we have not been here in over 10
years since we were first married and decided to return to our roots so to speak. We found that it was just as good and just as charming as it was back then! Food is wonderful and even though it was a little hot in there due to some fan issues they were having that night, we still had a fabulous time. Can't wait to go back again!"

The food and service was great!
The restaurant was very warm and muggy. I heard several customers complaining to each other how warm it was in there so it wasn't just me -- haha! The temperature made it a little hard to enjoy the spicy food. The noise level was a little too high for me. I felt like I had to talk loudly to the other 3 people I was dining with. However, I will go back -- I've dined outside before and found it to be an enjoyable experience. I'll request outside seating next time I go!"

ordered appetizers which waitress
forgot. Wanted to order the crispy duck but told they were out of it. Then tried to order a noodle dish and told they didn't have the right spices. we settled on a curry dish and a shrimp dish. The waitress brought the curry and cashew chicken because they were out of shrimp dish. Wow didnt even ask what we wanted instead. We said we didn't want that and ordered pad thai instead. we'd finished our curry before the pad thai arrived. When the bill came she had charged us for the cashew chicken which was more expensive that the pad thai. Management never came to see how our dinner was. What a disappointment! We will not be back."

Always a great place to recommend
for Thai cuisine. Wait staff was very friendly (a little inexperienced). Sushi andPad Thai was a. delicious. House wine was surprisingly good."

I came with a friend before a
play. I had heard so many great things about the place. Our server was attentive at the beginning but then abandoned us. Did no come back to see if we needed anything...did not come back to see if we wanted another drink or dessert. We had to have someone find him to get out check. We were running late to get parked for the play. Actually the young girl who was cleaning tables was very pleasant and the only one who was helpful. The food tasted very bland. We were very disappointed."

We wanted to get the sushi boat
for two and My wife had her eye on one roll so we asked if we could select that one, understanding we may have to pay more as the menu said for substituting a roll of our choice. We asked our server and she asked the chef. We were quite disappointed to hear that the chef refused our request. It must be nice to be in such high demand that you can operate with an ego like that and be unconcerned about losing guests. Everything else, however was fantastic. We both ordered different meals and enjoyed them very much. The space was beautiful, the staff was very pleasant, and the food was worth the prices. I suggest you go, but hope you like something on the menu exactly as the chefs mood allows it to be prepared."

I love a restaurant where you can
just count on good quality and service. I never wonder how our visit will be - it's always good."

Great dinner with
friends...awesome sushi and crab puffs!"

We had a waiter named Moses and he
was wonderful!!. They were great about clearing the tables and keeping the water glasses filled. They were really crowded and the food was great!!"

I made a reservation for my
husband and me to eat here at 7:15, and we did not get a table until 7:45. We were sat by a very loud group in a back corner where we could barely hear each other talk. Someone came up to fill our water glasses, but then we waited for about 15 minutes before our waitress came specifically to our table, even though she would stop by the other three tables around us. When she finally did come to our table we ordered drinks, appetizers, and food because we weren't sure when she would come back. My husband had to go to the hostess stand to get silverware. The sushi wasn't great, the wine was pretty awful, and the spicy chicken wasn't good enough to have us come back to this restaurant."
Dined on 3/8/2014
We went on a Friday evening and
the place was packed. We were SO glad that we had reservations. The server did her best but the "only 4 servers" couldn't keep up with the tables. The sushi was good but not good enough to wait the 40 minutes it took for us to get an order. If the wait hadn't have been that long, I would have order more. We ordered 2 different thai dishes at a "level 3" which was the lowest number we could use and both meals came out very spicy. My husband likes spicy and he said this was about a 6 and he wouldn't have wanted the dishes any spicier. I would recommend the restaurant but I won't go back on a Friday or Saturday night."
Dined on 3/7/2014
Our waiter John was an excellent
waiter. Went on a Friday night with reservations. Got our seats within 5-10 mins. Best to make a reservation during the weekend. Ordered the Teak Trio. Won't be disappointed with the food. The only recommendation I would make is music. Would prefer something within the culture, instead of pop music."
Dined on 3/7/2014
We always have good thai food here
and tonight's service was really good."

It was my boyfriend's birthday and
he loves Thai. I thought this would be a good choice. Whatever, then you "find" the alley entrance. Servers took us upstairs to an empty dining area. NO thai iced tea? How is that even possible? Our server asked me if I wanted someone to run out and get more half and half. I said yes. Don't offer unless you're prepared to do what you offer. Well she came back later and said they just didn't have the tea. How this could be at 7pm on a Saturday I have no idea. My boyfriend expressly wanted thai iced tea. My food came and it was wrong. He asked for extra peanut in his pad thai and was told they had no peanut. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? Food came WITH peanut. Server interrupted us about every 5 minutes."

With advance reservations, we were
seated in the bar area which was cold relative to the weather outside, rather than the restaurant main seating area . Food was ok, but not special. Our waiter was only adequate. I do not live in the area, so it has been several years since I have visited "Teak". This was a disappointment based on past memories, which in the past were quite good."
Dined on 2/27/2014
Had a great evening with friends,
the food was amazing (we all had sushi) and the service was fast."
Dined on 2/25/2014
I had not been to Teak in a number
of years so I didn't know if their sushi quality had changed, but I was pleased to enjoy 4 great-tasting rolls with fresh fish and flavorful toppings. The Miso soup was more so-so soup, but I didn't go there with my wife and two guests for the soup. If not for the sushi it would have been a disappointing evening. The young bartender was terrible. It was her first time and she was working alone. I basically mixed my own drink (Fuzzy Navel for my wife - she had no clue). She even grabbed the wrong beer (we ordered a Budweiser Select), and the name was right on the bottle...tough to miss. Our food server was also out-to-lunch for most of the evening, showing up to take our order and deliver it."

We often eat at the Teak before
going to the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Besides knowing that the food will be perfect, the wait staff is helpful at getting us served and out on time for the play. The sushi menu is vast and well done. We love the curries, and the Hot and Sour Salmon is a standby, always great! Having eaten Asian food in other markets, I wonder if we in Cincinnati take for granted this gem. Several different dining environments available. Outside dining in the temperate months is charming and quiet. Room for groups upstairs, bar scene downstairs, and reservations easily done on Open Table. Parking across the street in their lot, or along St. Gregory. This stays one of our top restaurants of any genre. Love it!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
For many years the Teak has been
one of our favorite restaurants. Our latest experience was a disappointment. The service was marginal and due to outside temperatures the room was very cold. We are hoping this was a one time incident. Not giving up yet."
Dined on 2/9/2014
My friend and I had dinner there
before taking in a play at Playhouse in the Park. The dining experience was good and the food was good. I would definitely patronize Teak again. I would also recommend it to my friends."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Our dinner was good but it was a
very cold evening and we were seated downstairs in front of a window which was very cold. The service was adequate after we asked the third waiter if he were our waiter. Our table may not have been assigned because those who came after us had drinks and served before us. We have had great meals and I love their outdoor dining in spring and summer."
Dined on 2/8/2014
I love the Teak Trio but I got a
level 3 and I thought it was really spicy. This place is consistently good. Bring a sweater in the cold months because it is in an old building."
Dined on 2/7/2014
We were all vegan and the staff
did a great job of explaining our food options."
Dined on 2/1/2014
I've been going to the Teak for
the last decade or more. Each time it's getting progressively worse. The ambiance has always been rather loud group atmosphere, but a rowdy "college kid" contingent has grown over the past few years and they seemed to have packed in more tables; making the place not very family or date friendly. This time the staff is very nice and friendly, but got our order wrong multiple times. We ordered sushi that never arrived and drinks that were different each time. The staff apologized but didn't do anything else to make up for the interruptions. Like I said, I'm a long time diner; but there are too many other good Thai/Sushi options in town to make them a regular place. I hope they read this and improve."

Great sushi! Seated immediately
due to inclimate weather. I enjoyed the shushi bar while sitting in a high seat at a tiny round table. Having a sore back I'd prefer a chair or booth. Regardless of my whimpering it's still a great place to take the old lady. Seating us displayed in the window as live manikins I really felt loved. Next time I'll where shorts. It was a cold snowy Friday, Cincinnati lights shining that you could only see from one spot in the front of the Teak. I sat at the closest table to the wall in front of the bar facing the mirror, up against the window. That's the seat!! I sure got lucky on my first trip. I'll be coming here more often. I'll be back!"

Wine was great along with the
sushi that we ordered. Very affordable. Love this place and will be back!"

Felicidad was our server; she and
the other servers did a wonderful job. The food was hot and delicious. Have already recommended Teak Thai to friends."
Dined on 1/4/2014
Took a couple there from out of
town. They are sushi lovers and not disappointed. However, several of us ordered our entrees at a "level 2" and it was almost difficult to eat. Spicy! For someone who does not particularly prefer spicy food, I was hoping ordering a level 2 was more on the mild side. Ouch! Great food, overall."
Dined on 1/4/2014
We were running a few minutes
behind because it is hard to find parking in Mt. Adams, but I called to let them know and they were very accommodating. We went on NYE, and the service was wonderful, the food was fantastic, and it wasn't too expensive. Great dining experience. It is a tad chilly upstairs on the small balcony part when the door opens, but not too bad at all."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We brought our 77 year old mom for
her birthday. The food was amazing but she wanted zero spice (unlike myself I go for a 7 when I am there. Unfortunately she received a very spicy meal and had to wait sometime for her zero-1 level of spice. it seems like a very important thing to get right from a place with a great food."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We were a little disappointed. We
liked the atmosphere but felt like it was just expensive fast thai food."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Very good service and positive
attitude from staff, good sushi, great meal. Will go back."
Dined on 12/27/2013
We went here for our anniversary.
The waitress was very rushed and asked several times for us to wait since we said we weren't in a hurry ( the first thing she asked when we sat down). I ordered a meal I hadn't had before at a level 4. It was much too spicy, to where I couldn't eat it. The waitress said she checked with the manager and there was nothing they would do and suggested I take it home and fry it with some bacon. I know it wasn't their fault, but I've been to restaurants not as nice and if someone isn't satisfied with their meal for whatever reason it's been replaced. Really disappointed that they weren't more concerned with making sure their guests were completely satisfied. I left hungry, not wanting to pay for another dinner."
Dined on 12/23/2013
We went to Teak before going to
the Playhouse for an 8pm performance. A 6pm reservation had us out of there in plenty of time to enjoy the pre-show talk. We had 2 appetizers, 2 cocktails, and 2 entrees for $50! We were seated at one of the little tables overlooking the entrance to the restaurant. Very private and quite romantic! We've been to Teak many times before, usually with a group or another couple. It's been quite a while since we'd been there and so glad we went back."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Upon arrival, escorted up a couple
flights of stairs to a small dining room that was hopping with activity. Not sure if there were only 2 servers, not enough runners, or what the deal was, but service was interminably slow. Took too long to just get our drink orders (which should be one of the first things that happen within 120 seconds of getting sat), Then the drinks took a long time to arrive, sushi menu had no pencil which made ordering take longer, crab puffs were lukewarm (could have been they were waiting on the sushi) - don't know. Just should not have taken as long for service to stop by and check on us. Made us feel like it was the overflow dining room - kind of an afterthought. Food was okay - service just below average."
Dined on 11/9/2013
While the dishes had excellent
flavor, they were served lukewarm. The soup was nearly cold and the mussels appetizer was way overcooked. I think however all this was a rare event because I have been there before and there wasn't any issue. The food is yummy. Also my husband doesn't eat carbs and the amount of veggies and meats filled him up - which is feat!"
Dined on 11/9/2013
We waited 70 minutes for our meals
to arrive. When they were finally served, two of the four meals were cold, the other two had just been cooked. Obviously, our server, (I believe his name was Kenny) who disappeared for quite a while, had only submitted two of the meals. Those sat getting cold while the others were prepared once we found him visiting at the hostess desk and said that we were still waiting to be served."
Dined on 11/9/2013
We were looking for a place to eat
before going to the playhouse. Teak is surprisingly large on the inside and could accommodate our last minute reservations. Every dish we ordered was excellent and the service was quick enough to get us out in time for the show. The weather wasn't bad so we even walked the 15 minutes to the playhouse. Highly recommended."
Dined on 11/2/2013
Wife had sushi and loved it, I
have pork fried rice with side of peanut sauce, and it was excellent as well. Will def go again."

Felicidad was our waitress. She
was very cordial and prompt. A great experience!"
