Diner Reviews
  • "Having a reservation means something here, we arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately not directed to the bar, service was excellent. We enjoyed cocktails while checking out the menu ...we were not rushed we ordered small dishes and shared tapas style, placing orders as we ate. After the apps we moved on to a variety of sushi, its was all fresh and tasty, the rolls were large and very well prepared. We finished up with coffee and desert, to tell you the truth everything was quite delicious. I'll be back."

  • "This is in a great location in downtown Red Bank. It is a lovely restaurant with an elegant, upscale feel in decor and service. I had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp which was good but not outstanding. The portion size was generous and I will definitely go back to try more of the items on the menu."

  • "I would rate the overall evening 4.5 but couldn't do it on the stars. This was our second time here. Loved it. Staff was friendly, and attentive. The food was interesting the Teak Roll, Forbidden Black roll will be a repeat. The seven spiced calamari salad was really really good. Atmosphere was casual, parking was easy."

  • "Once again, we were very, very pleased with the food at Teak. It's noisy, but, let's face it; the main reason we go to restaurants is for the food! The service was just a bit slow, but it was an incredibly busy summer evening and our waitress could not have tried harder! We can't wait to be in New Jersey and enjoy it again."

  • "The food was very good, the noise level very high and the service very slow. We arrived at 6pm and were seated promptly but our entrees didn't arrive until 7:20. I put them in a container, rushed them to our car, and hurried to make it the theater on time! Tell your waiter that you're going to the theater!!"

  • "We sat on the outside patio and while our food was excellent, the waitress put the order in wrong the first time around. Then, when our meals were properly delivered, I tried to place an order for a second drink, but she put the food down and ran off before I could. Subsequent attempts to get her attention failed. Then, we had to track her down for the check."

  • "I was looking for a good sushi place down the shore and Teak as recommended to me. I thought the atmosphere was fun for a saturday night out, but not too young or crazy. The food was very good. There were a lot of options and interesting dishes. There was also a variety of cocktails and other drinks. The service was good, can get picky and say they tried to take away our plates 3 times before we were finished which was annoying but no big deal. Overall I would definitely recommend Teak! Can't wait to go back to try more!"

  • "Recent Friday night dinner for two. Acoustics in crowded dining room were awful. Two-top tables very small and close together. Food was pretty good."

  • "The food was excellent - from the appetizers to the entrees, each dish was creatively prepared and very fresh. The drinks were excellent as well as the service. We sat in the open air part of the dining room and it was a perfect evening to enjoy the fresh air and yet be under cover. We will definitely return over the summer."

  • "Excellent restaurant in the heart of Red Bank near Count Basie theatre. Food was on the exotic side and very tasty. Our waitress was friendly, informative and great. The only draw back was parking. There parking lot which was small, was not maintained so any shopper could use it. It took a while to find a spot in the municipal parking lot. "

  • "The restaurant is small with a bar, the noise level is very high;Appetizers: French Onion Soup Dumplings, KFC, and Chicken Satay. The dumplings were good, although we wish the soup inside had more flavor. The KFC were good, but didn't resemble any Korean wings. (Like BonChon chicken). The chicken satay was mediocre; no flavor and the sauce was nothing more than thinned out peanut butter. The Teak burger was decent; but nothing special. The soy braised short ribs were promised to be very tender, and they weren't. We were expecting more flavor. The area that we sat in was near the sushi bar with a fryer. The smell of the fryer was very prominent, and took away from our enjoyment. The temperature in the restaurant was too low also."

  • "Been to this venue before and this trip was completing underwhelming. Took one hour to get our appetizers and was a fight to get a glass of water with the waiter blaming the busboy for us not getting our waters. The sushi did not taste fresh and our sangria took forever to make. At the end of all this the waiter did not even take something off the bill to make the experience a little more tolerable and perhaps convince us to come back..thumbs down."

  • "Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a great dinner after a movie. We had the Chilean Sea Bass and Red Snapper which were both outstanding. Service was quick and warm. The dining room at this time of night (9:30pm/Friday Night) was very loud,, the center of the room had large tables so everyone was yelling to be heard, so we had to shout to hear each other."

  • "Teak is one of my favorite restaurants that never fails to exceed my expectations. I strongly recommend the chicken and shrimp pad Thai, my personal favorite. Great ambiance and good for special occasions."

  • "Sushi was good but the fried rice was drenched in sauce. Fried shrimp greasy mayo sauce. Ambience was dead on a Saturday night. It was my bday celeb but they forgot. Didn't get a candle or a song lol"

  • "Cool place good vibe. A good bit of parking nearby, expect a couple of passes through the adjacent parking lots after 7 on weekends. The food was very good. The menu is very appealing and covers a lot of Asian cuisine. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The service was prompt."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful menu at Teak. There were some things I've never seen anywhere else like a black rice roll with fried sweet potato, banana and avocado. Really delicious. The menu is great and that makes it hard to choose my little group loved all the dishes we ordered."

  • "Way too loud, not even able to hear each other from across the table. Too many inconsiderate, probably too much to drink people that don't really care about anything else but being loud."

  • "The food and service were terrific. The sushi was perfectly prepared and very fresh. Our water glasses were never empty, the food arrived timely, and empty plates removed quickly. The only complaint was that if is very loud throughout the restaurant. We could barely hear each other but could hear other loud parties toi easily. Would definitely go back."

  • "Due to traffic we arrived late for our reservation. We had tickets to a show and were in a hurry and they were not able to accommodate us at the time we arrived. The restaurant was busy and we would like to try it at another time."

  • "My husband and I went to Teak on Valentines day. The service was good. The vibe was energetic. The foid was gray. We ended up ordering three appetizers to share and two sushi rolls. I would go back here in a heartbeat. Great place."

  • "Teak is usually a good choice for dinner before a show at the Count Basie Theater just down the street. We went last Thursday, and as usual, the food was quite good: tuna ceviche and a sushi roll had fresh and tasty fish; both the Triple Threat Ramen and the Sea Bass had interesting, nuanced flavors. But the service was terrible. (and the restaurant was only 2/3 full) We waited to order drinks. We waited to order dinner. When the sushi came, the server disappeared without giving us soy sauce or chopsticks. It took a full five minutes before we were able to flag down anybody to make our request. The same thing happened when I needed a spoon to eat my dessert."

  • "To us, their resting on their laurels. Although we had a wonderful server, food like rock shrimp. calamari salad, and their special pasta, were gummy and bland. Fair at best."
