course a number of us had the seafood stew which was wonderful - the service was fantastic as well - can't wait to go back."

  • "This restaurant specializes in locally sourced food, even growing their own. They also sponsor a farmer's market featuring many of the vendors they use for their menu items. Ambience is wonderful, quiet, and relaxed. Normally, the food is top quality. In this instance, we were a bit disappointed. With their limited menu, they were out of several items, which made choosing a bit tricky. My partner's pork chop was almost inedible according to her (tough). My bison steak was perhaps the best I've ever had. Wines by the glass were only fair. We'll be back, but we've had much better experiences here."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in the metro area, and tops in the West metro. The good is fantastic and the staff are delightful. Worth the drive to Waconia!"

  • "We have eaten here a few times for special occasions. The owners/Chef spectacular. You feel special when you dine here. Service is the best around. The meal was not rushed. Their menu is always changing according to what is in season. I have never been disappointed. We will continue to frequent this restaurant. No it is not cheap but it is worth every cent you spend. Awesome beer choices!"

  • "There is no menu at Terra Waconia and that is what makes it most interesting. The menu is written on a chalk board and changes daily as it is dependent on local produce; local farm raised animals etc. Although it might be a bit pricey for some, you know you are getting a fresh, creative, made with love meal. "

  • "This was our third visit to Terra Waconia in the last ten weeks. It offers a quintessential seasonal, food-to-table menu that is beautifully and deliciously prepared without being pretentious. Ramps, fiddlehead ferns and morel mushrooms were the seasonal features and showcased the goat chops, bison rib eye, arctic char and vegetable risotto main courses that our party of four had. All four preparations were fantastic. The wait staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list is very interesting and well chosen as well as reasonably priced. The space itself is very charming and comfortable. Terra Waconia is definitely worth the drive from Edina and other points east. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommended."

  • "This is one of our 'go to' restaurants if we want imagination in food and wine. Craig does an outstanding job with local ingredients and has his kitchen staff always on their A game. Tracy and the staff in front of the house are attentive without being intrusive. Tracy has a great wine palate and usually has some interesting selections by the bottle or glass. The staff is well educated on what is going on in the kitchen and the wine list."

  • "This was our first visit to Terra Waconia and while the expections were high, the restaurant had no problem meeting them. The food was delicious with everything from the cheese plate to our main courses (goat, risotto with scallops, beef). It truly is a gem and we will continue to go back, especially since the menu evolves continuously based on what's fresh and in season."

  • "We were celebrating our anniversary with friends who have the same anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful evening. Terra is a gem and has replaced In Season as our favorite Twin Cities restaurant. Yes, it's a drive from Edina to Waconia but absolutely worth it. Fantastic food, a really interesting and fairly priced wine list, and charming and knowledgeable wait staff. When was the last time you had perfectly cooked mackerel or risotto made from goat stock? Get off your lazy and predictable butts and head west, you'll love it."

  • "After recommendations from a few friends, we finally made it to dinner at Terra Waconia. It was the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday dinner! We had some great spicy beans (who would have thought of that as an appetizer? ), soup, salad, 2 entrees and a dessert. All had great flavor combinations, and the wine pairing was perfect. We will definitely be back!"

  • "My husband and I visit a new restaurant every month. We live in Eagan and this month we ended up way out west in Waconia. I think we will visit Terra Waconia EVERY month from now on. This restaurant is SPECTACULAR! Every aspect..... every delicious bite, every staff interaction (even with the chef), every sip of wine, the ambiance - even the music, was fabulous. I highly recommend Terra Waconia and would give this restaurant a 5 out of 5 stars - easily placing it in my top 5 favorites in the Twin Cities. Thanks for a wonderful evening Terra Waconia! We will definitely be back."

  • "Great ambience, great service, cozy setting for an adult dinner. Staff is very knowledgeable with food and wine pairing. Food is unique and great flavor. Tasted rabbit for the first time at this restaurant in the past and it was excellent. This is a favorite restaurant for not your run of the mill menu items. It is a downtown Minneapolis food and wine experience in a suburban area. Very nice being able to have this unique experience without having to drive downtown."

  • "This was our second visit to Terra and enjoyed it again. A wonderful dinner, service, and overall experience. The food really is the star here. The flavors, combinations, and presentation were terrific. Our server was really pleasant and made some nice suggestions. We will be back to Terra and share it with friends. It is definitely out of the way, but worth the adventure our west."

  • "Fresh, creative entrees, excellent servce, Cholcolate pot de creme dessert to die for :) Entrees could have been a little more robust - we would have been hungry if we skipped dessert... Great placce for a special occasion."

  • "2 of us had the goat entree and it was the toughest meat imaginable. Hard to cut. Very hard to chew. The third member of our group had the steak which was well done-not what she requested. The 4th member had risotto which was excellent. This was not what we have experienced at Terra in the past-which has been excellent. The carrot cake was out of this world great!!!"

  • "It was a great experience. Quiet fine dining without the crazy arrogance of requiring your patrons to put on a suit or formal gown to enjoy the atmosphere. Smaller plates that allow you to leave satisfied rather than uncomfortably full. A place to trust the chief, if they recommend it, try it, you wont be disappointed. Put it on your bucket list."
