"The service was slow and spotty. The salad was ok but the dressing was a bit overdone. The main course had an overabundance of garlic and oil which overpowered the flavor of the dish."

"First let me say I completely understand that this is a cooking school and the students prepare the meals so I wasn't expecting 5 course dining. The food was simply just passable. Nothing to rave about and I can't say I would go back."

"Today, Salty hashbrowns W/ SWEET lobster,fresh spring peas.The whole flavor texture combo worked well on my palatte. rabbit potpie huge and filling, far too big as a 'starter'.shortrib lusciouse-ness,tiny colored carrots. hazelnut crust halibut-grilled blue potatoes W/Asparagus. citrus curd tart, just the right finish for the meal.chocolate churros-these did not really fit into the rest of the menu. Wait person (Josh) did well, funny and fun. Place was really busy today. NOTE-no soap in the ladies room...("

"Overall, we had a very nice dining experience. We understand that there was construction going on in the building so the dusty air and noise in parts of the restaurant was understandable. Our waiter (Joe?) was very pleasant and accommodating. The only issue we had was that the steak I ordered was extremely tough - it was difficult to cut and almost impossible to eat. My dining partner agreed. I couldn't eat any of it. Our waiter was very apologetic but did not offer a substitution. The rest of the lunch experience was very enjoyable."

"I and my two eating companions enjoyed our visit to Technique but have some reservations about the food prep and plating. One companion found the pork he ordered to be dry. We all felt the chocolate souffle missed the mark completely. It was almost "cakey," or perhaps just curdled. Whatever, the consistency was all wrong.

As to the other courses, they were good but not outstanding and the plating has not yet reached the "professional" level for these particular students. But for $10, it was quite a bargain.

We also thoroughly enjoyed the staff, including the teacher who was present."

"It's important to note that Le Technique is part of Cordon Bleu, so it is staffed by students. This would not be a good choice if you have time constraints, because delays are a real possibility.
Fortunately, we had some time that afternoon, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Limited wine list, but some local favorites.
At this price, you can't go wrong; quality ingredients, and earnest wait staff.
We will be back."

"First time here and already have plans to return. The atmosphere was clean, open, and sophisticated. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Felt spoiled to have fresh bread and three soft butter options. Everything I ordered was cooked perfectly(mushroom carbonara starter, and chicken with carrots/potatoes entree). Loved the puff pastry dessert. $10 for a delicious three-course meal with white linens on a working girl's salary in downtown Portland is absolutely divine! Only downside was that it took more than the hour I am allotted for lunch, but now I know to plan a longer lunch hour when dining here. It is worth it!"

"A great dining experiance in Portland. I have been going here for years. Just ;earned the school will be ending the Dining Room course. If you want to dine here you need to eat here before June of 2012. Monday to Friday Lunch only."
