Every day we strive to bring the freshest most thoughtfully grown ingredients to the plate. We demonstrate our respect for nature and those who passionately tend to it through well crafted food that is presented simply. Our menu is written daily and is derived from a wide variety of products that are brought to our door by dozens of small growers. This menu concept allows us to purchase in small quantities, reducing waste and ensuring freshness. Cutting in house gives us the opportunity to use every part of the ethically and sustainably grown animals we choose. We do our best to approach each day and every ingredient with curiosity and wonder rather than expectation.   • "What a gem of a spot. My husband and I went with another couple and we all had different dishes. Each was wonderful and inventive in their preparation and pairings. Thoughtful and interesting beer menu which compliments the food nicely. The sole criticism is that the menu is only listed on a chalkboard over the bar and is not conducive to viewing depending on where you are seated and your eyesight. This requires the server to describe the entire menu at each table. This would not deter me from visiting again, but know that service may be impacted for those new to the restaurant."

  • "Brought some newbies to Terra Waconia and they now have a new favorite restaurant! As usual Chef Craig was at the top of his game. We enjoyed his hanger steak and salmon preparations with the must have spicy goat stew, which is phenomenal! Tracy is always a gift of energy, knowledge and fun. Do yourself a favor, make a drive to Waconia and enjoy a wonderful evening at Terra Waconia."

  • "We enjoyed our food but it wasn't spectacular. The veggie app was kind of strange with balsamic and cheese melted over vegetables. The goat entree was a little flavorless and perhaps a little rare. The pork chop was very good. The chocolate dessert was excellent. The dessert was the best part of the meal. I'll go back but not anytime soon."

  • "I took my brother from California here for his birthday celebration. They did not disappoint. We shared 2 bottles of wine, apps, salads, desserts and a taste of our main course. there were three of us. we had the cheese plate, blt salad and the beet salad. BLt - need I say more. I know some may say ish to a beet salad but try it!! I'm not a beet fan but LOVED this salad. Brother had Bison, lordy was it large and in charge. So delicious. My friend had the pork chop, swear it was the size of my head, with potatoes and sweet and sour cabbage, absolutely delish. I had shrimp with grits an squash, nummy for my tummy!! The desserts were a blueberry cobbler, reminds you of grandma and a chocolaty little pot of heaven."

  • "If this restaurant were located in Minneapolis or St. Paul, there would be a line out the door every night. If you have never been to Waconia, make a day out of it. There are some great vineyards out this way to stop at during the day and then have dinner at Terra. Every meal I have ever had there has be fabulous! Definitely worth the drive if you don't live nearby!"

  • "This is a great farm to table restaurant and a wonderful find. The food is spectacular. The menu changes daily. The pork chop succulent and flavorful, resting on a grits with an apple rhubarb compote. The lamb shank served with tabbouleh was 'to die for' as was the potato soup with a scallop nestled in the middle (perfection!). Salad with fresh figs - YUM. The server helped us select a fabulous wine to go with our meal. We ended with strawberry rhubarb crumble and a chocolate pot that rounded off the perfect meal. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a true dining experience and not your run of the mill eatery."

While she had an enthusiastic personality, she had trouble explaining and remembering the selections for the evening. In fairness, the menu was extensive. We each selected different salads and entrees (bison steak, lamb shanks, pork chop, and goat meat) and found all to be delicious and well prepared. But we were very disappointed with the price of the food, more than we we have paid at a similar Twin Cities farm to table restaurant. Next time we will save on gas and frequent one closer to home. We do hope that Terra Waconia continues to succeed to serve great food to those who can afford it!"

  • "This restaurant specializes in locally sourced food, even growing their own. They also sponsor a farmer's market featuring many of the vendors they use for their menu items. Ambience is wonderful, quiet, and relaxed. Normally, the food is top quality. In this instance, we were a bit disappointed. With their limited menu, they were out of several items, which made choosing a bit tricky. My partner's pork chop was almost inedible according to her (tough). My bison steak was perhaps the best I've ever had. Wines by the glass were only fair. We'll be back, but we've had much better experiences here."

Their menu is always changing according to what is in season. I have never been disappointed. We will continue to frequent this restaurant. No it is not cheap but it is worth every cent you spend.   • "This was our third visit to Terra Waconia in the last ten weeks. It offers a quintessential seasonal, food-to-table menu that is beautifully and deliciously prepared without being pretentious. Ramps, fiddlehead ferns and morel mushrooms were the seasonal features and showcased the goat chops, bison rib eye, arctic char and vegetable risotto main courses that our party of four had. All four preparations were fantastic. The wait staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list is very interesting and well chosen as well as reasonably priced. The space itself is very charming and comfortable. Terra Waconia is definitely worth the drive from Edina and other points east. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommended."

Tracy and the staff in front of the house are attentive without being intrusive. Tracy has a great wine palate and usually has some interesting selections by the bottle or glass. The staff is well educated on what is going on in the kitchen and the wine list."
