Technique, the restaurant located at Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts, is a student operated restaurant that offers contemporary cuisine prepared and served by the students of the school. Technique maintains a high level of dining matched in many fine establishments but at a reasonable price due to the learning environment. Your experience begins with a soup appetizer, followed by the main course which offers inspired combinations of spices, high quality ingredients, and layers of flavor.     I wish we would of found this place sooner. It's so sad that it no longer is in business and I always heard such great things from students who went there. My bus use to be filled with kids in their black and white checkered pants and now there are none. I am glad I got to experience lunch there and wish we could do it again! Good Luck to everyone!

    This is a fine program that I will be sad to see go. We only wish we stumbled upon it sooner. Food is always exceptional and service can vary. It is a class in training and some waitors/waitresses are better than others but it presents a nice learning opportunity for them. Our waitor this past time was nice enough but forgot a few things a overall knowledge of certain dishes weren't as good as previous wait staff.

    This was my second time lunching at Technique. The food is spectacular and would cost many times more for the same quality elsewhere. The student chefs are enthusiastic and proud of their creations. This time, I took a whole group of co-workers, who were equally impressed. Needless to say, we will be back as often as possible while the student-run restaurant is still operating.

    This was an incredible, delicious and beautifully presented three course meal for only $10. The onion soup had a superb broth and oodles of melty cheese. The salad was perfectly presented and lightly dressed. The mango intermezzo cleared our palates for the lovely large shrimp quesallidas and salmon with exquisite veggies deep fried roll. The tiramisu creme brûlée was the best I have ever eaten . We can't wait to bring our family with us so they can experience this incredible hidden gem downtown.

    If we lived in Pittsburgh my husband and I would have a standing reservation here. The young man serving bread was a delight, the woman making sure that our water glasses and coffee cups were never empty was very friendly, and our waiter was very quiet (not helpful) but maybe he was having an "off" day. What I wished I'd known was that you could bring your own wine.

    This was an increadible find. The culinary institute has created a little gem of which so many people are unaware. The service, food and experience were stellar and the student recipie soup was better than most commercial restaurants.     Second visit with 2 friends for their first visit. Loved it the first time and was not disappointed on second visit. Friends were impressed and will definitely return.     I lived in Pittsburgh 10 years and never knew Technique existed. Nice casual lunch, with future chefs working hard to impress future patrons. The food was tasty and great for the $. It is a bit awkward to walk through the culinary institute's cafeteria to get to the restaurant but that won't stop me for going back.

    I had lunch here for the first time today and was blown away by the quality of the food. Lunch menu includes appetizer, entree, and dessert for $12. I had the spicy crab roll, chianti braised short rib, and pumpkin cheesecake. I also tried the foccacia and feta/olive roll. Each dish was very flavorful and carefully prepared. Our waiter provided excellent and attentive service. I would absolutely recommend this place for lunch. We were in and out in an hour. You cannot beat the price here!

    I have now been here for lunch 6 times. Each time is a revelation - the food is superb and very creative. Realizing that the servers are students and decidedly NOT professional waiters, the awkwardness of service merely adds to the charm of the place.
