Terra @ Four Seasons Resort Rancho EncantadoFab Food and Sunset View!I can't rave enough about the food. It was totally delicious and the chef made modifications on my salmon entree according due to dietary restrictions. My sister had the duck which she finished the very next day for breakfast, and my husband had the sirloin special, which he says was one of the best steaks he's had. We even had a visit from the chef after dinner. It was wonderful.
The service was great, wine was wonderful and the view of the mountains and sunset was spectacular. One of the best locations in Santa Fe for a quiet, romantic or special occasion dinner.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIt had been quite some timeIt had been quite some time since we were at Terra, mainly because we had previously taken friends there for a special occasion a day or two after ownership changed from Auberge to Four Seasons, and the experience was somewhat unnerving---we had hyped the restaurant so much and then were quite disappointed when the meal was below expectations. However, the current management has redeemed our trust and we will certainly make Terra a regular visit again. Menu was great, presentation was to be expected from a top-notch restaurant, and service very good. Executive chef made an appearance at our table, and we had a chat abut where Terra is going---he has great plans including chef's table dining and some cooking classes which sound interesting.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent experienceCame here to celebrate combined mother's & father's day for lunch. We had the restaurant almost entirely by ourselves since it's in the middle of the week. The service and the food were both excellent. Really enjoyed ourselves.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite food, service and sceneryTerra at Four Seasons Rancho Encantado is set in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains outside of Santa Fe. The outdoor patio offers fabulous views especially at sunset. The food is absolutely delicious. The service couldn't be better. Everyone from the hostess,to the bartender and the waiter made us feel like VIPs.They took care of every request, including printing boarding passes for our flight the next day ... a service not usually expected in a restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return on my next visit to Santa Fe.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the trip out of SantaWorth the trip out of Santa Fe eve if you are not staying at the Four Seasons. the view is the best in town. The food is tremendous. Lots of local favors and herbs.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, View and ServiceTerra has continued to improve over the past few months. The crab cake was flavorful and nicely presented and the tuna was perfectly seared and high quality. We loved the branzino with the vegetable ragout request...much preferred to the potato standard presentation. Service was kind and attentive. The dining room was quiet on a Thursday night. We do wish they would work on their music as it seems the same Adele/Stevie/Kings mix is on every time we are there...a more sophisticated and diverse choice of music is long over due, hearing the same music several nights in a row is annoying. Overall, good job!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful RestaurantDining at Terra begins with the beautiful drive to the hotel, and then continues with an exquisite setting. You can eat inside or out; both are airy and contemporary with stunning views of the sunset. (There are also shades inside and out so you're not blinded by the sun). The service was superb; we even had a visit from the sous chef. They have an extensive wine list and very good food. I loved my braised short ribs over smoked potato puree; my dining partner liked her duck breast, but would probably select something else next time. There will be a next time; the entire experience was relaxing and enjoyable. It seems harder and harder these days to find a restaurant with very good food AND great service. I highly recommend.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGo!!Worth more than one visit !! Beautiful location, scenic drive out from Santa Fe (about 20 mins). Exec Chef Andrew Cooper is a ball of fire with great ideas...5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLuscious lambExcellent lamb shank w/ pea risotto and gemolata...perfectly cooked, nicely balanced flavor and a pleasing presentation make this entree a current favorite of ours!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent friendly service,Excellent friendly service, good fresh lunch ...Worth the drive!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner was wonderful,Our dinner was wonderful, from the delicious food, elegant surroundings and impeccable service.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible!! Do NOT miss! This is not a typical, stuffy, haute cuisine restaurant. From the moment we entered the dining room, we were overcome with a feeling of relaxation. The hostess, wait staff, and Chef Cooper, made our dining experience so comfortable, and memorable. Unpretentious cooking, using fresh, local, ingredients make Terra unique, and incredible. We left our menus, and let the chef create our meal.. Most memorable was the "potato course" of our tasting menu; lightly browned potato chips, rolled into a canoli shape, and filled with potato ice cream. Chef Cooper is a creative genius! Not to be missed if you visit Santa Fe, or even if you are remotely nearby.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe new cook is not as goodThe new cook is not as good as the last one. The service and the ambiance were still outstanding. The music was very bad. We had not only bad music but loud enough to make the conversation difficult.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFANTASTIC. It is one of ourFANTASTIC. It is one of our favorite places....great food, service, and ambiance3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMScenic and TastyThe food was excellent. The service was very attentive. The setting is lovely with a nice sunset view through the large windows. Dining room is very open an airy. With very little sound-absorbing surface, the dining room was quite noisy even though it was only half full. The background music was not to our taste, but it wasn' terribly loud.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent overall,Service was excellent overall, but slow due to the fact that a 'private party' was being held in the kitchen - ? Decor a bit tacky since the switch to Four Seasons. Food not as good as before the change. No longer an exclusive-type crowd, if that matters to you.
Would I recommend? A strong 'maybe'.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWent during Restaurant WeekWent during Restaurant Week and ordered from pre fixe menu. Started with drinks in their bar watching the sun set over the Jemez (amazing views). Dinner was perfection from the appetizers through to dessert. Our waiter, Adam, was exceptional. The restaurant manager, Katherine, was visible and interacting as well. As you would expect from a Four Seasons establishment, the attention to detail was exceptional (as it should be for the price -- but you get your money's worth). Even if we had not done the pre frix (three courses for $40/pp), it still would have been worth the money. Can't wait to go back. (NOTE: The bar has a wonderful bar menu should you want to experience the resort for less $$$.)2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new special occassion go-to!My 2013 Restaurant Week Winner!!! Hands-down, no competition came close - not Geronimo, Coyote Cafe, or any of those former old standbys. Terra was a perfect experience. I don't know what else to say but my 2/26 meal was the very best I've ever had outside of NYC or the Napa Valley area. From the warm, personal greeting, to the smooth waitstaff, and throughout this gorgeous space with a breathtaking view comes a true chef. Panzanella salad w/a perfectly cooked egg, most divine scallops (which have me now believing I should have been eating more scallops in the right place all along), to an Arctic char with a PERFECTLY cooked skin, etc etc. Perfection from the minute I set my foot in the double doors. Locals, make THIS your new special go to2/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis newer Four Seasons EncantadoThis newer Four Seasons Encantado establishment will not dissapoint you. The service is crisp and clean. Chef Andrew is excited about the food he serves up and the farm to table approach he brings to Terra. Very excited to try the crab enchciladas which were wonderful!2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTerra lives up to its AAA ratingTerra, before becoming a Four Seasons property, had a menu that seemed a little bit "corporate." Not so now, it's one of three AAA 4-diamond restaurants in Santa Fe. We had our Valentine's Day dinner there (we never do that on 2/14) and everything was top-notch. Very few customers since it was 2/13, and hence very quiet. I've been there with a moderately filled room and the noise still allowed for quiet conversation.
In warmer weather an outdoor patio off the bar offers great sunset views.
On this visit I confirmed personally that the wine bottles stored around the fireplace are all empties, for show and to insulate the filled bottles from the heat.2/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of the best restaurantsThis is one of the best restaurants in the Santa Fe area, but due to it being outside of the city it tends to be very quiet. The food is excellent as are the drinks.1/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the TripAfter discussing starters and entre's with my captain I told him I would eat whatever he brought. My stater was a medley of three of the starters with a samll amount of each. It was excellent! The bread basket is always excellent! The crab stuffed relleno was very good! The is restaurant is worth the relaxing drive north from the Plaza up Bishop's Lodge Road.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
