Ten Tables CambridgeNoisy, delicious, & welcomingWe made reservations for 7:30pm & were seated immediately. The service was prompt, attentive without being smothering, and pleasant. The food? Terrific all around. We each got the 3-course prix fixe (alternating the choices so as to allow maximum tasting potential). Salads were perfectly dressed, food cooked to perfection and dessert wonderful. We'll be back. It *was* a bit noisy (it's a small space with a lot of people packed in, though physically we had plenty of room), but everything else was great.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOME. Great service andAWESOME. Great service and food, plus very affordable wine.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, just okay serviceWe went for our second visit to Ten Tables in Cambridge last Sunday evening. I guess it was unusually busy for a Sunday night and it showed as a number of diners came and went while we were dining.
Aside from the slow service, the food was fresh, delicious and inventive. On Sunday's they serve a fixed supper menu which some folks may not like, but we didn't mind a bit, everything was really good.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for a special occasionTen tables has consistently good food but be prepared to spend a lot of money.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat Took Us So Long?We drive by here all the time and every time, say, "we need to eat here." So we did and we are glad we did. We went during the week and had the Chefs tasting menu. It was 4 courses of creative, balanced and finely prepared dinner, each course accompanied by a nice glass of wine. The server was knowledgable about each dish and each wine and their service very correct. If you want a delicious meal in a comfortable setting with very good service and you don't want to pay an arm and a leg then this is the place for you.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWallensteinWe found the food to be superb! Desserts to die for. The noise level was sometimes unbearable which it made it difficult to talk to each other. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. A nice find.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIntimate and goodDespite the basement location, the space has a lovely intimate appeal and a nice vibe. Food is good without being pretentious. Lovely and attentive service. Bargain options during certain weekdays make the experience more affordable. A really nice and easy night out.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience. We enjoyed the relaxed casual atmosphere and the delicious food. We each had a different appetizer, octopus and garlic custard with beets, different main, blue fish and chicken with risotto, and shared an amazing chocolate and ice cream dessert.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTables were a little crowdedTables were a little crowded and dark restaurant wasn't particularly cozy. Waitress was a bit loud and because the tables were cheek by jowl, she had to stand with her backside uncomfortably close to our neighbors. Food was very good, but not great or memorable.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dinnerTen Tables Cambridge is in a lovely historic neighborhood outside of Harvard Square. Easy nearby parking and a nice place to walk around after eating. The meal was exquisite- perfectly prepared.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat special occasion spotMy husband and I chose ten tables to celebrate our first night out after having our first baby. Service was excellent. My husband tried both of the featured wines and enjoyed them. We started with the soft shell crab and mesclun salad. The crab and remoulade sauce were delicious. Perfectly cooked. For entrees We shared the cannelloni and pork special. The pork was moist and paired with a beautiful mix of spring veggies and a beet purée. We both preferred the cannelloni though. It was crisp on top and smothered in one of the best ragus I've had at a restaurant. For dessert we had the walnut and plum crostata and panna cotta. The crostata was our favorite though both desserts were delicious. We can't wait to come back, hopefully soon!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMy New FavoriteTen Tables in Cambridge was AWESOME. From the moment we walked in, it was great. Every server smiled and was extremely polite, as well as knowledgeable about food and drink. We did not love the first wine we tried, so the server immediately sent over the sommelier, who graciously recommended a new bottle, a fabulous wine. We did the vegetarian tasting menu. Every course was a treat. I'm a foodie, and I would gladly assert that this was one of my favorite meals in Boston.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely dinner forWe had a lovely dinner for two, delicious food and wine, friendly visit from the restaurant owner, great service. We will go again for our next special occasion!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely eveningGreat ambience for conversation, delightful server, delicious veggie tasting menu, companion loved fish menu; perfectly-sized portions.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMphenomenal and fantasitc food, phenomenal and fantasitc food, great service...so accommodating for vegetarians and those with other allergies...truly one for my favorite restaurants!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food but lackluster serviceThe food was delicious, creative, and very memorable. Unfortunately the service was poor. The people who greeted us at the door, took our orders, brought us our food, and cleared our table didn't make any effort to convey the impression that they were happy we were in their restaurant. We generally felt ignored, which was unfortunate given how much we enjoyed our food.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNever failsFor sure one of the finest food experiences in Cambridge. Especially like Monday steak specials. I still consider JP spot as the jewel but Cambridge is the best in my neighborhood.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat graduation dinnerwe went here for my daughter's college graduation dinner. We had notified the restaurant before that some in our party were vegans and they prepared wonderful vegan dishes for us for three courses. My daughter was very impressed with the beer list and I had a wonderful cocktail--herb infused lillet w/cucumber that was refreshing and delicious. all in all a great meal with wonderful service.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Had the vegetarian chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings. Food was extremely good. There were four courses consisting of salad, soup, main course and desert. The highlight was the parsnip cake at the end which came with a dollop of cream cheese ice cream and rhubarb sauce.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious birthday celebration.Delicious birthday celebration. Everything was perfect from the opening glasses of cava with appetizers of asparagus soup (bright and full of spring flavors) to the main dishes and dessert. We waddled home full and content.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous, as always. ServiceFabulous, as always. Service was amazing, I'm pregnant and the waiter went through the menu to tell me all the foods that are safe for pregnant women to eat (i.e. pasteurized cheeses, etc).5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, but it has been betterOverall, it was a lovely Mother's Day dinner. Having said that, however, we've dined there before and I will say the food may have slipped a notch. My steak was tough, and the bread that came with dinner was so-so. But DO go...it may have just been an off night in terms of the outstanding quality experience we've had in the past.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, not outstanding.Good food, not outstanding. Very casual space that is somewhat cramped.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful Chef's Tasting MenuTen Tables is a tiny gem in Cambridge. The service was excellent--the staff is attentive, warm and welcoming. The food was truly delightful--we did the four course tasting menu. The dishes were petite and flavorful--and varied (we had a delicious scallop, tender beef, and two desserts that we shared) . The tasting menu was a surprise so as each dish came out, it was explained. The surprise factor actually added to the experience. And the price was really delightul---$48 for the tasting menu (which can be made vegetarian for $36). I didn't have wine but my dining partner did and she enjoyed it. I appreciate that the restaurant has several parking spots -- helpful in Cambridge. Overall, a really lovely experience--I look forward to returning.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe octopus and pate appetizersThe octopus and pate appetizers were fabulous, especially the octopus. And the bluefish was also wonderful. My husband's steak frites seemed a little off. The smell should be just as good as the flavor, and it just wasn't. The service was perfect, with care being taken to get us out to our concert on time and to make sure that substitutions to the meal were made to make it just right for my particular palate, rather than almost right. I'd go back.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressive-Highlights included:wondImpressive-Highlights included:wonderful variety, great Trappist Ale, prompt and friendly service sans attitude. Looking forward to the next time.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the 4 course chef's tastingHad the 4 course chef's tasting menu and everyone loved it. Never felt rushed but beautifully taken care of.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMaybe it was the post-lockdownMaybe it was the post-lockdown euphoria, but the food and service on Saturday was the best I've experienced in my many visits to Ten Tables. A wonderful evening!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the tasting menu. WhatTry the tasting menu. Both the food and accompanying wines were excellent!
Will be back! Have already recommended to friends, especially my foodie friends!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious....but a bit noisy!Delicious, well-prepared food, service was superb! We were the first to arrive, and loved having the dining room to ourselves! By the time we finished, the room was full, and we felt that everyone could hear what we saying because we could hear everything everyone else was saying! The tables are very close together and the ceiling is quite low, and no adequate sound/noise control.
Otherwise...it was a wonderful evening!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLIked the portion size. GreatLIked the portion size. Great to go on Sunday as parking was ab reeze--no permit parking on Sunday! $38 menu was just fine and deelish. had to wait 20 mins for a tablebut hostess checked in with us periodically and service was prompt once we sat down. loved the cozy atmosphere.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice salad, unmemorableVery nice salad, unmemorable chicken dish, interesting sounding but somewhat disappointing vanilla-parsnip cake with cream cheese ice cream. It wasn't really clear to me from the website that, on Sunday evenings, their only offering is a $38 prix fixe menu. We were prompt at 6:00 but by the time we left it was really pretty noisy.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was wonderful. TheDinner was wonderful. The Cavatelli was amazing as was the brussell sprout appetizer!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful experience in allwonderful experience in all ways. our server johnny was superb. i have some dietary concerns and he was so helpful and accommodating - wonderful can do attitude. everyone very attentive. this place definitely embraces the concept of excellent customer service. bravo! wouldn't hesitate to return. last time i was in that restaurant it was the craigie street bistrot another heavenly place!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and staff, a wonderfulGreat food and staff, a wonderful date night with my husband! We did the tasting menu with the wine and all was fabulous. Thank you!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a wonderful placeThis is a wonderful place to eat. It is nice being tucked away in a neighborhood. The tasting menu is delightful. Two our of four of the wine pairings were a little weak. But that does not detract from the great food. We can't wait to go back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOmnivores & Vegetarians FoodiesThis place is amazing. Without a doubt, get the tasting menu. Also, it has one of the best food/drink pairings that you will get anywhere.
The vegetarian tasting is a delicious steal.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat place for a tasty mealgreat place for a tasty meal - we loved "the perfect cheese" desert. The service was pretty good with no rushing, well timed food delivery and insightful description of the menu items - we will go back3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. The food was really flavorful, particularly the Bibb lettuce salad and the Housemade cavatelli. Phenomenal!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been here often andWe have been here often and the food, wine and service are consistently outstanding. The noise level can be annoying but somehow it doesn't spoil the warm and friendly Cambridge ambience. Even my carnivore husband, who usually much prefers the classic steak house places, now considers this his favorite restaurant.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThoughtfully composed and brilliantEverything we ate was thoughtfully composed and outstanding. All three courses were really noteworthy. The pierogi were heavenly, the brussel sprouts bold and delicious. The handmade pasta with mushrooms was one of the most amazing dishes we had ever tried in our lives.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fabulous. ClearlyThe food was fabulous. Clearly freshly prepared. I like that it offers a fix prixe menu as well as a la carte.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great atmosphere,Great food, great atmosphere, great experience. Crowded. We had a great table in a corner, most tables are check by jowl. We thought parking would be a huge issue, could not find any parking close, but then the restaurant told us we could park on the street, they would not ticket.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food with attentiveVery good food with attentive service and good atmostphere (once inside). Nothing that "wow-ed" (admittedly a very high bar for me) but certainly no complaints.
I would recommend and visit again.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe experienced the tastingWe experienced the tasting menu for vegans, pescitarians and omnivores. All were delicious and augmented by the wine pairings. Trust this chef. We will certainly be back.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the atmosphere atWe loved the atmosphere at 10 Tables. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. My one complaint was, believe it or not, the menu. Both my husband and I found it quite limited in terms of the entrees. While we each found one to choose, we each would have been hard pressed to come up with a second entree. With this in mind I asked how often the menu changed and was disappointed to learn that it changed only seasonally. It won't be until Spring that I would consider returning and that is too bad.1/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
