We've been to Ten Tables on several occasions and for the most part really enjoy the atmosphere and food at this relatively small restaurant. This past Saturday's menu was not quite as interesting as previous visits. The overall quality was below their usual norm. The fries that accompanied the steak lacked the crisp finish that one would associated with Steak Frites. The scallops were tasty, but unevenly sized and with only 4 or 5 scallops, I was left wishing for a few more. The beat salad that we shared was to die for, but too small for sharing. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but that's nothing new. Our servers were all very nice and prompt. We'll go back, but not right as quickly as we might had we felt better about the meal.

We were less hungry than we should have been given the attention they put in. Our one table was warped a bit so it was hard to keep a spoon. The wines were underwhelming except for a dessert wine pairing with choco that was from Maury in Rousaillion. That was outstanding.

This was our first visit to Ten Tables and we will definitely be going back. The vibe was relaxed yet lively. Servers were attentive. We had salad greens with grapes, pistachios and champagne vinaigrette and the cold tomato soup for starters, and the scallops and squash and rabbit for mains - very delicious with especially good sauces. We ordered a bottle of wine which ended up "dying" after it was opened and they readily provided us with a different bottle, no questions asked. Good place for a date, dinner with a friend, or a small group.

Went here to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. The food was delicious. The salad of local greens wasn't overdressed and pistachios added a nice crunch. The short rib-stuffed burger was a meat lover's dream. The pan-seared chicken was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and moist inside. The bread pudding was yummy and the chocolate terrine was outstanding. My only small complaint is that the server removed the bread plate along with the salad plates. I would have liked another roll. Also, the subdued lighting makes it feel more basement-like than it should (even though it is in a basement space).

Service was attentive. Food falls far below expectations. We are from San Francisco. We have restaurants rated 24 that are far better then Ten Tables. Two of us ordered stripped sea bass that tasted like cotton. The hand made pasta's flavor was over powered by salt. And the stake was very average (we sampled each other's dishes). Oh the Maine bean salad tastes and looks like broiled veges. We paid more than $70 per person for four. Will never come back nor will we trust Zagat rating again.

Ten Tables is in a basement and you go down a few steps to enter the small space. We almost opened the restaurant (6 pm reservation) so it was a clean as it would get ... the entrance was filthy. There was dirt and paper scraps on the floor. The management and staff were standing around and either did not see it or chose to ignore the dirt. The main room was relatively clean, but the initial impression was off putting. The menu is rather limited and they offered no specials. Our group tried several dishes and they were generally good, but not exceptional. Just on food, I would rate this 4-stars. It was the dirty entrance really brought this place down and I would never come back.

I chose the vegetarian tasting menu while my companion chose the non-vegetarian one. We both had the same dish to start off with: 3 cube-like pieces of watermelon with a dollop of vanilla yogurt, garnished with some alfalfa sprouts. My next dish was a cold soup that burned my insides and basically stripped my tongue's ability to taste anything thereafter. The dessert was particularly underwhelming, a dry piece of chocolate chip slice. The service was also quite horrendous as the waiter completely ignored my request to have the onions removed as a topping for my pasta dishes. This horrific experience cost us $170 and the waiter never even asked if we were enjoying our meal.

The original Ten Tables in JP only had ten tables, this one has more than that. Great restaurant with a fine menu and very nice staff. A bit away from Harvard Square, but with ample parking. Menu is geared to locally sourced items. Rich in flavor and creatively put together. Would definitely go back!

My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner at Ten Tables before going to a show in Cambridge. We parked in one of the reserved spots in front and were warmly greeted and seated even though we were a little early for our reservation. The atmosphere is tastefully casual. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the preparation of each item and was highly attentive throughout the evening. The food was delicious! We will definitely be back.

Tasty food, attentive service...a very fun experience if you are willing to try new things. Three people in party, we each ordered something different: pasta, sea bass, steak and frittes. ALL were outstanding. We also ordered muscles and beet salad to start. Unique tastes to all dishes. Service was impecable and attentive. Atmosphere is cozy and intimate. I would go here for any special ocasion.

Love Ten Tables in JP, decided to try TT in Cambridge. Was wonderful. Absolutely fit for Foodies, the atmosphere makes it perfect for a quiet dinner. Food was almost perfect; I dropped one star because both entrees (steak - and esp. the accompanying fries & the cavatelli) were significantly over-salted (this being reviewed by a salt-lover). Since we didn't experience this at the JP location, I'm assuming it's Chef's preference, everything was cooked to perfection, but again, for us...a bit overly seasoned. Will absolutely be returning, we will just asked for half the amount of salt - problem solved.

The chef's and staff's attention to detail was clearly evident. I had inquired a day in advance regarding a gluten-free tasting menu. They remembered our conversation and prepared a wonderful progression flavors. A hint of basil was the common thread from one course to the next. The flavors were excellent, the knife cuts precise and consistent, the presentation artful.

The "surprise" vegetarian tasting menu had good reviews online, but for us it failed to live up to its billing and was frankly quite mediocre. The first and second courses were a single vegetable with some sauce (a zucchini and a carrot) respectively, and while the 3rd course (a small helping of risotto) was quite good, the dessert wasn't even really dessert, being just a slab of goat cheese with some jam - a total of 3 of 4 courses had goat cheese! Overall we were still unsatisfied, maybe even a bit hungry when we left. The table placement also wasn't great, a couple of tables were squeezed into the hallway with constant back and forth of traffic to get plates/spoons from a cupboard.

We were so pleased with the entire experience--From getting one of the 4 parking spots out front to the warm and knowledgeable service of our waitress. We went with the Chef's menu ($48 so reasonable) which turned out to be delicious, from the amuse-Bouche to the pair of desserts. (The Thai basil ice cream with the chocolate cake was awesome). Since we did not know what we would be eating, we asked if wines could be paired with each of the 4 courses. They were generous servings and perfectly matched. The duck arrived a bit too rare but was happily taken back formore cooking and returned upon a replenished bed of succotash which was fabulous. We enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to returning soon.

Ten Tables remains in the cellar of an apt. building on Craigie Street near the former Radcliffe Quad on Garden Street. Menu, food, and service still superb, as is wine list, though one can hardly see it. I'd recommend brighter lights on each table, since overall lighting is very dim. Parking is also a problem, unless you arrive before 6 PM and snag one of 4 spaces allotted to Ten Tables in the apt. parking lot. Craigie St. parking is safe on Sat. and Sunday, however.

This review refers to the wine-dinner featuring Italian wines, held July 16, 2014. This was our first visit to the Cambridge location; we have eaten at the Jamaica Plain location several times and consider it to be one of the best restaurants in Boston. Ten Tables Cambridge is the equal of Ten Tables JP. The food is great; fairly adventurous without being weird. The wine pairings are just brilliant, with wines that are less-known but that deserve to be far better-known. Ten Tables in general gives good value; the wine dinners are especially good values because the fixed price includes four glasses of wine. Ambience is not spectacular but it is certainly attractive, and the service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We'll be back!

Knowing I'm eating GMO free pasture raised meats and chemical free produce is really important to me. I was happy to find this place as there don't seem to be many conscientious dining options near Cambridge. I wanted to love this place, but most of what both me and my finance had was pretty mediocre. Thankfully we came on a Sunday for the $38 prefix, because we would have been pretty unhappy to pay more for the food. Overall I give it a 4 because it WAS good quality food, it's gluten-free friendly (most days their fryer is GF!!! fries! yes.) and although I wasn't wowed by the food, I walked out of there without a stomach ache. Big plus. I'll probably return for the burger with fries at some point. Maybe they were having a bad night.

Its in the residential area and doesn't look like there would be much happening inside. But once you enter, the atmosphere changes to a warm, cozy, elegant restaurant with romantic ambiance and amazing service! Not for vegetarians and not many choices on menu but everything that came from kitchen was yum. My chicken entree melted in mouth and had great variety of flavors to it. Chocolate tangerine dessert was very unique and tasted so good! A must try!

Took our adult, foodie kids here for a celebratory dinner. Great night, appropriately nonintrusive but attentive service, very nice wine. We all had the chef's tasting menu. One course, a medallion of monkfish paired with beet greens and green tomatoes, was sublime; the rest was good but not particularly special. Would go again some day and order off the menu to give it a second try.
