We arrived for our dinner reservation at about 5:45 PM needing to leave at 7:30 PM for a concert. The restaurant was nearly empty at that point. Our waitress was very prompt in taking our drink and appetizer orders and in bringing them to us. However, she was VERY slow to take our orders for our main course, taking the order at about 6:30. By that time, the place was very busy and we didn't receive the food until 7:20 PM. It was very tasty, so it's a shame that we had to bolt it down. Also, one dish was supposed to have shiitake mushrooms in it and had nary a mushroom to be found. Since we had to leave in 10 minutes, we didn't send the dish back-though we did tell our waitress. The people at the table next to us had a similar experience.

I went for lunch for my mother's Birthday. There were 3 adults and one child( 2 and a half yr old). The food was excellent, great mimosas, and the waitress was so super friend;y. SHe even went out of her way to put the child's milk in a special cup and draw a picture on it for my neice. We had such a wonderful time and I would definitely go back. I would like to try it for drinks, but bruch was amazing!

We had a group of 6 on a Saturday night. We called all of our favorite go to places downtown and no one had room for us until 10pm. Finally, Tazza came up on a google search, they had a table for us, and an eccelectic menu. I knew evryone would be able to find something they would want to try. We started with some apps and were hooked at first bite! We knew we would be back already!!! The entrees were fantastic- lamb, pork chop over an apple pancetta perogie, veal oso buco... and the cheesecake was better than velvet! All around a wonderful experience from the food, service, decor, ambiance,valet and wine. Definitely a great find!

Cocktail: Vesuvio, and Orange blossom. Both very good, especially Vesuvio.
App: Roasted beets were good. Roasted bone marrow was VERY delicious.
Entree: Pappardelle was fresh, filling, and quite tasty. The grilled lamb was the only let down. It was by no means bad, but could have been better. The lamb was cooked medium rare as requested but was not the best cut overall. The slices were uneven (might be nitpicking here) and a few pieces were particularly grizzly. The sauce and butter on the lamb was decent but it could have packed a more powerful punch. The roasted radishes seemed to lack any seasoning whatsoever. The carrots were the best part of the dish but 1 of the 3 carrots was undercooked.
Cheesecake and Fruit tarte were both great.

Great place for innovative American cuisine served by knowledgeable, attentive staff. Noise level is pretty high, so it's not a place to have an intimate conversation. We went for a light dinner before the theater and found the small plates offerings perfect for the occasion. We also appreciated that the staff asked whether we were attending a show, and gave us menu guidance to make sure we'd be out on time.

Pros - Food was excellent, great entrees and a nice selection of small plates. - Good value for downtown dining. - Accomadating and friendly wait staff. - Relaxed atmosphere. Cons - Limited seating for large parties. - Some strange seating in the front. Very High, narrow seated, all metal chairs. Not meant for shorter people with larger posteriors. During cold weather that could also make for a chilly seat. - Nothing that deters from the great food.

We enjoyed the place pre theater as a foursome. The server was well educated [rare] as to the preparation of all the small plates which we loved. The server understood our time line and advised us accordingly.
We ordered almost all the small plates and ate family style followed by a salad for each of us. All items were well prepared and full flavored without being overly salted which seems to be the norm these days under the guise [seasoned] The pizza Margarita and the Tazza salad were not exciting but enjoyable enough. We will not hesitate to recommend to our friends. I look forward to coming again and try the dishes I missed out on.

This restaurant has excellent food, however, when you get there, it seems like you are at a bar versus a restaurant with great food. More of a casual environment, but the food is definitely comparable to more pricey, formal-type places. Great for a casual night out with really good food! The crowd is very young also! I am 40, but didn't mind!
