A word from TEI-AN
The stylish Japanese restaurant specializes in freshly made soba noodle dishes, served hot or cold in soups or with dipping sauces. The restaurant is owned by Teiichi Sakurai, well-known as the founder of Teppo and Tei Tei.
Soba is a thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheat flour – there are
…
only 5 in the country which prepares fresh noodle on the premises.
Owner and staff want for you to experience a touch of Tokyo in the middle of Dallas: "modern Tokyo" mixing rich wood, concrete, stone, steel and glass. The best seats in the house are at the dining room’s soba bar that wraps the stone garden.

Food at Tei-An is always delicious, but the music in the background was elevator jazz (not a fan). We recommend the kabocha pumkin as an appetizer and the hoto soba with mountain veggies. Very healthy and good to eat before a long opera.

"Not quite up to Expectations"Very beautiful entrance and building. Three other restaurants in alcove.Greeting at door great. But drawyer to menus on customer side of podium so you have to get out way.Menu impossible little scroll. Initially server seemed rushed, pushing us very quickly to the $50 tasting menu. This was a mistake. My advice to patrons, read the menu carefully, order what you like and don't be rushed.Visit the third floor patio, it's great. I'm going again, but will follow my own advice.

The staff went above and beyond to make my father's birthday a memorable one. The food and service were top-notch, as always. And the ambiance - the minimalist zen vibe - is both romantic and relaxing at the same time. Everything is the best. Including the skyline view from the rooftop bar, which we enjoyed after dinner. We will continue coming back to Tei-An again and again.

Specializing in soba noodles I thought was a bit on the expensive side. The hot soup base lack taste and the portions were very little. Maybe lunch would be a better deal.

The food was as authentic as you can get. Order the ramen if you get a chance because it certainly compares with that served in Japan.

Tei-An was an exquisite dining experience! The omekase was everything we had hoped, and more! From the white seaweed salad to the beef cooked quickly on a hot rock, to the tremendous drinks, Tei-An is an experience I will be talking about for many decades to come.

We loved the food and the service. The women on the staff are uniformly charming and helpful. The only slightly sour note was that the man at the front desk was rather surly. He didn't seem the least bit glad to see us, even though we had a reservation.
