  • "As always, the food was fabulous. We really enjoy local products prepared wonderfully."

  • "This was our first visit to Terra Waconia and while the expections were high, the restaurant had no problem meeting them. The food was delicious with everything from the cheese plate to our main courses (goat, risotto with scallops, beef). It truly is a gem and we will continue to go back, especially since the menu evolves continuously based on what's fresh and in season."

  • "We were celebrating our anniversary with friends who have the same anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful evening. Terra is a gem and has replaced In Season as our favorite Twin Cities restaurant. Yes, it's a drive from Edina to Waconia but absolutely worth it. Fantastic food, a really interesting and fairly priced wine list, and charming and knowledgeable wait staff. When was the last time you had perfectly cooked mackerel or risotto made from goat stock? Get off your lazy and predictable butts and head west, you'll love it."

  • "After recommendations from a few friends, we finally made it to dinner at Terra Waconia. It was the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday dinner! We had some great spicy beans (who would have thought of that as an appetizer? ), soup, salad, 2 entrees and a dessert. All had great flavor combinations, and the wine pairing was perfect. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Tracy, Craig and the gang out did themselves again - great wine - fantastic food - what a way to kickoff the weekend! Thanks to the Terra Waconia staff for another great experience!"

  • "My husband and I visit a new restaurant every month. We live in Eagan and this month we ended up way out west in Waconia. I think we will visit Terra Waconia EVERY month from now on. This restaurant is SPECTACULAR! Every aspect..... every delicious bite, every staff interaction (even with the chef), every sip of wine, the ambiance - even the music, was fabulous. I highly recommend Terra Waconia and would give this restaurant a 5 out of 5 stars - easily placing it in my top 5 favorites in the Twin Cities. Thanks for a wonderful evening Terra Waconia! We will definitely be back."

  • "Great ambience, great service, cozy setting for an adult dinner. Staff is very knowledgeable with food and wine pairing. Food is unique and great flavor. Tasted rabbit for the first time at this restaurant in the past and it was excellent. This is a favorite restaurant for not your run of the mill menu items. It is a downtown Minneapolis food and wine experience in a suburban area. Very nice being able to have this unique experience without having to drive downtown."

  • "This was our second visit to Terra and enjoyed it again. A wonderful dinner, service, and overall experience. The food really is the star here. The flavors, combinations, and presentation were terrific. Our server was really pleasant and made some nice suggestions. We will be back to Terra and share it with friends. It is definitely out of the way, but worth the adventure our west."

  • "We love the food and the service. Very intimate setting. The food is always so good and everything so fresh from local farms/ dairies."

  • "Fresh, creative entrees, excellent servce, Cholcolate pot de creme dessert to die for :) Entrees could have been a little more robust - we would have been hungry if we skipped dessert... Great placce for a special occasion."

  • "2 of us had the goat entree and it was the toughest meat imaginable. Hard to cut. Very hard to chew. The third member of our group had the steak which was well done-not what she requested. The 4th member had risotto which was excellent. This was not what we have experienced at Terra in the past-which has been excellent. The carrot cake was out of this world great!!!"

  • "It was a great experience. Quiet fine dining without the crazy arrogance of requiring your patrons to put on a suit or formal gown to enjoy the atmosphere. Smaller plates that allow you to leave satisfied rather than uncomfortably full. A place to trust the chief, if they recommend it, try it, you wont be disappointed. Put it on your bucket list."

  • "Craig is still making magic in the kitchen, Tracy directs you through the food options and recommends the right wine to go with the food note. The staff ensures you are welcome and sees to all your needs. Thank you for another outstanding evening in downtown Waconia Terra Waconia!"

  • "This was well worth the drive out on a cold winter night. Wonderful apps of soup, beautifully small cupped for each of us, warm olives, and a nice selection of well-presented local cheeses. The salad course was nicely presented with fresh crisp greens. The main course of tile fish with a light sauce of basil seeds in coconut milk was gorgeously presented and delicious. The 7 meat wrapped in bacon meatloaf was an interesting combination of flavors. The kitchen happily made a side of the vegetarian risotto dish that was again beautifully presented and delicious. The wine selection is obviously carefully chosen, priced at the low to mid-range of cost for food of this quality. We had two very nice Spanish wines a Rioja and Priorat."

  • "First of all, I live in Eden Prairie/Minnetonka area and this was worth the drive! Terra Waconia is a fabulous restaurant! No need to go into the city for a great foodie experience. I have eaten at some of the top restaurants all over the world and Terra Waconia is right up there. From the helpful staff to the innovative chef with his choices and preparation - truly delicious. And the cost of the meal was so reasonable. You MUST go!"

  • "The food was excellent, melt in your mouth tender meats, and vibrant delicious salads and appetizers. We really appreciate Terra Waconia's commitment to buying locally sourced food. We recently had the best cassoulet ever and delicious goat kabobs. I highly recommend this place!"

  • "Chef Craig made a masterpiece and I was very fortunate to get their in time for the last one. A Cassoulet with duck broth, house made merguez and the 21 day confit duck was unreal. He also made a special dish for my friend that is on a special diet, which she was astounded by with such short notice. Tracy made a fantastic dark chocolate brownie sundae that was so decadent it should be sin taxed. I thank you both and the fantastic service that is always present."

  • "We really enjoyed our experience!! The flavor of the food was amazing. The menu was very unique and I probably played it a little safe, but still enjoyed my entre. My wife went for a more creative dish and it was awesome. Don't be afraid to take a risk on the menu. Everything was great!!"

  • "I brought a couple who had never been. They were initially intrigued by the ordering method, sans menu, but quickly understood as some of the offerings changed while we were there. They commented on the eclectic wine selection and how Tracy paired things exceptionally well."

  • "We were very impressed with the food and ambience offered by Terra in Waconia. Who would guess such a lovely dining experience could be found in the rural burb of Waconia? The restaurant is quaint and familial. The food, amazing. On the menu the night we visited, our main course options included pork, a perfectly prepared bison steak, rabbit, one of the best meatloaf plates we've tasted, a vegetarian option and moonfish. Interesting appetizers were great for a cold winter night: warmed olives and nuts, baked cauliflower, steamed mussels."

  • "Our first visit to Terra Waconia will definitely not be our last! Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was so delicious and flavorful. The combination and the freshness of the ingredients was sublime. The service was wonderful and the setting was charming."

  • "Terra is outstanding. It a cozy little place tucked away on main street in Waconia. My friend and I shared the cheese plate and the beet salad. Nummy! and I'm not even a fan of beets. For my main course I had Rabbit, yup rabbit, it was served over some purple potatoes. Oh my gosh was it delicious, tender and not gamy at all. My friend had Moonfish, which neither of us had ever heard of. She is not an adventurous eater at all but loved this fish. It was firm like a steak. Lastly for dessert, Crème Brule. Big winner in my book, the crust was perfect! I will most definitely go back."

  • "My husband and I love Terra and continue to be drawn back for more! The food is well thought out to every last detail and the localness of the product (is that a word?) is noticed in every bite. The chef came and spoke to us and it was obvious he loves what he does and wants you to enjoy the food and experience. Great neighborhood Gem!!!"

  • "Tracy and Craig continue to deliver - the house was full and vibrant - the food was outstanding and the wine Tracy suggested paired perfectly. We really enjoy the verbal menu delivery and the food coming out of the kitchen not only looks great - it tastes great. Thank you Tracy and Craig for another great evening!"

  • "After reading other reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. The waitress was new, didn't know the menu, didn't know the wines and the food for our party of six did not come at the same time. Thus 2 people waited while the rest of us ate. I wouldn't go again."

  • "We find ourselves in the Waconia area visiting family at least once a year and not a visit goes by that we don't stop in and have a lovely dinner at Terra. The ambiance is wonderful in the chill of winter or on a warm summer day. Foodies will love the ever changing menu. When going to Terra always order an appetizer, soup or salad, and your entree. You won't be disappointed. We feel the value is terrific compared to restaurants in any major city."

  • "This is a very special place. Delicious, locally grown food, prepared in a gourmet manner. Nicely paced dining. Portions are just the right size. Great service."

  • "This is a great place for locavore foodies and lovers of interesting and relatively inexpensive wines that you won't find elsewhere. Some of the classics like the braised rabbit with purple potato gnocchi are so good that you're tempted to order them every time--but then you'd miss the fabulous bison osso buco or the amazing pork chop! The appetizers and salads are crafted with care and the cheese plate and desserts are a very satisfying end to the meal. We enjoy the constantly changing menu and the inventiveness of vegetarian options, new uses for "old" vegetables and the occasional appearance of unusual items like sweetbreads on the menu. The service is attentive and well-informed but not hovering and the ambience is quite nice."

  • "We decided to schedule a special time for coffee/dessert with a friend who had not been here. It was so pleasant, clean and comfy, with friendly faces greeting us. The enticement of the desserts offered grew exciting as we made our choices. They immediately informed us our coffee was brewing, with a special 'cream', if desired. One choice was 'Apple Crumble with Ice Cream' and was beautiful in its white dish. Another was indescribably delicious - chocolate & caramel together. It was a very special experience for a chilly evening!"

  • "Date night. Instead of visiting the downtown scene, I figured staying out in the 'burbs was a good idea. Wow. Just Wow! The ambience is very intimate. The space is small, but beautifully appointed. i was enjoying the tin ceiling, and the artwork framing the experience. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. The chalkboard menu was minimally instructive, more or less just an indicator of the main ingredient, but the server explained it all with much detail. Everything we had was phenomenal. I would put this up against anything in MSP. My favorite over many worthy adversaries."

  • "I'm always surprised as to why this restaurant gets overlooked in top restaurant rankings. Perhaps it's because of its somewhat obscure, small town location. Food is locally sourced and fresh, much more so than Heartland. Menu is inventive with items like Rabbit and Goat. Wine list is short but really quite special. Service is exquisite. One of the things we like about this place is that they stagger their seatings so that essentially only half the tables are taken at any one time. This creates space and reduces the noise."

  • "A great experience. I especially loved the mussels."

  • "Service was excellent. Food was very well prepared and tasty but the jambalaya(entre) portion was small for a 185lb. male. My wife had a cod entre and it was very well seasoned, the portion was fine for a 100lb female. Produce is fresh and excellent quality and the mussels appetizer were excellent. judging by the quality of the crowd they could raise their food costs and prices slightly and deliver a superior experience."
