The food was really really good.
We had a tuna appetizer and each had our own entree's. The whole meal was fantastic, which we were slightly surprised by since we didn't order off the sushi menu. Also the bar has this awesome fish tank behind it. Really cool!"

Considering it was Valentine's Day
when we went, the only negative was that the white table cloths were dirty when we arrived at our table. They even gave us a real pink rose upon paying our bill. Sea bass was amazing!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
As always, the food was
outstanding. The service was just OK this time. The waiting staff was very busy and were not as attentive as usual. Overall a great dining experience."
Dined on 2/8/2014
They keep the doors open and you
freeze while eating good. Rest are all good."

I've been at Teak numerous times
and the food and service was exceptional. I have never had issues with service before, but on this occasion the service was pretty bad. We would have to ask on numerous occasions for flatware, condiments, drinks, etc. Maybe it was an off night."
Dined on 1/16/2014
Went on a Monday nite NOT knowing
it was 1/2 price on almost everything ..great surprise ..will be back for Great food.."
Dined on 1/13/2014
After several visit to Teak my
only conclusion has to be this is a great place to take a date or meet a friend for some great Sushi!"
Dined on 1/9/2014
Great time and great food for this
Father (58) - Daughter (22) combination. Fantastically good night out."

I love the half priced nights at
Teak, they're an amazing deal, especially for Hoboken. Their sushi is great, good quality, and awesome value at half off. They don't have an exceptionally exotic selection of it, but still a solid selection. They serve edamame at the tables instead of bread, which I love. And their specialty cocktails are also a success. My only complaint is that they crank up the music so loud you lose a lot of ambiance. I understand they have a vibrant night life, but at least wait till around 10pm to get things cranked up, especially on a weeknight."
Dined on 12/19/2013
Waited for about 10 minutes for a
server. Fresh lipstick on both water glasses that wasn't mine. I've been going to this restaurant for years and, unfortunately, quality is on the decline."
Dined on 12/16/2013
the food here is excellent The
service is not. We were one of three occupied tables and waited for water, and then 45 minutes for the main courses. The waiter was pleasant enough but lackadaisical in his attitude. Th excuse for the long wait ws that " the kitchen is small" . a strange explanation since there were about 12 people in the whole place at the time(6:30 PM)."
Dined on 11/15/2013
The ambiance of the restaurant was
fun and unusual. My food was completely bland and actually tasteless. Not a place I would recommend."
Dined on 10/29/2013
We loved our food but the service
was a bit too slow. That's the only thing I would improve, the fact that we had to wait a lot for our food and both our entrees and our main course came at the same time. Despite that, we had a good time and the 50% off everything (except bottles of wine) deal is pretty good."
Dined on 10/22/2013
Teak on the Hudson provided the
perfect mix of music, food, and ambiance for my wife and I to enjoy and evening out celebrating our tenth anniversary. Outdoor seating is an option but with a view of the bus terminal. Seating inside has plenty of viewing distractions. The bar long fish tank and eclectic decor provided plenty of distraction from the usual dinner talk."
Dined on 10/20/2013
Service leaves something to be
desired (a little disorganized and the food is slow, but servers are friendly). $10 lunch specials are worth the price, regular lunch entrees are a bit overpriced based on the quality you can get in Hoboken elsewhere."
Dined on 9/27/2013
Service was not the best and it
looked like they were maybe a bit understaffed. We waited quite a long time for our food, but it was worth the wait. It was some of the best sushi I had in my life. Music was a bit too loud but overall a pretty good night."

i went here for my birthday, on a
saturday night, and i was expecting great food with great service and i didnt get that here. first off, the waiter never once said his name, welcomed us, nor had specials to tell us. we ordered our apps and dinner at once. we had burger bites.. no flavor, room temp, and there were only two. we had the chilean sea bass and a steak.. the steak was less than room temp as well as the mashed potatoes. the only good thing was the sea bass. my boyfriend finished eating before i did, i still had a little more to go, and a bus boy came and took his plate away... which makes it look awkward.. also the waiter never once checked on us through the whole night. overall, i never want to come back again. wasnt worth it"

Went on a thurs night w friends.
Food was average at best. Fish in rolls was chewy, sea bass way too salty and service was as bland as the lobster bisque. To top it all off, our bill came with a 20% tip on what the full amount would be. So bill was about 130 and the tip was 48. We refused to pay it and they fought us on it. Saying that's their policy. We wouldn't have minded paying tip on full amount but don't tell me i "have" to. Waitress had zero personality, didn't check on us (I sat twice for a while with and empty glass) and after my husband comaines, she threw the check at him. We will never go back again. This is not the first time we've had a bad experience there."
Dined on 8/30/2013
All the food was excellent. The
hummus platter is large and make sure you get the fortune cookie for dessert."
Dined on 8/18/2013
Although the food was very good,
the service was extremely poor and the prices are ridiculous. Really not worth it. There is no street parking in Hoboken so be prepared to spend another $30 to park your car. Overall, I would not do this again!"
Dined on 8/18/2013
I took my wife here for our
anniversary. The place is extremely nice. Was not crowded at all for a Saturday. The food is what ruined it for us. We had 2 sushi rolls, neither was good. I have had better sushi at a hibachi restaurant. I had the filet mignon. The steak was cooked as I had ordered, but it had no flavor. The mashed potatoes were also no good. My wife had the crispy red snapper which I thought was better than my filet, but she was not satisfied either. For the price, I expect a much better meal. I could have gone to morimoto and had much better for for a little bit more money."
Dined on 8/18/2013
Every time we eat here, without
fail, the service is slow as anything...the waitstaff blames the sushi bar being backed up or the bartenders being backed up. Took 25 minutes to get our champagne on our anniversary...and sushi took nearly an hour to come. Good thing we ordered appetizers. And it's a repeat experience. We hosted a dinner for 16 people there and it took nearly 4 hours...which is insane. That being said...the food is AMAZING. DELISH! It's the reason we go back. Teak balls, the yellowtail with jalapeno, the miso cod, etc. You can't go wrong for the view, the vibe and the food. Just be prepared and expect service on the slow side. Patience rules here, and your palate will be pleased!"

This place is the essence of
Hoboken, it is fun and vibrant with great decor....really nice and Thursdays have 50% off all drinks and food. Excellent deal. Miso sea bass is to die for...."
Dined on 7/26/2013
Best sushi in the area. Great
atmosphere and excellent service. However, please beware! Service and food decays significantly on Monday and Thursdays, when they offer 50% off menu."
Dined on 7/1/2013
The service was great, the drinks
were great. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the value of the Teak balls. They are $16 dollars for five bite sized morsels that are far from worth it. They are quite tasty though."
Dined on 5/31/2013
We went early on a Monday (6:30)
and it was great. It was quiet and the sushi was very good. The only thing I was surprised at was they included the 20% gratuity and there were only 3 of us! I would have tipped the waiter 20% anyway, because he was good, but what if he wasn't. There has to be some way to encourage good service and including gratuity isn't the way to do it. Left a bad taste in my mouth!"
Dined on 5/28/2013
Go for cocktails or wine--Teak's
wine list is quite good, but skip the food unless you're really hungry. Hot and sour soup was mediocre. Lobster and avocado egg rolls were tasteless, seafood paella was just okay, and sticky ribs were definitely sticky but lacking in flavor. Decor is fin, straight out of a fantasy novel--we dubbed it Asian-New Jersey rococo. Our waiter was attentive and helpful but food was slow coming out."
Dined on 5/19/2013
Although they have half price
dining on Monday and Thursday it doesn't mean the service has to suck. Knowing that a 20% gratuity is included with a group may be the cause for absolutely no motivation from our server...It is a good place to go with a group if you know thet it will take a lllloooonnngggg time."
Dined on 5/21/2013
I've only been to Teak twice, but
it's a great place to meet friends, catch up, and have a good meal. Overall the food is good and the service is great for such a busy spot. Monday and Thursday nights are "customer appreciation nights" and just about everything is half price. Great location in Hoboken, great atmosphere."
Dined on 5/16/2013
The food was delicious and the
drinks were too. We had dumplings, sushi, ribs, spring rolls, edamame...Everything was perfect. Our waiter was nice, and funny. Service was great and the food came out hot and fast. They even accommodated my rowdy 4 year old and my 11 month old. We went for my husbands birthday and he was very pleased. I already recommended the place to a friend for her husbands birthday. We will definitely return!"
Dined on 5/15/2013
The food was delicious, great
service, and an unbelievable atmosphere. Very contemporary design. Mondays and Thursdays are "customer appreciation days" which means 50% off! Overall a great experience."
Dined on 5/13/2013
I went here for my 18th birthday
on a Sunday and I loved it. The food was great, but I think they should have a wider variety on the menu. The service was a little slow because there were only 2 people working the floor, but other than that it was great/fun!"
Dined on 5/5/2013
Service was slow. Have us our bill
befor even getting out our last round of drinks. Really loud and crowded but the food is good."
Dined on 5/3/2013
My friends and I were there last
Thursday evening - the day of the water main breaks in Hoboken. They did call to confirm my reservation and made no mention of any disruptions in service or quality of the restaurant so we came. Our waiter was very kind, yet very dishevled. It took 30 minutes to receive any kind of libation, no water on the tables of course and yet we were asked to PAY for bottled water, as if giving one complimentary bottle was so out of the question? We also overheard our waiter at the next table say to his patrons that they were out of the "complimentary" edamame but that they could PURCHASE something to "munch on" while waiting for their food. Not a great first impression of Teak. Brightside, food was delicious."
