Terra Waconia does a wonderful job of offering really wonderful food, service, and avoiding being stuffy or pretentious. The farm to table approach is beautifully executed. Our group of 4 all thought our entree's were wonderfully designed and prepared. I really appreciate their thoughtful, reasonably priced wine list. They have searched out unique, food friendly wines which are also reasonably priced. Well Done!

Great food and atmosphere experience. When we arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night, there were two other couples dining. They both left an hour later so we had the place to ourselves until we left at 10:15. The bison was a bit tough, but otherwise our meals were a big success - really well put together. Wait staff seemed a bit uneasy, but otherwise pleasant. The meal was a bit expensive and there was wine and beer only.

Brought a small group of friends for their first visit to Terra Waconia. They live close by but had not been there. Initial impressions were made by our server Nikki who did an outstanding job walking us through the menu. The wine list is very very eclectic and obviously has had a lot of thought put into it. The presentation and taste of the food brought oohs and ahs from my party all night. Tracy stopped by to greet the table and received raves about their experience.

Their focus seems to be on making the food look good. The sea bass was very good, but their portions are small. The pork chop was seared to the point it was inedible (they comped it). They also refused to accommodate a special request to separate the pork from the veggies for our party member who doesn't like cabbage, resulting in cancelling the order and he left early to find food elsewhere. Their wine list is interesting but they didn't have a lot of what was on the menu or said it was their last bottle. Our waitress had to constantly check if they had certain bottles of wine and beer in stock. Overall the food was decent (except, of course, for the pork) but the restaurant seemed a bit pretentious for Waconia.

I really have enjoyed eating here in the past. That being said, we have yet to have all of our plates arrive in satisfactory shape. This time, a steal requested medium arrived very rare, and the other plates had sat and were luke warm. When this place is on, it's fantastic. When it's not, it's dissapointing considering the high prices. The service was very slow and inattentive.

We went here because the reviews were so good. We were pretty disappointed. They ran out of food by the time we got there (8pm) which is pretty early. We ordered a bottle of wine and they were out of a second bottle of that same wine. It was very loud in there-they have wood floors and a metal ceiling so that noise really carries. The portions were small but pretty tasty. The menu is on one chalkboard behind the bar which is hard to read from all areas of the restaurant so we had to hear about the options multiple times (plus it was hard to hear our server as she was explaining the menu). All in all-ok but not great.

This was our first dining experience at Terra Waconia and we were very, very pleased! Our reservation was on a Wednesday night which I'm sure added to the quietness. Menu options, presentation and taste were all exceptional! I enjoyed the roasted rabbit (unusual choice on a menu, to say the least) that was served on a bed of cubed, roasted celery root. Well worth the trip to Waconia to enjoy this small, intimate choice!
