Terra PlataBirthday SurpriseHow delightful that the person whose Birthday we were celebrating had their name on the menu! Great greeting that kicked off a great evening of wonderful food and celebration. The tables closer to rest rooms are quoted than those in front, so it all worked out perfectly.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic clean eatingMy friend and I came as part of our weekend away, and she has quite a few food sensitivities that could have ruined the rest of our evening/weekend. The menu was simple and straightforward, allowing her to know exactly what she would be encountering in her meal. The roasted grapes were absolutely incredible, she thoroughly enjoyed her pork belly, I have never had better scallops in my life, and the bread and chocolate terrine were fantastic. I made a serious glutton out of myself, and I am totally okay with it.
Seating was a little tight, but now that I have experienced the food and service, I can understand why the owner has chosen to get as many tables in there as possible. I am hoping to bring my husband there very soon.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBig Tuna!Loved the albacore. As well as the mimosa's with Elderflower liquor. Delish! I'll be back next time I'm in town. Love the area as well, super cute!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back!Fantastic experience. Roast pig amazing as was everything else we ordered. Also great cocktails.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting and Great FoodBoth the food and cocktail menus had interesting dishes and drinks. The atmosphere was great and we would like to go back in the summer to take advantage of the upstairs outdoor deck.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal perfectionFrom the cocktails to dessert, our evening at Terra Plata could not have been closer to perfect. The staff were friendly, the ambiance delightful, and food was outstanding. Every dish was executed and presented flawlessly. Thanks for making our Sunday evening a beautiful (and delicious) memory!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotUnfortunately we were aweek too early for the roof deck, but had a wonderful meal. Attentive wait staff treated us like family, the food was fabulous. We'll be back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFun spot to eatIt is always fun to eat there...good energy, interesting, great neighborhood.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant & interesting - recommendWent in for lunch just after 12 noon - quiet but alive. Excellent food, served quickly and presented attractively. Very helpful and aware of gluten-free requirements for my wife.
Warm and friendly server, attentive throughout the meal.
Felt the food was just a little on the pricey side for amount served...no biggie but in these days, every penny counts.
Will definitely visit again.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst of all the food is delicious.First of all the food is delicious. Second of all, the food is delicious! We have loved everything we've tried here: hangar steak, halibut, clams, oysters, stuffed dates, deep-fried peppers and Brussels sprouts.... Staff is friendly and professional and we love the look of the space. This place immediately made our "let's go someplace special" list.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated our wedding anniversaryCelebrated our wedding anniversary here. Incredible food all round, decent wine list, attentive service and energetic ambience. Highly recommended for foodies. Will surely come back to try out the other dishes. Well done Terra Plata.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSeattle HighlightWe enjoyed our experience at Terra Plata, start to finish. Despite reserving through Open Table, we were called back to confirm. The table was ready when we arrived and we were greeted with friendliness and respect. All the dishes were excellent and arrived in a timely manner. The combinations of flavours were interesting and complemented each other well. The service was warm and efficient but not invasive. We had the impression of being well taken care of but not intruded upon. The room was beautiful from a design point of view, rustic but cozy. Perhaps the only downside was the noise level, but my husband and I could still carry on a conversation without screaming! Altogether a fun and lively ambiance.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and very attentiveExcellent food and very attentive staff. At for this visit, the slowness issues seem to,have been solved. It was strangely slow for a Friday night, so perhaps some of the buzz has worn off. But the seasonal fiddlehead ferns were very fine? Accommodated our own wine.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive, small portions, but tastyThe food was very tasty but the portion sizes were way to small! The bill was $300 and we were starving after.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA Wonder on Capital HillWonderful Mediterranean flavors, terrific service and a happy warm ambiance. Lovely, lovely dinner!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMbirthday at Terra PlataI was eating across the street last month when I saw this restaurant. Immediately it went on my "to-eat" list. I scheduled it for my birthday and it was a very good meal. Every dish my friends and I had was tender and juicy. I had the roasted pig and that pork rind was DELICIOUS! Service was very good and everyone was very friendly.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgood neighborhood restaurant-good neighborhood restaurant- great to meet friends.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI love trying the new thingsI love trying the new things on the menu. The scallop crudo was fabulous - the flavors and textures blended perfectly. Also tried the kale which was delicious. Tamara Murphy's cappelletti has always been superb and just melts in your mouth which was again true at this dinner. The wine selection is excellent, has something for everyone and is affordable and really compliments the food. We choose a Chateau Mangot St. Emilion this night which was awesome and I will get again. Service is always friendly and professional.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the food. Would haveWe loved the food. Would have liked larger portions for some but there were 5 of us sharing., however, the flavors were wonderful. This was an excellent place to enjoy a fine meal with old friends.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time there. NotMy first time there. Not crowded at lunch time, but an easy walk from my office. I suspect the noise level would pick up in the evening.
We really liked the food selection and we were very happy with our choices. We look forward to trying Terra Plata again soon.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the Green Pork Chili! The green chili pork is absolutely unfailingly amazing every time. The manchego biscuits leave a bit to be desired (coming from a huge manchego fan). My table mate claimed the grits were delicious.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTerre Plata has always beenTerre Plata has always been a favorite restaurant of ours and we will continue to return! Fabulous service and delicious food- seasonal cocktails are amazing. This is a great place to have a special dinner. :)3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad brunch there and was astonishedHad brunch there and was astonished at how sophisticated and well-executed the food was. Very above the usual and can't wait to go back for dinner. The kitchen is obviously run by a very talented and inspired chef.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second time eatingThis was my second time eating at Terra Plata and I enjoyed it very much. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and after being seated I notice "Happy Birthday Marian" on each menu. Felt that was such a wonderful touch. We order several small plates and one large. Plenty of food and enjoyed all the different tastes. Everything was excellent. Our server was very attentive. All and all a wonderful evening. I (we) will definately come again.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAs in my past dining tripAs in my past dining trip to Terra Plata the menu did not let us down. the food is an eclectic mixture of foodie items and simple dishes done with a flare (try the scallops or brussel sprouts). Dishes were plated to enhance the experience- good food "eye candy" effect.
If you get a chance to meet Linda, let her chose your wine. Great pairings.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe "shared plate" menu madeThe "shared plate" menu made for a very fun evening of discussion and choices. The variety of dishes gave everyone, adventurous or not, something to enjoy. Five people, five different cocktails, five different desserts, all beautiful and delicious. Service was excellent, with a nice touch - when they called to confirm the reservation I casually mentioned that it was a birthday. They asked for her name and our menus were printed with a "Happy Birthday, Kelly" on them.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMTerra Plata is Smokin HottaThis place rocks. What a great experience in terms of ambiance, service and food. Our waitress was the friendliest. The food was simply fantastic (oh the pork belly)! This place is the whole package! Enjoy!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful, deliciousWhat a wonderful place this is. Really pretty restaurant. Linda Gordon the GM and part owner (I think) chatted up me and my (Bay Area) friend. We asked her to order our dinner for us and she was absolutely delight to do that. So dishes just kept coming to the table and we never knew what we were going to get next. Wonderful experience. It's a real hot spot, so it's busy. And loud. But very much fun.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat birthdayGreat for my birthday. They personalized my menu and were so kind and inviting. Great food.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNot a question of tasteGood food, beautiful dining room and ambiance. Attentive and accomodating hosting staff, although in full swing on a Friday, they could use an extra support staff person as a couple times we were looking for our server. I would not say good value; portions are small and price points are high. I would not say bad value either as execution and quality is quite evident. Corkage fees are $20-per bottle, even with purchase of in-house alcohol. Expect to spend $50/person before tax and tip for a special meal.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like a wide selectionIf you like a wide selection of excellently prepared vegetable side dishes, this place is for you. Limited main courses but who cares. Bartender came over a couple of times to see if custom cocktails were to our liking. Service is casual but attentive. Tamara, the owner, also dropped by the table for a chat..for whatever reason we are always impressed when a chef/owner will drop by the table. Only downside was getting seated. Even though it was 6:00pm and the place was almost empty we were first shown to a table near the front door then one near the kitchen while other tables were available. We needed to insist on another four top. Sometimes I think an "Open Table" prejudice does exist for better tables, but can't figure out why.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTerra Plata was suggestedTerra Plata was suggested by our son who lives in Seattle. We were visiting from LA and meeting friends for an early dinner. The food was beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, creative and just delicious! Service was gracious, efficient and charming. Specialty cocktails very good - and moderately priced wine very good. We'll definitely return on our next visit to Seattle!1/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
