  • "Great wine and beer list and the Saganaki is our favorite!"

  • "The food was great, the place was really cool. Service was great. The only bad thing is that it is pretty expensive. Only ordered 3 dishes and a glass of wine for me and my fiance. Check was over 50 bucks, so come prepared."

  • "When I dine in a tapas style restaurant I am looking for perfectly prepared and presented small plates. Temper Grille delivers spot on. My wife and I enjoyed the sea bass, mini sammies, and shrimp ceviche tacos with an arugula salad. All was excellent. The sea bass was cooked perfectly. Crisply pan fried with a just done interior. We loved it. The wine menu is a little sparse. I had the by the glass Zinfandel which was good. My wife did not enjoy her Sauvignon blanc, it was a bit vegetal (tomato and herbs) rather than citrus profile. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu."

  • "All food was amazing, outdoor seating ambiance is the best."

  • "Everytime we come to Temper Grill my husband and I have a pact that we must try a new dish with our usual dishes (steak bites, Mac n cheese and creamed corn). Also, the coffee is the best! The staff is pretty great too."

  • "Excellent excellent food! A bit pricey but the quality was definitely there and to be expected. Servers breath was kicking like a king full movie so that was a bit of a turnoff but that is all I found unsatisfying."

  • "Our food, service, etc were all fine. But people rave about this place as if it's the greatest place to dine in the area. The atmosphere, in my opinion, is bad; cheap and gaudy decor, cramped, and very cluttered. The multi-tenant shopping mall where it's located is awkward and their small space simply isn't suited for a 'fine-dining' restaurant. Again, the food was fine. But I've heard people say this is the best they've had, and by no mean do I agree with that. The only reason we tried was because of its hype, but for the price, taste, and atmosphere we'll be sticking with a Cafe' Navarre or Ruth's Chris for special occasions."

  • "The food was delicious. I recommend the lobster mac n cheese. It was a nice date night for me and my husband and really nice that it is a 21 and over only restaurant. The small size makes it feel very personal but it also made it a little distracting being so close to others and their conversations. I get the impression that they run out of things frequently which can be dissapointing. I like the topas atmosphere where you order smaller portions and share dishes, and its fun to try new things. Definitely A little pricey for a casual date but for a couple that wants to be a little bit more special for the evening it was a great choice. The servers were friendly and the booths were really comfortable."

  • "Kelly jaes in Goshen is way better in every way. This place is small, ugly, service was horrible (15 min to get our sodas) and while food is good, presentation was Soso. I just did not care for it at all and feel the ambiance and food at Kelly Jars in Goshen is way superior to this place."

  • "We had a good time, tried some new (to us) food and drinks. They were ready with my special requests, which I mentioned in my reservation. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and present when needed. I will definitely return and recommend."

  • "A fabulous independent culinary find......one of the top four South Bend/Michiana dining destinations. Every visit, every time always right on......never anything but wonderful."

  • "Great place to eat. Different but not too different. Amazing wine list and great staff. Lobster bites are incredible as well as the steak bites. House made white/red sangria is so delicious the only negative is that you cannot buy bottles to take home;~)"

  • "Best restaurant, in the South Bend area. Great variety, and every dish is always excellent. The chef is a sauce genius! The mini chimi's and pork bites are heavenly. Excellent wine and beer selections. The restaurant is smaller, and always busy (because of the awesome food) so be sure to make a reservation. It's also fun to set at the bar, and share tapas with friends. Nice outdoor seating also. I have never had a bad dish here!"

  • "Went to the Temper Grille for our Wedding Anniversary, and found it to be disappointing and pretentious. It was unreasonably expensive for a dinner that was no more than adequate. Although the food was good, it was certainly nothing exceptional. For the price/performance, we could get a much better dining experience at Sorin's."

  • "We had a delicious dinner. Great food! We got the chop salad, mini steak chimmies, Mac-n-cheese, and duck bites with truffles for dessert. They offer to stagger putting orders in so that the food will arrive at different times. However, our waitress forgot to order one of our dishes. So, we had three dishes come out fairly close together and had to remind her of the fourth, which took almost 20 more minutes. Also, my seat, unfortunately, was directly in the path of the sun streaming in from the front window. So, when it set I was blinded and had to shield my eyes. Our waitress finally recognized my discomfort and offered to move us to the bar. Overall, the food was delicious and we'll go back for more, just not at that table ;)"

  • "This was our first trip to Temper Grille - and what a delight. We shared only 4 items on the menu - but there were so many more that we wanted to try - so we will have to return. The food was excellent, the service was great - attentive without being overbearing while being patient with a new diner."

  • "This was our fourth visit to Temper Grille. My husband and I are moving away and we just had to visit here once more before we left. Service is always superb. The food is tapas style and is seriously amazing. They are not afraid to cook your steak to medium rare and they do so perfectly. We have hadany dishes on the menu and there's not one that I wouldn't highly recommend trying. We love supporting local restaurants and this one is the best in the Michiana area."

  • "Enjoy the smaller portions. Great for ordering several and sharing. Fish dishes are amazing."

  • "Everything was very good. However the spinach artichoke dip needs some work. (The grilled bread was good)"

  • "Love this restaurant! Take a group of friends and share the food. It is Tapas style so most of the food comes out already cut for sharing. The wine list is extensive, and they offer a variety of amber beers. I recommend the steak/pork/duck bites as an appetizer, chicken masala/lobster mac & cheese for entree's, and the truffles for desert. But nothing I've ordered there has ever been less than an 9."

  • "The food was awesome, the service excellent but it was a little hard to hear my date's conversation. We will be back!"

  • "We had a great 20th anniversary dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for. It was so nice to have a dining experience that lived up to our expectations. They actually deliver on their advertising promises. We can't wait to go back and share the experience with our friends too."

  • "We had reservations so getting a table was no problem. They threw us in this back room which was packed. Too many tables for such a small area. Kind of loud and very cramped back there. Felt like you were eating dinner with everyone in that room. Wait staff was pleasant. Started off a little rocky with her asking my date the same thing each time she came to the table. Food was excellent. We had the mini sammies, ahi, mashed potatoes, and chicken marsala. "

  • "I've been here a handful of times, and it has been well worth it every visit! It's definitely not kid-friendly (21 and over) and making a reservation is the way to go (which is easy via their online reservation method). Temper Grille is different from most other places in town and provides a fantastic dining experience. I will definitely be back again!"

  • "The food & beverage at Temper Grille are always consistently very good. Great place for a group of 4 to sample a wide variety of tastes. Reservations are required for prime time seating. Wait staff is very knowledgeable and efficient. "

  • "Cons: The two bottles of wine we chose were not great. The scallops were undercooked and the flatbread was luke warm then cold instantly. The occaision was special so the food was a bit of a let down. The service was prompt but disconnected from the customer. The concept was great and the atmosphere was small and peferct for my wife and I to have some time to ourselves. We'd go back but would hope for an improved dinner. Pros: The steak chimnies were awesome and the atmosphere was perfect for the two of us."

  • "Another great experience at Temper! The favorites never disappoint - Steak bites and macaronic and cheese with peppers. Tried for the first time spicy feta, which was excellent and also had the special of the day - Halibut the sauce on it was amazing and it was cooked perfectly!"

  • "I have been to Temper a number of times and it never disappoints! The service is always great with a knowledgeable staff, the wine list is well picked, and the food....the food is perfectly crafted. I brought a date here for her first time and she was wildly impressed with every dish that came out and the whole dining experience made for a very memorable date night. The half priced wine on Tuesday didn't hurt either! I highly suggest a reservation. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "It's nice to have a tapas option in the South Bend area, and the food here is good, with few exceptions. We loved the ceviche tacos and seared scallops. Stay away from the crabby cakes. Considering the quality, ambiance, and service, the prices here are too high. The entrance to the restaurant is awkwardly placed in the center of the dining room, so try to be seated away from the door. This place could be something special with just a few tweaks. "

  • "As always a success story. The ahi and the pork bites were scrumptious! Excellent microbrewery beer list. Brandi was tops as usual!"

  • "Everything was exceptional as usual, I actually ate at Temper Grille three (3) times this past week and could do it again. Variety is available, but seem to have my favorites. Enjoyable atmosphere and food was top notch "

  • "My husband and I have been going here for date night for a while. The unique combination of flavors and the artistic surroundings keeps us wanting more."
    Dined on 5/7/2014
  • "Although the food is very good, the service wasn't because she was also the bartender who was showing pictures from her cell phone to the customers in the bar area. I think that they could increase their wait staff since that seems to be a common problem there."

  • "My husband and I decided to go because we had gift certificates. We had never been and my husband was NOT excited, to say the least. He is more of steakhouse sort of person. He grumbled up until the food came. And then he lived it. The food was delicious. Absolutely delicious. And we ordered the truffles for dessert. Oh. My. Gosh. They were divine. Just get them. They are amazing!! He couldn't stop talking about them! Neither could I, for that matter! ;)"
