Terra WaconiaTerra Waconia ReviewOverall good experience and good food. My only issue was that they don't have menus. The server has to tell you verbally all the menu items and explain them. By the time it's all explained it's hard to recall what was what. Even our server had to keep checking their menu notes. I believe the menu changes often, so maybe that explains why there isn't one, although it would be nice if they could find a way to provide one. Also, I didn't even see the "chalkboard" with the prices, although thankfully my dining partner did. Again, a menu would be helpful to see the prices.
Overall, the food was great and the staff was very pleasant.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAll Around GreatWe had a great experience at Terra. The food was OUTSTANDING and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this to all of my friends; in fact, I already have. I look forward to going back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMaybe Best Meal of our Lives! We have been to Terra 5 times now and it has always been great. The food this time was somehow even better. I had a Goat Shank dish which is easily one of the top dishes I can remember having anywhere. The crazy part was that my wife had a Tile Fish dish which might have been the best thing I have ever tasted! The deserts were perfect and the fun apps were really nice. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable and we had a great time with him.
The moment we left, we wanted to turn around and do it all over. Can't wait to get back!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal EleganceWe loved that most of the food was local. It was a special occasion and this place was fancy enough and unique that it fit our special occasion.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNever ordinary, Always delicious! We visited Terra Waconia on Saturday, May 25. As always, the menu included extremely fresh locally grown items; which in this instance included tasty salads made with local wild greens. For my entree, I ordered the bison osso bucco. It was phenomenally flavorful and tender. My husband had the salmon -- not local, but it's his favorite food and he couldn't resist. He rated it outstanding. Our server recommended a nice, not-too-expensive red wine that went well with both dishes.
The ambience was lively and comfortable, not too noisy.
We loved this restaurant and look forward to bringing food-loving friends there!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSpring greenUse of the fresh spring greens was innovative and delicious. Most restaurants don't pay enough attention to pairing the dressing with ingredients, but this was perfect. Speaking of pairings, a sparkling sake with my rhubarb crisp ended this wonderful meal perfectly.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFarm to tableLimited menu - uses only farm to table ingredients; creative, smaller portions, unique flavors, delicious.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will be back! This was our second trip...loved trying new food and the waitstaff were so friendly and professional.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a find!Trying to find great places to eat that aren't right in the heart of the city is very difficult. I found it here. We were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary and found Terra Waconia.
The locally sourced menu offered some great options. Their wine selection was great and they provided some great recommendations. We started with a delicious cheese plate and then moved on to an amazing salad. From there I had the goat with couscous and my wife had the ravioli. Perfect.
The service was great -- attentive, and eager to answer any questions.
You can tell this is a place that loves what they do and cares about their industry.
We will be back, again and again. What a find!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPairingThe food and service are always outstanding. What is lost is how throughout the wine list is. It is clear the food and wine are sells red together which is not the case at many fine dining restaurants where they develop both independently.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMterraGreat food and service. We truly enjoyed the experience of dining here.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect little gem!Charming urban treasure in Waconia. Perfect ambiance, really unique food, great experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI am so glad that my motherI am so glad that my mother and I ventured out to Waconia for Terra. I love the fact that it is a farm to table restaurant and that it has a smaller menu that changes regularly. If we had to live in restaurants, this would be my dream place! The service and ambiance was wonderful. My waiter was extremely informative (and smelled great, too!). And the food, oh the food. It was incredible. I loved the addition of spring produce. I think it is safe to say that I will be back again soon!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visit to Terra lastSecond visit to Terra last weekend. We LOVED it!!! (But didnt try the goat ;)3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMYouthful Wisdom~Fresh, local and ever changing entrees sets Terra apart from other restaurants! My son, his girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly prepared roasted cauliflower, flank steak, salmon and goat entrees. I feel that if 18 year olds recognize truly freshly prepared food then think of how many more people could be experiencing Terra in Waconia and make it their next dining destination favorite!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the best food I'veThis was the best food I've had in a long time, and we even eat at nice places regularly. We live in Waconia and hadn't been for awhile, apparently forgetting just what a gem it is. How fortunate for us. Even the salad was memorable! Wow!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWaconia's hidden gemThe service and food were awesome. The atmosphere was very quiet and they made you feel like you were the only customer in the restaurant. Definitely will go back again.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first experienceThis was our first experience and it was amazing. The food was definitely the star. The menu changes daily but for reference, we have pulled beef nachos as a starter - A+. We each had a salad- mine featuring pork belly and my husbands had fresh local chèvre. Both were delicious with a great mix of flavors. For our main courses, we selected rabbit with gnocchi and flank steak with steamed carrots and Brussels spouts. Again, wonderful flavors and great pairing of ingredients. The meat was cooked perfectly as well.
The atmosphere is great for a date night and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back again and again!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTerra is a neighborhood GemTerra is a neighborhood Gem worth the drive. I have yet to experience a meal that was less than amazing. Our table of 4 dined on: Goat, Rabbit & Steel Head Trout. Just another ordinary Thursday night! You can feel safe to try new things in this Chef's capable hands.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
