Continue on Garden St towards the lights after the hotel. Bare left at the lights and continue on to Concord Ave. Take a left at the next set of lights on to Craigie St, we are on the righthand side.

  • "Came to Ten Tables after a long hiatus. Ten Tables used to be known for Krista's focus on non-pretentious food, and more importantly her hospitality. It turns out that while Ten Tables Cambridge still serves up good food, it became pretentious and we had poor service. We ordered the "surprise" prix fixe. Beer order had to be repeated. When beer came, it was served on the wrong glass. Waitress was condescending in explaining the food, to the point I will have preferred not getting a presentation of the food. When asked to please repeat the presentation, waitress did an even poorer job than the first time. Patrons next to us had their order mixed up, and the entire time they were there they stared at us gloomily."

  • "Ten Tables is definitely one of the more expensive places to eat in the Harvard Square area but it is quite a dining experience. They have very unique dishes (prunes in a pork dish) that you won't find at many other places. If you are dining with another person be prepared to spend at least 100 dollars not including drinks but if you are a foodie this please is definitely top tier! This is not a quite place as there is not much free space between tables. That being said the wait staff do a great job in navigating the admittedly tight quarters."

  • "My husband and I went to the Sunday supper, a three course meal for $39. Although there were only four choices for the entrée and appetizer, there were two things we both thought sounded good to us. We both had the hangar steak, fries, and shrimp appetizer. Both were outstanding. Since I am allergic to milk products, they substituted their standard desserts with a homemade sorbet and my husband had the flourless chocolate cake. This is one of the best restaurants in the Boston area and is also a good value."

  • "This is a cozy little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a great comfort food menu. Great food, nice portions, well presented, and served with friendly wait staff. We've gone several times now - always with friends who eat out a lot more often than we, and each has loved it! The Giannone Chicken al Mattone (press-baked with brick or skillet on top for weight) is incredibly moist and delicious. The only disappointment is that the bar does not serve liquor, but that's a small issue, as the wine list is sufficiently long. Enjoy!"

Be warned that they don't have a full liquor license, but they do a great job making their takes on your favorites [dark and stormy, old fashioned, greyhound]. From the service to the food to the ambience, everything about this place is great! We'll certainly be back."

  • "Food: all right, but not great. Salad had lots of components that tasted good enough but didn't come together in a particularly delicious way. Pasta itself was good, but came with a very soupy sauce. Dessert was forgettable. Atmosphere: dark, a bit severe, egg crate foam on the ceiling, obvious that you're in a basement. Also, I felt the banquette was too low for comfort (I'm 5'8"). Service: fine, but not especially attentive. It wasn't a bad meal, but one can do much better in Cambridge for these prices."

  • "I was hoping this place was closer to the ART since it is listed as Harvard Square but it would be a half hour walk. The ambiance is wonderful, kind of romantic, intimate pub. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Bread service particularly good with a fresh crusty rolls and crackers, served with both good olive oil and a lentil dip. Celery soup was outstanding, served piping hot with a horse radish cream. My entree was very good, scallops cooked perfectly with an interesting preparation. My husband liked his entree less, braised pork, that came out in a wide soup bowl full of saucy pork and veggies, but he felt like it all tasted the same. His seemed like pub food, though not priced that way. Smallish entree portions."

  • "I had a wonderful experience at Ten Tables this past Friday evening. We made a late reservation at 9 pm for dinner, and the restaurant was as lively as if it were actually dinner time. I was fully impressed with each dish we ordered, most notably the boar sausage appetizer, the scallops with spicy carrot puree, and the goat cheesecake. The cheesecake in particular will make me come back to Ten Tables as soon as possible! The table next to mine did the chef's tasting menu, which seemed like it was well worth the money. I will likely take this approach next time for the smaller portions and greater variety of dishes."

  • "Everyone raves about this place, so had to try it. We did the Sunday pre-fix menu which was surprisingly diverse, including veggie options. Soups and salads were very good. Steak was chewy which was disappointing. But, dessert made up for it! Atmosphere is ok, not sure I would call it romantic or anything. Its below level so no big windows or anything. And tables are pretty tight."

  • "We chose Ten Tables for a romantic date, on the recommendation of friends. It was our first time at the restaurant. The servers were very friendly and prompt, and inspired us to try the chef's tasting menu. It was delightful, creative and delicious. My date cannot eat gluten and she was delighted to find so many gluten free options on the menu, and our tasting menu was entirely gluten free. We had a really special night and I would recommend it to my friends as well."

  • "I've been to Ten Tables in Cambridge twice, and in Provincetown once. Always enjoyable. This most recent visit was lovely, the food was very good, and the service good and friendly. My one complaint is that we really felt rushed. Our reservation was at 5:45, and the place became pretty crowded shortly after we arrived. Still, when you have a reservation you should expect that you can linger a bit. I know it's a small place and on a Saturday night turnover is brisk, but still, I should be able to take a breath between courses. This is why you don't go to a restaurant on Saturday night, I suppose. Overall, would recommend--on a weeknight!"

  • "We enjoyed ten tables (on Cragie St, Cambridge) for a special night out dinner. They had more like 17 tables :-) The restaurant was not packed on our Thursday evening visit. I was the first one there at 6pm and sat at the bar until my wife arrived. The bar is also cozy and if you are lucky it would be a nice spot to eat at the bar, but maybe 6 seats available. I did find that the breeze will reach you on these unusually cold nights if you sit at the bar, by the door. They had a great porter on tap, which was kind of like a black IPA. And while we reviewed the extensive wine list, it was a craft beer type of night. Porter for me, Lagunitas IPA for her. The appetizers and entrees were wonderful, coming from a menu that changes daily."

The food was prepared as ordered and was unusually crafted so there were pleasant surprises for most of the dishes. We had some vegetarians and some who had steak or chicken. All around raves. In addition a pris fixe chef choice tasting menu is offered with the food tailored to the guest's taste of food and/or allergies. Have tried it in the past with several guests and, it has been a satisfying experience. The wait staff provided an excellent service. The wine list is small but good."

  • "The food was excellent. Service was a bit awkward and disjointed. I wasn't entirely sure who was our actual waiter/waitress, as many different people checked in. The awkwardness had to do with how close the tables were, frequently the servers helping the tables on either side of us felt like they were in our laps. Might be better to have fewer tables since they are so close together. It's been a few years since we went to the JP location, but I feel like I liked the ambiance a bit more. That said, food was spectacular and the Cambridge Sour was a fantastic cocktail! The detailed parking information on the website was much appreciated."

All around the food was well-prepared and interesting, from flat iron steak to scallops to pork shank. We received competent direction with the wine, as well, and our waitress was attentive without hovering. We will return!"

My husband had the three course prix fixe dinner which he loved and I had the 'Gulf of Maine hake with roasted fingerlings' which was cooked perfectly. My son had the scallops - they disappeared within minutes of their arrival. We shared an appetizer of duck and pork pate - it was excellent - and the men each had the bean and bacon soup, a good choice on a bitter cold night. I had the chocolate terrine with salt toffee ice cream for dessert - so rich and good - and I always have a cup of their outstanding cappuccino; it is the best in Boston and a wonderful way to end a fabulous meal. The service was excellent - the wait staff is well-informed, unruffled and attentive."

  • "My girlfriend and I came here for the vegetarian tasting menu. While I generally don't like surprises this was definitely a pleasant one! The appetizer, soup, main course and dessert were all delightful, and well worth the price. In addition, the organic wine pairing worked perfectly with all the courses (they have a 2-for-1 special on the pairing on weekday nights). The atmosphere was charming and quiet, and the service, impeccable. A dinner at Ten Tables is definitely a great way to celebrate a special occasion!"

  • "We used to like this place back when it was Craigie St. The interior hasn't changed much and happily, the food remains reliably good. It's a cozy space, with tables close together, so it can be a bit noisy depending on the diners at the next table. The service is attentive and professional, well-versed re: the menu and wine list, and generally unhurried. The food is beautifully presented. Some dishes shine more than others. Surprisingly, the greens with apple and blue cheese is a winning starter that we normally might have passed over, but it is outstanding in its combination of flavors and presentation. Recommended for a grown-up date night."
