  • "No staff to greet us at restaurant, we actually had to go to hotel desk to be seated. Restaurant was small and deserted, we were the only patrons. Limited wine menu. Wait staff did not know menu well as menu indicated two sides with entrees but would only allow us to order one. Limited menu and did not have any softshell crab for one of the pastas. The entrees were well seasoned. Limited dessert menu and cheesecake was a no-bake that tasted like it was straight from JELL-O."

  • "We knew we'd be arriving late in New Orleans, with a short time window to have dinner before theatre at the Saengar. So, we made a reservation at the restaurant in our hotel(The Saint). Beautiful place, interesting menu, easy walk to show. What could go wrong? Everything! Despite telling our waitress we wanted to order quickly, we waited 40 minutes for barely-edible food, which I suspect was prepared offsite. Like banquet fare...far below New Orleans standards. Not tempting at all. Still love the hotel, but there's a mcDonalds across the street, I'd recommend."

  • "After a long day of sightseeing in NOLA, we just wanted to grab a bite to eat at our hotel. We were apprehensive because no one was there. We decided to give it a try anyway. Much to our surprise, we enjoyed a dinner that ranked with any we had throughout the area. We chose the dinner for two option ($50) with appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert & 2 glasses of wine. The oyster app. was fantastic !!! Our entrees were just as fabulous, double cut pork chop & catfish. Cheescake & cobbler for dessert. The staff was very attentive and the chef even came out to explain the menu and offer his suggestions. If you're looking for a quiet dinner place without all the tourist hype, give Tempt a try."

  • "We were very disappointed in this restaurant. The menu was far from adventurous. My wife and I had a difficult time choosing something that sounded interesting. We started with the fried oysters and Brussels sprouts. The oysters were good but very small. The Brussels sprouts were burned. The outer leaves were charred and almost inedible. My wife had the Shrimp and red beans for an entree. The shrimp were over cooked and the beans were over spiced. I had the ribs with sweet potatoes. The ribs were ok. The sauce was sweeter than I like. The sweet potatoes were good. All in all the food was worse than anything that we cook at home."

  • "This one is really tough. There are times that you walk into a restaurant and you can just see the incredible opportunities that aren't fully realized. The food was pretty good. The cherry tomato salad and duck confit were solid. The pork chop dish was a bit dry. The service was hit or miss. I'd love to see them pull this restaurant together. They have a neat vibe and ambiance but it's lacking in substance. Sort of an "all hat, no cattle" production. Kudos to the adjoining Burgundy Bar however. Great music on Thursday and Friday night."

  • "Food was okay.... skirt steak was good,but luke warm.... Flounder was okay... Gumbo was NOT gumbo it had kale in it and tasted like a chili. The service was good but, we were the only people in the whole restaurant . It is a very pretty place nicely decorated. We went to the bar after and they had the "Yat Pack" playing and they were good , we enjoyed that."

  • "Wait staff was slow. There was no one else in the restaurant on a Saturday night which should have been an indicator of how terrible their food was going to be. Out of 8 people, no one enjoyed their food. We had to send back our drinks because they were made wrong. The hostess attempted to also be the bar tender. Its a shame how bad this place was."

  • "It had been over a year since I'd eaten at Tempt and beign that it was so delicious the first time I decided to try it again. Even after a year the food, service, and atmosphere was still very impressive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys great food that teases you palate.   • "One of the most attractive new restaurants in NOLA in last several years but they are still trying to find a niche for their food. We were the only table from arrival to when we left so not developing a following yet. Menu a little too edgy for our tastes; we like trying different things but the unusual combinations of ingredients didn't appeal to us. Definitely review the menu before you go to be sure you see items you are willing to try. They really need to add some standard fare for guests who are not as adventurous."

The gumbo was soupy without texture and over cooked. When searching a place for an evening dinner in New Orleans. I sought out the rating on open table. I was very diSappointed."

  • "Service was EXTREMELY slow. There was one waiter and one food carrier with at least 15 tables. The poor fellow tried to provide information and suggestions about the menu and wine list, then he would forget to put in the order. Wine and drinks had to be picked up across the hotel lobby in the bar, he had to go order them and wait for them to be mixed. There were two of us, one ordered flank steak, the other venison. The venison was tender and delicious. The flank steak was without flavor and very chewy. The sides for both dishes were wonderful. We also ordered a chocolate dessert. The cake was dry, the hot chocolate that was served with it was fabulous. New Orleans has far too many choices. This one was disappointing."

  • "If you are looking for a menu with a gazillion choices or plates piled with enough food to feed neighborhood, you will be disappointed. The relatively small selection on the menu provided enough intriguing choices to satisfy all but the pickiest diner. The food was excellently prepared and served in reasonable portions. We were seated in a comfortable corner booth which for us was ideal. Our waiter was helpful, attentive, and efficient. We would definitely consider returning on a future visit to New Orleans."

  • "This was my second time at Tempt and it was just as excellent as the first visit . The food was delicious! All of the people at my table had something different and everyone enjoyed. The gumbo was the best I've had. The only not so good part of our experience was the service. We went on NYE and while the restaurant didn't seem that crowded, our service was pretty slow. It took a while for us to get drinks and our server never came back to ask if we were ok or if we wanted another drink. This may have had something to do with it being NYE but it would have been nice to have been atleast asked about another drink. All in all, experience was good, atmosphere was wonderful, and food was superb!"

From appetizer to dessert- it was a food adventure, we started w/ the Fried Oysters & grilled Brussel Sprouts-rabbit & Fish entrees-ending with creme brûlée topped w/ peanut butter cream sauce & chocolate covered bacon( yes fried bacon coated with chocolate),,!!! All were delicious!"

  • "We read the reviews and expected service to be slow. Our service was good and timely. The decor is contemporary and beautiful but the restaurant is small. There was a huge birthday party while we were there and it was kind of distracting. It ended with a marriage proposal which was very touching. The food also has a contemporary flair to old favorites. It was good and our visit enjoyable but nothing to make it stand out. For fine dining prices, I guess I expect more."

  • "Took over an hour to get apps. Then it seemed they were playing catch up by trying to ouch up the dishes before you were finished with it. They only had two other tables in the restaurant and couldn't manage basic table maintenance like refilling drinks, water extra.. when they did finally refill the waters they filled them with what seemed to be some sort of chemical but they claimed it to be tonic or club soda. The food was fair with the exception of the Balls, we recommend them. Tempt has potential buy needs to work on service and upping their caliber of food."

  • "the kitchen did a decent job at meeting the high standard for tasty cuisine that new orleans is known for. however, the poor service and noisy electronic bar music detracted from the dining experience. the table service seemed very new and inefficient at this business. though pleasant, this team could learn much by copying the team service at any of the brennan restaurants.and the constant pounding electronic noise coming from the bar/billard/lobby adjacent to my dining table (no wall here, just a shear curtain) was most distracting."

  • "coupon we purchased was misleading. it read good for entrees up to $34 however the highest price entrée was $27. I added a side priced at $5 to an entrée priced at $19 and was charged for it. although the food was good I thought we were enticed by deceptive means to frequent this restaurant. the waiter even attempted to charge us for the wine we bought even though the wine was fully included in the coupon purchased from travelzoo."

  • "We were skeptical after reading some reviews, but had a great experience! We were stuck in traffic for a while and called to say we would be late for our reservation. They assured us our table would be ready when we arrived. The food was delicious! We had the boudin balls, mussels, pork chops, fish and rabbit; all were amazing!! Definitely worth the visit."

That would have been fine if it was my husband and me but I as taking a friend out for her birthday.
