The "student" aspect was more evident in the service than the food. Well executed and in some cases really outstanding dishes. Great attitude but less skill on the service side. All in all an outstanding bargain.

This place is a real treat. It is inexpensive but you get the white table cloth treatment. You must book in advance so it takes a little planning but well worth it. The food is top notch cuisine

Technique is in a new location from when I was last there. Right in the Cordon Bleu School, it has a larger kitchen and spacious, sun-filled dining room. Every course was excellent. There were three of us and we each tried different selections and shared so we could sample everything. Fresh, savory, beautifully presented. Good wine list, if you so desire. At $13 for a three-course lunch, this is a true bargain.

Its very inexpensive sure the menu isn't huge but its enough for those who are picky. I enjoyed everything we ate. The students try their best to ensure that the guests are having a good time and the food is made to perfection. Can't get this anywhere else and I look forward to eating here more frequently.

I always enjoy the amazing food prepared by the students at Le Cordon Bleu. The new retaurant is lovely, very sharp. The food is wonderful as is the price. My daughter graduated form the culinary program at Le Cordon Bleu two years ago but I still I always make it one of my dining stops when I am in the Minneapolis area.

We always enjoy dining here and this time we brought new people who were impressed also. My husband was disappointed in his meatloaf but why he would order that when there was lamb on the menu is beyond me! We all commented that the room was very bright for evening but we didn't think to ask them to dim the lights. That would have made for better ambiance.

This was my first time here @ Technique but will definitely be going back. It is a culinary school so what you eat is prepared by the students. That said, what you get probably depends on what stage the students are at with their studies. Each of us had something different and for the most part it was all delicious. You must make reservations as they only have ten tables.

  • We ate at Cordon Bleu in 2011
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 6/13/2012
We ate at Cordon Bleu in 2011 at the old site and enjoyed it so much, we booked with you again for June 13, 2012 at the new site. It was a cold environment, chairs were uncomfortable, tables designed so my tall husband could not put his legs under it. The menu did not describe the food adequately. Waiter spilled drinks, watermelon soup was uneatable, "salad" really wasn't a salad, pork was too spicy, shrimp were good, spaghetti squash was delicious, chocolate/carmel dessert crust was rock hard. No coffee was offered, but came on request, no sugar was provided. Silverware came and went with no rhyme or reason. It was not an enjoyable experience at all, much to our disappointment...especially compared to last year. We will not return.

The menu could have been explained better and the waiter seemed a bit nervous, but very polite. It was pretty much dead in there, which was a bit awkward. The lighting was a bit harsh also. Not what I expected, but a cool experience and a great price. Coliflower soup was amazing!

Food and service were good, but Chef Pierre was not going to honor my Open Table certificate I had despite the fact he gave me his word in December. I had also called a few days before to confirm the full value of the certificate would be honored and again I was reassured it would. But, when the bill arrived, Chef Pierre argued with me for 5 minutes until finally honoring it for the full value. He may know how to cook, but he does not handle dealing with customers very well.

  • Technique: An exceptional value
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 5/31/2012
Technique is the restaurant within Le Cordon Bleu. It's a contemporary atmosphere with classic music and classy service. Dining at Technique is a tremendous value, with affordable, tasty dishes--and the opportunity to help train up-and-coming members of the restaurant industry. It's a blast to witness servers/hosts/chefs mature as they work in an actual, real-time dining environment. Our service was professional, our food (and dessert) was exceptional, and the evening was affordable. I highly recommend Technique--diners who visit are engaging in a learning experience, while supporting the industry, elevating it's talent and getting a good meal in the process.

This is not where you take a first date. This was an experience. All of the food was very good and inventive which we were expecting from a culinary school. Desserts were the weakest part of the meal. But, for the price which is ridiculously low the meal was very good. Menu was very limited altho they say that is changing. I wish they could provide more of a restaurant atmosphere instead of a cafeteria atmosphere. It would certainly heighten the experience. We will go back considering quanlity for the price.
