Ten MercerA find.We have walked past Ten Mercer numerous times between Seattle Center theatres and other dining destinations before or after a play. Finding a 20% off entrees coupon in our SSC ticket packet, we decided to give it a try. The four of us who attend together all loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. We'll be back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLong time favorite! We have been going to Ten Mercer for many years. Always great food in a great environment. Beautiful bar! It can get very very busy around show times but you will enjoy it either way!
The beef tenderloin appetizer is one of my all time favorites. Mixed drinks are great and the wine list is perfect, something for every price range!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCheerful, professional service.Cheerful, professional service. A solide menu with not too much 'frou frou', well executed.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our dinner, theWe enjoyed our dinner, the service and the ambiance. We chose this restaurant because of its closeness to The Intiman. The waitress asked us if we were on a time line. We arrived at 5 and departed before 7 which was absolutely perfect.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-SSC dinner!Fabulous for a pre-Seattle Shakes dinner - delicious food and fast, gracious service!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Sunday dinner for twoQuiet dinner for two on a Sunday night. Our waitress was very professional and knowledgeable. I had the lamb, husband the special fish of the day which was sturgeon. Both very good. Would definitely go back. Nice wine by the glass selection.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaraunt Week menu was aRestaraunt Week menu was a good sampling of regular menu items. Table service was excellent, but kitchen got behind and dessert was delayed. However, waitress kept us informed and offered complementary coffee service while we waited. The dessert was excellent and beautifully presented when it did arrive.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for repeat visitsMy second dinner at Ten Mercer and I will be back for many more. The decor is a fun comfortable warehouse/lodgy feel. Food is eclectic and wonderful. Unusual combinations, with a pleasantly surprising taste. Portions are perfect--not to big, but fulfilling. The wait staff is very attentive to the diner's needs. I come here before the theater and ballet, and they always get me out in time to make the event. The noise level is subdued. I and my guests can actually hear each other.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTen Mercer was recommendedTen Mercer was recommended by the hotel we stayed at and as it was just around the corner, we decided to give it a try. It was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was so personable and helpful. The food was wonderful. I have already told several people about it as a good place to go if they are in Seattle.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe flour less chocolate cakeThe flour less chocolate cake with caramel was heavenly. The staff is always very friendly and efficient--well-run restaurant.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur recent visit to Ten MercerOur recent visit to Ten Mercer was less than we have experienced in the past. While the service was very good, the food was lacking in usual quality. My crab cakes and asparagus was good, but my partner's order of scallops with saffron pasta was lacking. The scallops were underdone in the center and not even warm, and the pasta was barely warm. He sent the dish back for more heat. On return, the scallops were more well cooked, but the pasta was still not hot. The pasta was sent back and returned well heated. The lack of appropriate temperature was redeemed by not charging for that entree. We will go back at some point, but the kitchen needs to step up the quality.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our all-time favoritesOne of our all-time favorites for dinner before the theater or ballet.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very fine diningWe had a very fine dining experience at Ten Mercer. Great food, great service, great ambiance, and very good value for the qaulity.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDiverse and delicious menu.Diverse and delicious menu. Many unique items. Service was fantastic.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointed This TimeWe have been here several times and the food is always excellent. Unfortunately, the noise level was ear shattering. We had a group of four next to us that carried on too loudly. there was also a rush to get us done as they picked up our plates before we were really finished. This has never happened before. So, we are now looking for a new place to go before theater.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful unrushedWe had a wonderful unrushed dinner. Our waiter was so pleasant and knowledgeable. We will return again soon.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWE three had an early lightWE three had an early light dinner before a play at the Rep, nearby. The valet parked our car and gave us the keys after dinner so that we didn't have to re-park, much easing the evening. Our choices included a simple house salad, the sole ("delicious" said Jan, the Lamb Sugo, a dish new to me and not to be missed, and a vegan plate for our guest. All preparations were done with care, served similarly, and entirely satisfactory.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTook a while for the food,Took a while for the food, but the service was great. They kept us going with plenty of bread and gave us a free dessert for the trouble.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTen Mercer has been one ofTen Mercer has been one of our favorite Seattle restaurants for years. We always look forward to spending an evening here!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently excellent foodConsistently excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended. The Stilton burger is the best burger around and the accompanying fries to die for!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy the opportunityWe always enjoy the opportunity to dine at Ten Mercer on the rare occassion we get into Seattle.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTen Mercer is TopsTen Mercer is never disappointing. Great service, excellent food, wine selection is amazing. There is no other place in Queen Anne that compares.
Make reservations way in advance for weekend dining. They are always packed.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Meal to Return ForDinner at Ten Mercer during the March 2013 Dine Around Seattle promotion. Three courses, $30, with an extensive list of entree choices (compared to many restaurants' 3 options). Lobster bisque was fabulous (even better than Palisade's) & eggplant starter similarly swoon-worthy. Beef tenderloin entree was a hearty, rich portion, & the chef met my needs exactly: no pink left in my beef but still so tender and juicy. Halibut on lobster hash was our one letdown: too many other flavors going on, so the lobster was lost in the hash. But dessert redeemed the evening: a chocolate torten to rival our favorite molten chocolate cake ever, & a rich, satisfying creme brulee. Great wine & drinks list, nicely timed service. A return visit is a must!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went during "Dine AroundWe went during "Dine Around Seattle" and had the $30 for three courses menu, so six different plates between the two of us. Nothing was out of this world superb, but every dish was unique and tasty as well as being exquisitely plated. We sat a table facing the second floor window, and I loved that they sat both of us facing the window -- it meant that our backs were to all the other diners, and combined with the great view of lower Queen Anne it made for a very romantic dinner.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been here several times.I've been here several times. They did a fantastic job helping me host a birthday dinner for me and 20 friends a few years ago. You can spend a lot of money on dinner here, but you can also get delicious burger or a delicious pasta dish and a nice glass of wine for less than $25. I recently went in for Dine Around Seattle, and while the service was excellent as ever, and some dishes were really delicious, there were a few misses: the duck was overcooked, the lobster risotto was quite bland. Overall, still a good dinner, and I will return. They also seem to really understand the pre-theater crowd's needs.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is excellent, but portionsFood is excellent, but portions are small. I ordered the sea scallops and it came with 3 scallops! They were delicious, and supplemented with some pasta. But really, 3?!?!
Service was fabulous. We were dining pre-theater and they were very attuned to our timing.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Friday night dinner. The food was great and the service was impeccable. It was nice to be able to site down, enjoy a meal and be able to carry on a conversation. Everyone enjoyed their dinner very much.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food; good portions.Excellent food; good portions. Service was friendly and attentive. I recommend 10 Mercer highly.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAppreciate the gluten-freeAppreciate the gluten-free menu - wish more restaurants had them!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM10 Mercer Pre-Show: Do It!We were at 10 Mercer for a pre-Opera dinner so of course the place was packed. But even so, our server was somewhere beyond fantastic (& extremely attentive, even to charging my partner's cell phone while we ate -- critical as we were meeting a friend.) And, of course, even with a crowd, 10 Mercer did not disappoint. Our cocktails were divine -- my rye Manhattan was one of the best I've had & the sugar rim on my partner's peartini looked painted on it was so stunning. The meals were divinely superb -- she had duck, I had the beef medallions. We both loved my grilled asparagus, both meats were done to perfection, the acoutrments were just dying to be with the main meat dishes. The only downer: no room for dessert! They looked SO good!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experienceTen Mercer staff made our dining very enjoyable. We were asked if we were going to an event so they could make sure we were served in a timely manner. We were also asked if we wanted to sit downstairs in or near bar or upstairs where it was quieter. Upstairs was very pleasant and we had no trouble conversing. Our waitress suggested that we not order certain dishes as they may interfere with our leaving on time for the opera. We ordered appetizers to share. We enjoyed them all, especially the crab cakes with the little fries. The salad was dressed beautifully. Our cocktail was lovely. We want to go back when we are not on a time limit so we will have more choices on the menu.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu had something forThe menu had something for everyone. It was quiet enough to have a conversation. The service was great and timed courses well so we finished in plenty of time so we could get to our evening performance.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Ten Mercer duringWe went to Ten Mercer during "Dine Around Seattle". My friend had the fish of the day (mahi-mahi) which was lovely. I had the lamb sugo and was truly in paradise. Since we weren't drinking that evening, I only gave the wine list a cursory glance - there seemed to be a wide selection. The restaurant itself is modern and comfortable, and the waitstaff friendly and knowledgeable.3/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, especiallyFood was excellent, especially the Petrale Sole. The service was quick and the wait staff were knowledgeable regarding the specials. Pricing was moderate...the place is a "do-over".Parking is tight.Liked the ability of booking reservations on line and the on line followup.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food before the theatreConsistently very good food, the sort we'd be unlikely to make at home. But not pretentious. Reasonably sized portions--we always split appetizer, main dish and dessert. Most professional servers and sous-servers, knowledgeable about the preparation without overselling. The owner hires very well and supervises as you would hope in an excellent restaurant. And they know how to get you out the door to the performance.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it! We go all the time.We love this restaurant! We discovered the Penn Cove Mussels and Grilled Romaine Salad, and loved them so much, this is all we have when dining there (along with wine). Better than all the entrees. This is our go-to restaurant for pre-opera or theater dining. They also have gluten-free menus, which we appreciate. The owner (manager?) always comes by to see how our dinner is. Nice personal touch. They're not open for lunch, only dinner, which is too bad, as we'd go there for lunch, too, if we could.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe eat here before the theaterWe eat here before the theater a few times a year and I am always satisfied. The staff goes out of their way to be welcoming. Good Job!2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSensitive to Center schedulesSensitive to Center schedules so the staff was prompt and courteous. Food was seasonal; wine options by the glass were distinctive. Hostess was effective greeting diners and cheerful. Observed owner checking table service and delivering plates at peak service time. Now that's what I call personal service. Will return with confidence in the future.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre-performance diningTen Mercer is our go-to restaurant for dining before performances at the Seattle Center. The menu changes just enough to remain interesting and there is a nice variety. The service is courteous, prompt, and informed. We are always finished in plenty of time to get to the event before curtain time.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our firstWe really enjoyed our first visit to Ten Mercer and will definitely return. The food was very good and the service was impeccable. Wine list was limited and menues were hard to read in the dining room because of the very dim light.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBased on a family member'sBased on a family member's recommendation, we made a reservation to eat before going to a play at the Center. The Happy Hour selection was a pleasant surprise and the menu offered each of us a wonderful entree. I will return the next time I visit Seattle!2/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWashington Chicken was perfection.Washington Chicken was perfection. Mac & Cheese was delicious as well. Was rather funny that we were ranting and raving about how good our meals were when at the same time the table next to us was swearing that their polenta was the best they had ever had. Pretty good sign if you ask me.2/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for my birthdayWe went here for my birthday dinner, and it was fantastic. I really appreciated that they had a gluten free menu, which is harder to find in Seattle than you might think. Overall, I couldn't be happier that I chose this place for my birthday! The food was divine.2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took our son to dinnerWe took our son to dinner saturday evening and enjoyed it very much, we requested to sit upstairs which we did, the only complaint was the table was a bit drafty by the window for my wife.
We all enjoyed dinner though.2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first ventureThis was our first venture to Ten Mercer. We had a great time, would definitely go back and will recommend it to our friends. Superb on all levels!!2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA Lower Queen Anne gem!Distinctive and original food preparations, and very pleasant and attentive staff. One of the best places around for enjoying a relaxed, delicious dinner before heading out for a show at or near the Seattle Center.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
