Ten Tables Jamaica PlainTT in JPgreat food--seemed somewhat crowded/loud crowded when all tables filled--service a little slow at times--my meal was great/but the menu could be a little more varied6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to its reputationEverything the group had was flavorful. It gets its name for how small it is, and be ready for a small menu and cramped quarters. Having said that, nothing disappointed including the service.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMtadaTen Tables - always fantastic. Never disappointing. Chef's tasting menu was brilliant.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMREALLY delicious meal!Special occasion dinner for my husband. We both got the steak and it was cooked perfectly! Appetizer and drink was also a pleasant surprise.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMTen for TenOften successful restaurants slip into a routine and rest on their laurels. No so, Ten Tables. With each visit, the menu items present fresh temptations. The small size of the space contributes to an intimate feel without claustrophobia. Service is professional and informative. The kitchen does not disappoint. The octopus starter was a revelation and the goat pasta sublime. followed by assorted cookies. The wine selections are unusual and, when guided by the staff, you'll find something new and perfect.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place, nice techniqueThe location is great, nice and clean, intimate...would love to have seen the place without all the paint, though, (which made it look "too clean" and not as rustic as I had envisioned) having the exposed brick natural with "real" wear and tear. But that's just cosmetic, still very cozy and enjoyable environment.
The food is very nice. The fusion technique used with the goat was brilliant. The hanger steak was done nicely and the octopus was very well executed.
All in all nice dinner.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMust eat! This restaurant is a true JP gem. The food was delicious, I'm still dreaming about the hangar steak and the asparagus soup! The service was stellar - Alyssa was our server and she was the perfect amount of attentiveness, but also was polite, welcoming, and gave great recommendations. The wine list was also great, and the bar menu looked delish. I can't wait to go back and try one of their infamous burgers! Yum.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMunknown special event...There was a wine dinner and we didn't know abot it.
The reservation got confirmed four hour prior our time.
I don't drink wine, my wife's vegetarian and we
had our three year old.
First we were told that the regular menu isn't available, but after we decided to leave,
we were giving most of the options.
Small portions and overpiced for what it is...5/14/2013 12:00:00 AM1st try at 10 tablesThis is a small, unpretentious place that utilizes space quite well. Even at full occupancy, the noise level was not obtrusive. The charcuterie appetizer had several items on the plate heavily weighted to a pork pâté and slight on the others (tasty as they were).
Main courses were very good. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Nice experience.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDerpThe food was delicious, but service was a little lacking. We waited nearly half an hour just for our drink orders to be taken and to get bread. I appreciate that the dishes are complex and it's not meant to be a quick in-and-out dining experience, but we were there for nearly three hours. Don't get me wrong, it was still an unpleasant experience.
The seafood stew was wonderful. I also got the charcuterie, which had the first pate I've ever enjoyed, and the pickled fiddlehead ferns were surprisingly good. Their ricotta cake was very good on its own, but its glaze was sublime; it was so perfectly lemony. The pana cotta was my favorite of the desserts I tried, though I found the rhubarb compote a little overwhelming.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMJP Mothers' DaySo happy to be able to take my favorite wife/mother to a great restaurant for Mothers' Day. As always we had a great meal. Incredible seafood stew plus hangar steak and watch out for the Thai Basil ice cream.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgoodThe only complaint that we had was that the menu was a set menu even though it wasn't a wine dinner night or anything like that. Perhaps they open the menu up on the weekends. I would check in advance next time.
The food was good though.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved TenTables JPAll of the food we tried at TenTables was delicious, not one bad bite. The menu is small but each item had so much flavour that it was worth it. Wine list is extensive for such a small place and we tried a few different glasses which were all delicious and perfectly presented and poured. We had a child with us and the menu was a little limited for him but they did their best to accommodate him and he loved his steak. I would recommend this restaurant to adult parties and intend to return as soon as possible!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA New Favorite in JPAbsolutely a MUST to try if you live in JP (not sure why it took us so long to check out)! Staff was personable and made fantastic recommendations. I (personally) believe we also had the best seat in the house at the "Chef's Table"; with our backs to,the other diners perched at a high top counter we were mesmerized not only by the food brought to us but also by the skill and magic that happened right in front of us in the tiny kitchen!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe JP Ten tables is a wonderfulThe JP Ten tables is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The food is creative and well constructed. This is a very small place with brick walls and, thus, very noisy. The entree menu is limited but all selections were great. The waitstaff is very attentive without being overbearing. If you enjoy innovative food Ten Tables is worth a visit.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to one of their TuesdayWent to one of their Tuesday Wine Dinners and the food and wine pairings were absolutely fantastic. The food on it's own was excellent but adding the wine really made it a remarkable meal. Strongly recommend them.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceVery attentive staff. Timing of the courses was excellent.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good, but notThe food was good, but not over-the-top amazing as the critical hype about Ten Tables proclaims. The charcuterie was fun(but my pate is as good), and although the lesser known offerings were great (chourice, a very tasty, thin-sliced ham, pickled vegetables) – it would have been nice to have more of them, and a little less pate. The bourride of hake, clams, and swiss chard was good if predictable, with two few clams. The steak was flavorful but a bit tough. The best treat was the complimentary shooter of parsnip soup that began the meal. Wine specials were delightful. Service was careful but not cloying. The space was busy and convivial, with the noise level just short of making conversation difficult.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the perfect spotThis was the perfect spot for an intimate and special dinner with close friends. The place was full but we were able to talk. The food was very good and we felt welcome with a small glass of a delicious soup handed us on arrival.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AM10 out of 10 for 10 TablesExcellent food, tasty drink selection, extremely friendly staff, great lighting and very cool modern music playing in the background.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice quiet place,I wouldVery nice quiet place,I would recommend this place to my friend. Friendly stuff.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTen Tables - 10 stars! We were greeted warmly and seated immediately with impeccable service, our water carafe filled regularly, our server(s) checking in, but never overly attentive or involved. The 4 of us, all carnivores, ordered the vegetarian chef's menu and each of the 4 courses was unique and deeply flavorful: an asparagus soup with porcini panna cotta to begin with, followed by a superbly fresh salad of greens, with sliced apples and just the right amount of cheddar cheese, velvety and lightly dressed , a farro risotto that was richly flavored, but not heavy at all, and then they brought, 2 servings each of a dark choco terrine w/sea salt and beautifully contrasted basil ice cream and a creamy rice pudding w/blood orange. We'll be back!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery thing you heard about and moreTen tables is very thing we have heard about and more. My husband and I were able to enjoyed each others company in a room full others and the meal was out standing. We can't wait to go back again.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst but not last visit.First but not last visit. Really enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent without being intrusive.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMInventive and delicious combinationInventive and delicious combinations....a bit too loud, but the food and service made that a minor point3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThere was one dish that wasThere was one dish that was amazing: the fluke main dish. The rest were just above average. The way this place was hyped up we were expecting all great dishes. We've been to Cambridge location 2 times before and we like the food there better.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe hanger steak was deliciousThe hanger steak was delicious and the service warm and friendly. We loved the basil ice cream. This is our go-to restaurant for anniversaries.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen waiting to goWe've been wanting to go to TT for a long time, but it does not lend itself to last-minute dining-out decisions, since it is always booked up in advance. We got lucky this time - on a Saturday of all days.
Wow! Great food, great service - just a really comfortable place to eat. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves here - the diners (obviously), but also the servers, the cooks - just a great vibe.
Pickled octopus app was a little funky - I'm not sure garbanzo beans was the best choice in this, but it was still interesting and well-prepared. Wild-boar pasta and the hangar steak were both amazing. Banana pudding desert was equally great. They also have a really nice wine and beer list.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMromanticMy experience at Ten Tables was nice but a little to tight but other then that it was nice and romantic atmosphere.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWine dinners are great. FoodWine dinners are great. Food is excellent (I had a little trouble with Tuesday March 19th's pasta course)and the service is friendly and knowledgeable.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome place for a romanticAwesome place for a romantic dinner. I went with my wife and it had a friendly, quiet, romantic atmosphere.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there for the wineWe were there for the wine tasting prix fix on a Tuesday night. Very reasonably priced for how good it was, and the wine pairings were perfect. We were very happy. I have nothing to really complain about, but only gave 4 stars because there are other restaurants in Boston that I like just a little bit more. But still, it was a great night out. I would recommend it/go again.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTen tables and much more!house cured fish was excellent.Pickled mussels with carrots & onions very creative. Fettuccine with Duck Ragu was terrfic. The combinations without dairy light and flaavorful. The peppercorn rubed hanger steak med/rare, best ever! you will be coming back.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the friendly welcomeFrom the friendly welcome to the delectable desert, you'll be we'll cared for and very happy with food and service.
