"I love Terra, even when I'm not totally blown away. It's the rare small, excellent, unpretentious, personal French restaurant. There are very few places, maybe no others in Charlotte, where I have to agonize over choosing an app from among foie gras, sweetbreads, duck two ways, or frogs legs, all perfectly and creatively executed. My only disappointment this trip was from expecting something "new" with lamb osso buco, which turned out to be a very conventional, if excellent, braised lamb shank. The wine list is a bit short and pricey, but that's a minor sin. I'll be back."

"Food was good but overpriced for the quality. We had a $100 gift certificate. Our meal and drinks totaled less than the amount of the gift certificate and the staff refused to either give us future credit for the difference or allow us to us the difference toward the gratuity. Seems unreasonable since the gift certificate was purchased for cash. Seems like cash should be fungible."

"Favorite restaurant in Charlotte. We have known the owner for years and can't say enough great things about him, his staff, chef, and our overall dining experience each time we go. Terra is a great place to go for celebrations or an easy meal out, depending on what you're in the mood for. Be sure to go, and I promise it won't disappoint!"

"Our favorite spot in the whole city. Consistenty excellent wine and cuisine without pretension. We celebrate all of our special occasions at Terra because we know with confidence we'll leave fully satisfied with our meal and the service. Their Duo de Canard appetizer (duck pate alongside smoked duck, drizzled in truffle honey) makes my mouth and heart sing from the very beginning of the meal, and it only gets better from there."

"We went day after Valentine's. Tip: never go out for Valentine's on Valentine's Day. Anyway, we love Terra and the fun part is how they change up the preparation of some of their standards like foie gras and sweetbreads. This time, the foie gras was wrapped in very then potato strips which formed a basket around the foie gras and then flash fried creating a crisp potato basket around foie gras that was perfectly seared on the outside and yet rare on the inside. This was perched atop shredded braised duck breast. Phenomenal. The sweetbreads were basically stirred up in a red wine based sauce with some stewed onions and served on layers of philo pastry. The other highlight of the night was the stuffed lobster."
