The view was nice, the food was minimial, you really fill up on the tea and the deserts. Otherwise, you would be very hungry, and, when you look at the price not sure it is worth the $. Look at your bill, they add GRATITUTY and then have a place for TIP. When I noted that the server came back quite angry. Guess they are not use to having someone notice and so not giving them DOUBLE TIP!!!!!!

One the one hand, a true High Tea experience is not what one would expect to encounter in Las Vegas. One the other hand, finding HIgh Tea at a Hong Kong based hotel chain anywhere in the world should hardly be a surprise. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel is an odd man out in Las Vegas because it lacks a casino. But it is right in the center of the strip and on the sourth end of the Crystals Mall right next to where we were staying at the Cosmopolitan. My daughter asked me if I could find a High Tea while we were in Las Vegas for a brief family vacation and I found the Tea Lounge. It is not a big space, so I strongly recommend reservations. On Saturday, people without reservations were being turned away. Three of us ordered two services and one extra plate. Our teas, the house tea and the artisan peach were beautiful. A beautiful and different way to spend an afternoon in Las Vegas.

I only had scones and tea so I can't review the tea service or any other items. The scones were lovely - flaky inside and crispy on the outside. The teapot was very generous, enough for 2 people to share. I was pleased to see that they offered a gong-fu ceremony service but be warned - you must have 3 people and must reserve 24 hours in advance. Their signature blend tea was not that impressive but the jasmine early grey was very good.

First of all, I was highly disappointed that they did not have us as "reserved" for 1 pm. We walked so far to learn that we are not on their reserved list. Thank goodness that they still has available seating. Second, I love the person who was servicing us. she is a very patient and very good in explaining to us our options in ordering. Third, the food was good. We ordered a la carte which I thought it would not be sufficient, but it was definitely enough for a light lunch fare. Last, it would have been heavenly if the hotel's lobby is not right next to it. I am going to take a limp that people go to these tea houses to get away from noise and have a zen moment. The chitter chatter in the lobby of Mandarin Hotel is just so distracting.

I treated my husband to their Traditional English Tea for two and at first he didn't think it would be enough, but in the end, the little plate offerings were quite filling. The tea selections were lovely and the scones and sandwiches were very tasty. The deviled eggs were rich and devilish indeed! And whoever mans their social media were spot on. Immediately after I tagged them on my Facebook as being there for his birthday, the hostess showed up with a delicious and light cupcake with a candle on top! It's not the most cost effective lunch, but the price was worth the kind and attentive treatment, the well prepared and tasty food as well as a bit of serenity from the loud and bustling of Las Vegas.

My sweetheart fell in love with 'afternoon tea' after our cruise last year so when I discovered this area locally, I just had to take her---our reservation didn't start on time, but the views alone from the 23rd floor certainly make up for it---the service was outstanding and our late afternoon tea was just great---not something you'd want to do everyday, but certainly a great change of pace

I brought my Mom to the tea lounge as a surprise. Booked about a month ahead & requested a window table. We had a lovely table for two right in front of the window. Our server was kind and attentive but unobtrusive. We loved the food and the tea! The food was unique and very delicious but not so frou frou that you don't know what you are eating. I'd go back in a second!

Food is always good, service has been better in the past, it seems to be losing its 5 star style, and I'm very disappointed that they hide your tip in the bill than presents the bill as if you have not tipped, but an 18 percent has already been added. I have attended this tea time several times, however I must admit that the quality and service has diminished. I hope that the Manderan hotel had not moved from the quality I have always enjoyed to the service level of a 4 star hotel that is so common.

The place is really a gem in Las Vegas, as long as I know the only tea lounge in that city. For those who ever entered any Mandarin Hotel in the world knon that you're entering a very special place, so at the Tea Lounge it wouldn't be different. The care with your senses, the choise of colours, the ambiance music, the quantity of servers walking around, you can notice that someone was taking care very carefully behind all those things. I would dedicate a special comment about Stephanie, the woman who served my girlfriend and I that for me symbolized the concept of MO Hotel: a very attentive person, discreet, knowledgeable and always with a smile on her face.

Going to the Tea Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental has become a yearly ritual for me. For the past (3) years every time I'm in Las Vegas I make every effort to take some time and go there and decompress. The atmosphere is relaxing and soothing. I made my reservation through OpenTable and requested a place in front of the large picture window overlooking Las Vegas BLVD. My request was granted and for the next hour or so I enjoyed the Classic English Afternoon Tea (I selected the Jasmine Earl Grey Tea with the delicious small sandwiches & pastries). The creamy deviled egg in a shell w/Paleta Iberico & Lavash was OUTSTANDING. I know there are other places in Las Vegas to have afternoon tea but in my opinion the Tea Lounge is the BEST.

the presentation was beautifully done and everything was delicious. the deviled eggs were amazing and are the most unusual thing i have been served at tea. there was a hazelnut chocolate pastry in the dessert selections that was out of this world delicious. the scones were served warm and fluffy, we actually asked for more (warning, we were so stuffed that it took awhile to walk ourselves out) :)

  • Tea for Two
    GoodEats
    Dined on 10/5/2014
It is very expensive for tea & the food in served very "high tea" style in small bites. The only problem is I did not like any of the menu items (too much mayo, 100% carbs and I typically avoid carbs, I just prefer organic clean eating. I indulge in desserts at times, but these really were not worth it. I enjoyed the tea service very much though, and would come again, but full next time. The service was attentive but the server did not understand her tea ingredients and got in a full on argument with me about them, to later learn I was correct and she was not. This was quite annoying. $100 for tea for two was ridiculous but it was a fun experience.

The only problem I have with this place is that it is adjacent to what looks like a check-in counter for hotel guests - it being a lounge, there are no walls separating the two, so you hear everything that goes on at that counter. Aside from that, however, this place is perfect. The tea was so delicate, the china was beautiful, the décor - gorgeous, the staff - very pleasant, the view - wide and beautiful. The food offered along with the afternoon English tea looks deceptively tiny, but once you start eating it, you'll soon find that it fills you up like a large meal would. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

The Tea lounge at the Mandarin Oriental is the place you want to go to get away from the frenzy of Las Vegas, if just for a little while. The different courses of the standard tea offering are painstakingly prepared, slightly whimsical, and delicious. There are a variety of teas offered, to suite every palate, and the warm flavors and aromas add to the serenity of the experience. This is a place we try to go whenever we are in Las Vegas.

I've been here several times now and it's a cool spot for high tea and a nice reprieve from the hustle bustle of the casinos. There is not a large selection of teas but the available choices are good. They forgot several of the important components of traditional high tea each time we visited and we had to ask for things like more hot water, jam for the scones, honey, sugar, milk for the tea, etc. I think the service for such a small room is consistently sub standard especially for a Mandarin property, but the view and overall experience is worth it.

I took my 80year old parents for afternoon tea to the Mandarin....and we all absolutely enjoyed our time there.....the service was truly outstanding particularly from a young girl called 'stephanie'..... Who I thought was absolutely wonderful... My only thing I would say is the positioning of the tea lounge.....whilst the lounge itself is lovely, you are very exposed to the hotels check in desk.....I feel it would be more special if it felt more private from the rest of the hotel.... Hope this is useful!
