We eat here several times a year and it is always delicious. The two of us had the 4 course tasting menu where the chef determines the courses and we split a half liter of the good house wine. The pace and service were just right. The chef himself served the main course and checked on our dinner. Our only minor complaint is a matter of preference - one of the desserts was a dense dark chocolate confection topped with basil flavored ice cream. The basil flavor is clear enough but we're not crazy about ice cream with herb flavors.

On the recommendation of a friend I recently invited two business associated to dinner at Ten Tables in Cambridge. The food, wine selection and service were all excellent. And although the restaurant was full it was still possible to have a conversation without shouting. It was a thoroughly wonderful meal. The Tasting Menu was wonderful and allowed the chef to select a wine flight to match the food. Amazing - the wine pairings were quite different than I would have chosen but it proved to be uniformly excellent. The chef nailed it. Highly recommended.

We had high hopes for Ten Tables. The menu is a joy to read but we were disappointed repeatedly in the execution of the listed foods. For instance the artisanal cheese appetizer included a block of a very hard cheese. Two people at our table tried to cut into it with our butter knives. We were offered no other choice except perhaps to gnaw at it. Ultimately and predictably it flew off the table onto the floor. Then we were offered steak knives for it. Someone in the kitchen should have thought this through a bit better. The cheeseburger had good flavor but was actually more of a meatloaf on a bun. We were warned that it would necessarily be served well-done but a well-done broil is different from what amounted to baked ground beef. Since it was stuffed with truffles the high moisture content had the effect of steaming the meat. The subtle truffle flavor was lost within the stronger flavors of the cheese and aioli. The bone marrow dumplings were pretty much just dumplings though the crispy chicken confit offered a nice contrast. The steaks (both hanger and ribeye) were fine with very good flavor though the french fries were too salty. The two best entrees of the eight we tried were the delicata squash with rabbit confit and the shellfish sausage. All in all we felt there were good intentions but poor execution and oversight of the finished plates.

Our recent visit was a bit disappointing. Service which used to be friendly and helpful was surprisingly surly across multiple staff members. The pumpkin and apple soup was delicious. A potato & mushroom pave had clearly been rewarmed and had a thick burned layer on the bottom and burnt & dried out corners. I am really hoping it was just an off night as we have loved Ten Tables Cambridge since they opened.

My wife and I dined at Ten Tables Cambridge in Nov. for her birthday. The service was very good and attentive. They took the time to explain the dishes to us, gave us a sorbet with a candle for desert and cleared table quite quickly. My wife had a seafood sausage that she didn't like, because of how rich it was, and only ate a little bit. The waiter took it off the bill without even asking. Very nice gesture since we would have happily paid. My two gripes are on the menu and the name. The menu served that night included very rich items and very strong flavors. So, it you want lighter fare then this might not be your place, but if you like rich and savory then go here. Also, they have more than ten tables which disappointed me. I would go back for dinner in a few months.

We looked forward to the Monday night wine dinner at the Cambridge location. The four selections of wine were diverse and well-matched the four courses offered. There was no choice in any of the four course. Also, we were a party of two and we were not allowed to have one person do the wine dinner and the other do the a la carte menu. I have do idea why this was the rule but the waiter said something about how the chef wanted the meals served. I have rarely run across this kind of chef rule. The first course was a delicious pear with creamy cheese. The second and third courses were disappointing. The shredded chicken with puff pastry was OK but much too salty and the smoked steak was much too overcooked. The dessert course was very good.

We "discovered" that they have more than ten tables because they are related to a restaurant of the same name in Jamaica Plain. We shared the bone marrow dumplings appetizer which was delicious. My wife had the burger and I had the shellfish sausage. She liked her's and had enough to take some home. The sausage was delicious and the pommes anna with the shaved sprouts was a tasty combination. We enjoyed a pumpkin creme brulee. It wasn't as firm as we expected and the flavor didn't pop out as much as we expected but we finished every bite. Service was excellent and we couldn't could have asked for more. It was empty when we got there at 6:00PM, but was packed when we left. We'd go back for a special occasion in the future.

If you can manage to get your stroller down to the basement it is surprisingly baby friendly. While we were there with our infant we saw two others as well. Ambiance is great and food was generally good though there were some misses. Greens that came with hanger steak were way too salty. Chocolate dessert was too thick and didn't mesh well with ice cream. Hanger steak itself was great and fluke was cooked perfectly.

Ten Tables is a lovely spot—we really wanted to like it! We had been there before and liked it without loving it. We thought we would give it another try. We decided to have the squash soup, bone marrow dumplings, burgers and pumpkin creme brûlée. The burgers are unusual and sound delicious, combining ground beef with braised short rib and truffles. In the end, our feeling was that the appetizers and dessert were good, but not great, and the burgers did justice neither to burgers nor to short ribs, with the truffles basically getting lost among the other flavors. Bottom line, the food was a disappointment, particular considering the $110 (with tip) price tag. Most of the pubs in Harvard Square provide better food at one third the price.

I was there for a birthday celebration with six people, three of whom were vegetarian (I am not). Despite the wonderful reviews, I was sorely disappointed w/ both the quality and quantity of food. Not only were vegetarian options on the menu lacking (we didn't do the tasting menu) - there were just two non-fish, non-meat options - one appetizer and one entree) but when they came, they were small, and woefully uncreative. A giant bowl with a cup and a half of pasta, 3 kale leaves, and uninteresting cream sauce for $26? The soup was similarly uninteresting. The beet salad was literally four pieces of beet, six pieces of cucumber, and a few crumbles of some kind of cheese spread artfully around a small plate - again, for like $11. good burger

Ten Tables Cambridge does get noisy...we had a table in the corner, which helped, but it was still difficult to hear. Service was good but a little bit brusque. The food was excellent. I had an unusual and absolutely delicious salad, with greens I don't usually encounter, plus blueberries, roasted pistachios, superb light dressing. The fish also was terrific--cooked beautifully, with a light tomato coulis sauce and an interpretation of ratatouille, which was just right.

A lively and friendly neighborhood restaurant, but one that does not seem like it's worth a detour or a special trip. One appetizer was uninspired (beet salad) but the other was really amazing (marrow dumplings). The entrees were less than the sum of their parts, and rather pricey. Tables are close together, and a romantic setting seems possible only on an uncrowded evening. Service was friendly but quite slow. Overall, a nice enough spot, but I would not walk or drive past better restaurants to return here.

I have been here a few times and it never disappoints! The wine list is extensive and very nice pairings to compliment the meals. We started with the cheese plate which was out of this world along with a glass of malbec. The Cavatelli with Sweet Corn Cream, Wild Mushrooms, Kale and Pickled Red Onion Salad & Confit Cherry Tomatoes topped with fresh shaved truffles was a flavor explosion! So delcious! The creme brulee dessert was also subperb. I would highly recommend this place for a casual, yet delightful meal.

We've been to Ten Tables on several occasions and for the most part really enjoy the atmosphere and food at this relatively small restaurant. This past Saturday's menu was not quite as interesting as previous visits. The overall quality was below their usual norm. The fries that accompanied the steak lacked the crisp finish that one would associated with Steak Frites. The scallops were tasty, but unevenly sized and with only 4 or 5 scallops, I was left wishing for a few more. The beat salad that we shared was to die for, but too small for sharing. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but that's nothing new. Our servers were all very nice and prompt. We'll go back, but not right as quickly as we might had we felt better about the meal.

This was our first visit to Ten Tables and we will definitely be going back. The vibe was relaxed yet lively. Servers were attentive. We had salad greens with grapes, pistachios and champagne vinaigrette and the cold tomato soup for starters, and the scallops and squash and rabbit for mains - very delicious with especially good sauces. We ordered a bottle of wine which ended up "dying" after it was opened and they readily provided us with a different bottle, no questions asked. Good place for a date, dinner with a friend, or a small group.

Went here to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. The food was delicious. The salad of local greens wasn't overdressed and pistachios added a nice crunch. The short rib-stuffed burger was a meat lover's dream. The pan-seared chicken was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and moist inside. The bread pudding was yummy and the chocolate terrine was outstanding. My only small complaint is that the server removed the bread plate along with the salad plates. I would have liked another roll. Also, the subdued lighting makes it feel more basement-like than it should (even though it is in a basement space).

Service was attentive. Food falls far below expectations. We are from San Francisco. We have restaurants rated 24 that are far better then Ten Tables. Two of us ordered stripped sea bass that tasted like cotton. The hand made pasta's flavor was over powered by salt. And the stake was very average (we sampled each other's dishes). Oh the Maine bean salad tastes and looks like broiled veges. We paid more than $70 per person for four. Will never come back nor will we trust Zagat rating again.
