A word from Ten Tables Jamaica Plain
At Ten Tables JP, our modest size and open kitchen create an opportunity for you to enjoyably be part of the experience. Our newly expanded space, which created a stylish but laid-back bar, is warmly appointed with reclaimed wood and exposed brick, giving us a decidedly European feel. Whether you just stop in for a drink and light bite at a high-top in the bar, or stay for a full meal at one of our linen-draped dining room tables, you will come to enjoy a sophisticated and stylish space that all at once feels as familiar and comfortable as home.
**
Every Tuesday our Wine Director, Stan Hilbert & Chef Eric Cooper pair four courses of food with four wines for $45/person. Each week we feature a different region. We can accommodate any dietary or allergy needs. We do not offer our regular menu on Tuesdays.

Every Wednesday we feature our "3 for $38" menu. Pick an appetizer, entree and a dessert for $38/person. We don't offer tasting menus on Wednesdays.

Went with two friends to tasting menu on Wednesday. Delicious cocktail then scrumptious meal. Salads were very nice, soup with squash was delicate and flavorful. Blue fish crisp and extremely tasty. Fish with mussels milder but still ok. Mushroom something or other also extremely good. Chocolate cake with burnt caramel ice cream was exquisite p! Great service, friendly staff and funky atmosphere completed a lovely meal. About $165.00 for three.

We've been going to Ten Tables for years and it never disappoints. In fact, it consistently leaves us quite happy. Last night's Spanish influence experience was so wonderful on so many levels that we've decided to go once a month on our anniversary day.

The first place I think of for a special occasion. The food is always excellent and over the top without being pretentious. The staff is always attentive and courteous - they make you feel like you are the only one dining. It's no secret that they do amazing wine tasting dinners also. Keep up the great work - Eric, Stanislas, Ashley, Marlon and waitstaff.

This review is for the August 12 wine dinner featuring Spanish wines. Three of the four courses were excellent, as were three of the four wines. As always, the wine pairings were inspired and the descriptions were jargon-free and very accurate. The service was attentive and friendly, as ever. We'll be back to TT again and again. The quality is fairly consistent, and it is always an enjoyable experience at a reasonable price.

I've eaten at ten tables for several years and have always had a great meal. From casual burgers at the bar to their weekly wine dinners to New Years Eve - ten tables always gets it right. Great wines and interesting cocktails add to the experience. On the August menu try the Pollock with fennel and mussels. Staff is great too.

Such interesting food, and so delicious! I didn't mind that everything was the chef's choice until dessert. Don't care to spend my calories on tapioca pudding or, apparently, caramelized cornbread, which has the consistency of stale croutons. But the blueberries were divine, and the walnuts roasted to perfection. Everything else about the meal was full of creative, scrumptious flavor!

Another great wine dinner at Ten Tables. I was not familiar with these wines but knew a little about the geography of the area. We were really impressed by both the food and the new wines we tasted. Cabbage stuffed with potato paired with Jongieux Savoie. Wild boar terrine with an incredible sour cherry mustard paired with Mondeuse Savoie. Trout stuffed with house made sausage paired with Poulsard, Jura. Cheese fondue with breads and blueberries paired with Cremant du Jura. We always enjoy how the wine changes character before and after a taste of the food. A great dinning and learning experience.

My husband and I were looking forward to a fantastic dining experience, based on the fact that we love the Cambridge location and have been there several times. Unfortunately we were seated at 8:40 for our 8:15 reservation and then waited another twenty minutes after we ordered our first course for it to arrive. This set the mood for the rest of the meal. Though the ingredients were fresh and local, which we appreciate, none of the courses were prepared in such a way to wow us. The food was oooookay, but it was nothing spectacular, which was a surprise given our experience at the Cambridge location, as those are some of the best meals we've had in the city. We will not be returning to the JP location.

We sat at the bar for dinner. Service was poor, we spent a long time waiting for the bartender's attention anytime we needed something. The bar only has about 10 seats... Beer taps were messed up and the draft beer was bit warm. While the food was very good, we left feeling that $180 (with tip,for two) was not worth the experience.

We have visited Ten Tables many times over our 4 years living in JP. We have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, and the service is tremendous. It's worth mentioning that much of the staff has remained the same since we first visited the restaurant; staff live nearby and continue to enjoy Ten Tables as much as those dining there. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. However, it is not a great place to bring large groups or small children.

We are big fans of this special place but recently had a less than stellar experience. We dined on Father's Day and opted for the tasting menus, one veggie, one regular. The standard menu was fine, tasty morsels and pretty plates but the vegetarian option was something resembling a bad restaurant week offering. The starter of asparagus was ok, though not exciting. The next two courses seemed to be offering quantity rather than quality. Two black casseroles one of sun chokes with cheese followed by a second of "paella" with tips of asparagus (again?) and a side plate of beans. Not bad, just dull. The kitchen attempted to address our concern by adding a tasty cheese offering, which was appreciated. We just expected more....

Have wanted to try Ten Tables for three years, and I was glad I made it there! What a lovely little restaurant in Jamaica Plain! It's small and cozy. Everyone who we interacted with was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food?....Oh the food! :) So good. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings. Outstanding...and that even takes into account I am not a fish eater...however, I loved the fish course. The wine choices were well chosen and wonderful, too. Delicious, inventive food. Great wine. A relaxing, cheerful, pretty spot with attentive, informative, pleasant staff. The only thing that is not perfect about Ten Tables is that it is 900 miles from my home!

The ambiance was pleasant and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. The noise level on a Friday evening was unfortunately quite high and we had trouble hearing each other across the tiny table. We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu. It was good but not very creative. Two out of the three dishes were asparagus. I like asparagus and I know it is seasonal in late spring but twice in a tasting menu just seems lazy. After hearing really great things about the restaurant we expected a little more. We live in the neighborhood and may return but not for a tasting menu.

We went for a girls night out at Ten Tables - we ordered 2 of the vegetarian tasting menus and a couple of other things from the menu. The veggie tasting menu was great - they made sure they gave us different things to try from the menu so that we had no repeats, and we could all share. My friend has the foie gras dish - she said it was superb. The desserts were excellent too. Overall, we had a great time, with good food, attentive wait staff, and very generous portion sizes.

I really like this place. Ten tables is as small as the name suggests, reservations are a must, price is on the higher side and the kitchen is in the room. The food is a little experimental, expect fiddleheads, spring onions and alike. It is also well prepared, tasty and frequently new and unexpected. Wine list is not extensive but adequate in size. Mostly european wine with prices starting close to US$50. Highly recommended.
