  • This trip to Le Cordon Bleu

This trip to Le Cordon Bleu was are third trip. We had taken my mother From (illinois) there for dinner the last time she was in town 4 years ago, and that is all she could talk about. So the first words out of her mouth was when I come to town this trip I want to go back to the Le Cordon Bleu for dinner, and again she enjoyed her trip to Le Cordon Bleu. She wanted to make sure that I let our server Isabelle know that she did a WONDERFUL JOB and she enjoyed her company. So all I can say if anyone wants a place to have a nice quite relaxing, good food, Great prices, my suggestion will be go try Le Cordon Bleu you will become hooked.

My boyfriend and I visited around Christmas, while the food was good it was nothing to jump up and down about. We were one of only two tables dinning so our service was wonderful and the price reasonable. It is a fun place to go for something different.

This was our second dinner at Technique. Overall the food was very good but a bit inconsistent. All four members of our party thought the appetizer/salad course was excellent. The Maryland crab cakes and the Caesar salad were most notable. The entrees varied from excellent (steak Diane) to just ok. The prosciutto was sliced too thick and was therefore rubbery. The desserts were excellent. As the servers are culinary students, not professional wait staff, you need to be tolerant. They are always very friendly and try hard so try to overlook their obvious lack of experience. At around $20 per person for a 3 course dinner it's a very good value and deserves a try.

Always great food, and motivated student-staff. I'm always encouraged by the up and coming students who are going through this culinary school and working their own restaurant on campus. It's out of the way in Summerlin, but worth the trip!

  • This is such a great deal
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 11/6/2012
This is such a great deal for dinner (3 courses for $18.95). If you've ever worked in a restaurant it's great fun to watch the behind the scenes action. On this visit the student chefs were on their last day before preparing for graduation. We love to support this teriffic restaurant. Reservations are suggested, however. They usually aren't too busy but they close frequently for private functions. It's fairly close to the Red Rock area, so if you're out that way, give them a try. I don't think you'll be diappointed. On this visit we tried: appetizers of beef carpacio and crab cakes. Entrees were pistacio crusted shimp with pasta, asparagus and alfredo sauce; and Fresh gnocci w/asparagus, parmesan and basil pesto. Just GO!

I think one has to keep in mind that this is a school when dining here. This goes for the service as well as the food - they are learning. The huge open kitchen is a great feature and lends to a serious food environment. Our appetizers and dessert were excellent, but the entree (veal) was below par. For the price ($18.95) for 3 courses, I would return to try other selections on the menu. The pastry chef came out after our dinner to see how we enjoyed the desserts, which we appreciated. Overall, it was a positive dining experience and we were with a good group, which always helps any restaurant experience.

In the past we always had lunch at Technique at Le Cordon Bleu, but this time we opted for dinner. Great experience. The menu is more diversified - world class meal. If you had a dinner like this down on the Strip, it would cost you 3 times more. We will go more often for dinner as there are several other entrees on the menu that we want to try.

We eat there rather often and usually their service is excellent but this last visit... The servers were little too eager to take away dishes while we were trying to enjoy our visit with friends and some small amount of food was still left on the plate(main course). Also, they brought out the entree while 3 out of 4 at the table were still eating the salad. We felt rushed to finish it up.

  • Technique at La Cordon Bleu Review
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 9/26/2012
My wife Donna and I had a wonderful lunch at Technique at Le Cordon Bleu - Las Vegas on September 26, 2012. Kay, our waitress who is a student, was very knowledgeable and helpful. When queried, she said on that day she had went to Le Cordon Bleu school from 6:00 to 10:00 AM, then worked as a waitress from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the restaurant, then was scheduled to work in the restaurant kitchen from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. She said the school was a one-year school. During their training the students must work all phases of working in and running a restaurant. A very enjoyable experience and we will be back with our friends. PS: One problem is the restaurant is on the North end of the school so you may miss it based on the address.

We chose Technique for dinner at the spur of the moment and had no trouble getting in. There were just a few other diners, which really suprised me considering the three course gourmet meals being offered. The Caesar salad was supurb- made to order dressing, fresh grated aged parmesan and garlic and olive oil flatbread as a base. The fish was wonderful- generous portion, well seasoned and cooked just to the second it was done. Dessert was great- housemade vanilla ice cream crowned with a plethora of seasonal berries. Servers were cheerful and helpful, always nearby but not intrusive. All in all, an exceptional dining experience.

I had 2 disappointments on this my first visit to Technique; First, there really is not a good vantage point to watch the students in the kitchen. Secondly, I requested decaf coffee, and was told they had none. I probably should have asked if that meant they were out of it, or do they not offer decaf. We took out of town guests, they were (as were we) pleasantly surprised with the great food, the wine list and of course the prices are very acceptable. Our student server was very good and very interesting to talk with about the school and her future plans. I will be going back with friends to try the lunch menu. One additional comment, their website needs to be updated, it has incorrect prices and showcases foods not on the menu
