A word from Ten Tables Jamaica Plain
At Ten Tables JP, our modest size and open kitchen create an opportunity for you to enjoyably be part of the experience. Our newly expanded space, which created a stylish but laid-back bar, is warmly appointed with reclaimed wood and exposed brick, giving us a decidedly European feel. Whether you just stop in for a drink and light bite at a high-top in the bar, or stay for a full meal at one of our linen-draped dining room tables, you will come to enjoy a sophisticated and stylish space that all at once feels as familiar and comfortable as home.
Every Tuesday our Wine Director, Stan Hilbert & Chef Eric Cooper pair four courses of food with four wines for $45/person. Each week we feature a different region. We can accommodate any dietary or allergy needs. We do not offer our regular menu on Tuesdays.

Every Wednesday we feature our "3 for $38" menu. Pick an appetizer, entree and a dessert for $38/person. We don't offer tasting menus on Wednesdays.

Diner Reviews
  • "Another great wine dinner at Ten Tables. I was not familiar with these wines but knew a little about the geography of the area. We were really impressed by both the food and the new wines we tasted. Cabbage stuffed with potato paired with Jongieux Savoie. Wild boar terrine with an incredible sour cherry mustard paired with Mondeuse Savoie. Trout stuffed with house made sausage paired with Poulsard, Jura. Cheese fondue with breads and blueberries paired with Cremant du Jura. We always enjoy how the wine changes character before and after a taste of the food. A great dinning and learning experience."

  • "We had an early dinner around 6 pm or so. The cocktails were very good. The charcuterie was excellent. I enjoyed the pollock and my fiancée's bluefish was great. The fig tart dessert was the only item that was just ok."

  • "Maybe we hit it on an off night, but the menu was blah. Pickled squash was awful. Steamed clams were so so. Entrees ok. Waited 20 min to give our drink order."

  • "The restaurant was small, cozy, warm atmosphere, food was amazing, worth every dollars we paid. Easy parking across the street. Will go there again definitely."

  • "My husband and I were looking forward to a fantastic dining experience, based on the fact that we love the Cambridge location and have been there several times. Unfortunately we were seated at 8:40 for our 8:15 reservation and then waited another twenty minutes after we ordered our first course for it to arrive. This set the mood for the rest of the meal. Though the ingredients were fresh and local, which we appreciate, none of the courses were prepared in such a way to wow us. The food was oooookay, but it was nothing spectacular, which was a surprise given our experience at the Cambridge location, as those are some of the best meals we've had in the city. We will not be returning to the JP location."

  • "Worst dining experience I've had in a long time. It took 2 hours from the time of our reservation to be served our food."

  • "The wait staff was splendid and had an intuitive sense of what I needed before even I did. The food was lovely, perfectly sized portions. Wine list was fantastic! Would recommend to small groups looking for an intimate setting."

  • "The good is exceptional - fresh, creative but not ever just to impress. And the staff is great - explaining the menu, loving their role as the diners' guide to a great meal. We will go there again and again."

  • "Phenomenal experience! The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The kitchen was careful and accommodating to severe food allergies. The food was inventive and delicious! Dessert offerings seemed a bit funky, however we found thr fig tart to be excellent! We will definitely return!"

  • "We sat at the bar for dinner. Service was poor, we spent a long time waiting for the bartender's attention anytime we needed something. The bar only has about 10 seats... Beer taps were messed up and the draft beer was bit warm. While the food was very good, we left feeling that $180 (with tip,for two) was not worth the experience."

  • "French portions. Excellent cocktails, especially wishkey based and Nastirum. Local carrots and broccoli are cooked to bring out flavors in steak, and fish entree."

  • "I took a friend here to celebrate a special occasion, and the meal was wonderful! The servers were helpful and friendly, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were fabulous. Expensive, as expected, but worth it."

  • "The tasting menu is always the way to go, esp with wine pairings. Even the items that would not be my first choice are a delicious surprise. Service is genuine and very knowledgeable. Never had a bad meal, always a lovely experience all around."

  • "We have visited Ten Tables many times over our 4 years living in JP. We have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, and the service is tremendous. It's worth mentioning that much of the staff has remained the same since we first visited the restaurant; staff live nearby and continue to enjoy Ten Tables as much as those dining there. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. However, it is not a great place to bring large groups or small children."

  • "Food was uninspired. The appetizer was odd and a weird texture. One entree was oily and bland the other overly seasoned and a poor cut of meat. The staff did not seem to know much about the dishes. Overall I would not care to go there again."

  • "We are big fans of this special place but recently had a less than stellar experience. We dined on Father's Day and opted for the tasting menus, one veggie, one regular. The standard menu was fine, tasty morsels and pretty plates but the vegetarian option was something resembling a bad restaurant week offering. The starter of asparagus was ok, though not exciting. The next two courses seemed to be offering quantity rather than quality. Two black casseroles one of sun chokes with cheese followed by a second of "paella" with tips of asparagus (again?) and a side plate of beans. Not bad, just dull. The kitchen attempted to address our concern by adding a tasty cheese offering, which was appreciated. We just expected more...."

  • "Have wanted to try Ten Tables for three years, and I was glad I made it there! What a lovely little restaurant in Jamaica Plain! It's small and cozy. Everyone who we interacted with was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food?....Oh the food! :) So good. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings. Outstanding...and that even takes into account I am not a fish eater...however, I loved the fish course. The wine choices were well chosen and wonderful, too. Delicious, inventive food. Great wine. A relaxing, cheerful, pretty spot with attentive, informative, pleasant staff. The only thing that is not perfect about Ten Tables is that it is 900 miles from my home!"

  • "Food was good, not memorable. Portions tiny. Overpriced."

  • "The ambiance was pleasant and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. The noise level on a Friday evening was unfortunately quite high and we had trouble hearing each other across the tiny table. We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu. It was good but not very creative. Two out of the three dishes were asparagus. I like asparagus and I know it is seasonal in late spring but twice in a tasting menu just seems lazy. After hearing really great things about the restaurant we expected a little more. We live in the neighborhood and may return but not for a tasting menu."

  • "We went for a girls night out at Ten Tables - we ordered 2 of the vegetarian tasting menus and a couple of other things from the menu. The veggie tasting menu was great - they made sure they gave us different things to try from the menu so that we had no repeats, and we could all share. My friend has the foie gras dish - she said it was superb. The desserts were excellent too. Overall, we had a great time, with good food, attentive wait staff, and very generous portion sizes. "

  • "We had the Chef's Table and enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was very good, especially the bluefish and the desert. There was a lot of attentive staff. The tempo was a bit quick, more American than European. Some of the tables on the left side of the restaurant seemed quite tiny. We will definitely go there again."

  • "Absolutely wonderfull dinner paired with great wines. The food is always so tasty, fresh, and original. Although it was a set menu, the chef was able to accomodate our dietary restrictions without any hustle. My husband does not like wine, so they paired his food with great beers."

  • "I really like this place. Ten tables is as small as the name suggests, reservations are a must, price is on the higher side and the kitchen is in the room. The food is a little experimental, expect fiddleheads, spring onions and alike. It is also well prepared, tasty and frequently new and unexpected. Wine list is not extensive but adequate in size. Mostly european wine with prices starting close to US$50. Highly recommended."

  • "Went for a Tuesday night wine night and was excited to see the menu and pairings. We both cleared all our plates and would go back for more in a heartbeat. The service was also great on all ends. Waitstaff was very helpful and always checking in."

  • "Tuesday $45 themed wine pairings never disappoint."

  • "Our dinner was wonderful, varied, unexpected, delicious. We had heard that the restaurant was a very special place and we were not disappointed. I am intolerant to gluten and dairy. The staff to special care with my meal and I was treated to an assortment of olives in place of the crusty bread and dipping oil. The kitchen sent out a special appetizer of Schattner Farms carrots which we especially enjoyed because we are Rhode Islanders. Unusual soup, shellfish, steak, chocolate torte, flight of dessert wines... from appetizers to dessert, everything was outstanding! Enjoyed every bite!"

  • "We all (five of us) found the menu very limited. The choices were not varied enough and the prices seem to have risen considerably. Two of us had the steak which was good but not memorable. The Dandelion soup was very bitter - also not great. Wine list was very expensive. Nothing below $40 a bottle and the wine we had at $41 dollars was not very good. We always found the restaurant a special place so this is a private note to the owners. "

  • "On Tuesday nights they have fix menu and they dont state it anywhere. And not everyone likes Indian food. When we asked to see the bar menu they wanted to change our table and move us to the barside. Finally we didn't change our table, we ordered the burger -which was ok (a bit dry) and spaghetti with garlic sauce which I could still feel the next morning. I dont think I would go there again because the attitude wasn't so nice and I dont like restaurants where you don't have option to choose. I could have walked next door and had a great burger instead. "

  • "I have been here a couple of times for the Tuesday night wine dinners. It is amazing! The food is so fresh and cooked just right. The wines are paired perfectly and the staff is so knowledgeable. I went on Tuesday this week and the meals were Indian themed and vegetarian. I'm a big meat eater, so I wasn't sure how I would feel. I was completely satisfied and the flavors were great! I highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "Our favorite places to dine are all based on our first great food experience as a couple: that Montreal restaurant was small, had amazing flavor combinations even with the simplest of dishes, and cared more about guests enjoying the tastes than they did about upscale atmosphere. We're always looking to reproduce that experience. Ten Tables has all those qualities: when we eat there it makes us feel like we're exploring fancy dining again for the first time. Being able to observe the kitchen prep work makes us feel like we 're part of the process, but somehow the noise level stays low. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and had no problem splitting a wine pairing to help us avoid getting too overfilled to enjoy the meal. We can't wait to go again!"

  • "This was our second time at Ten Tables for one of their wine pairing nights. The first time was fine, but this time was really noteworthy. The Burgundy wines they selected were completely new to us, and far from the usual rockem-sockem reds we associate with that region. The pairings were really interesting, especially a warm radish salad with Brillat Savarin butter paired with a Cremant de Bourgogne. I don't go to restaurants expecting to learn a lot, but I did this time and got a delicious meal as well. "

  • "I've been to TT (JP location) multiple times and have never been disappointed. Really cozy atmosphere and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They made sure my wife and I had a perfect table for a birthday dinner (I really appreciate that!). The menu (always changing) offers a broad panel of palatable dishes which cover pretty much any expectations from meat lovers, fish fanatics and vegetarian aficionados. It's a bit on the pricey range, but the quality is definitely there, which makes the check easy to digest. I would have rated 5 stars for food if only the clam appetizer wasn't too salty and a bit sandy. The rest of the meal was awesome and prepared to perfection. Overall, TT in JP is the place to go, without a doubt."

  • "Much more inventive than Cambridge's more comforting fare, which sometimes works and also reaches into too much cleverness. The squid ink pasta with fried perch on top was very tasty but the charcuterie was just weird with too much contrast in sides--you really shouldn't mess that much with pates. Has a great vibe and bar scene looks fun and popular, but food needs a little more comfort too. "

  • "We were there for a wine dinner - four courses, with four wine pairings for $45. We are both vegetarians but it wasn't a problem at all, and we had amazing food with generous wine pours. We often eat on the bar side of Ten Tables but it was a lovely treat to come to the restaurant side. This is like a cross between a fantastic neighborhood spot and a destination restaurant. Delicious food with fabulous service, but it's not pretentious or ostentatious. Looking forward to returning again soon. "

  • "We don't usually go for dinners where both the food and wine are not our choices, but we took a leap of faith and were richly rewarded by Ten Tables. Every one of the four courses was creative and delicious, every accompanying wine superb. Service tops as well - lots of helpful descriptions and explanations. "

  • "We have been eating here for years, mostly on special or family occasions. this particular wine dinner was PORTUGAL and each course was unusual, creative, and simply delicious.....they told us they were very excited about this menu and they had a right to be. It was terrific. I want to mention that the wines were paired to perfection and were probably the best wines we have yet had at 10 Tables. Each was so good in its own right, and added a lot to the course it went with. someone spent time and thought preparing this menu and deserves a lot of credit for it! "

  • "Great food. Fantastic and unique tastes all around. The chefs proved to be both creative and traditional enough to provide familiar tastes while never failing to surprise with an unexpected complimentary flavor. The meals we enjoyed were on par with far more expensive places and our servers behaved as though we were dropping $80 a plate. The only flaw was the cramped space. Our table was so small I had difficulty wielding the cutlery. Also, I'm not partial to the open kitchen; but in this case the chefs (who were less than five yards from us) made it look easy and were never stressed. Great place. Well worth it, unless you are seven feet tall. "
