Tavolo is a moderately priced Italian BYOB in the heart of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania and has accommodations for one hundred forty guests with two levels of dining rooms and a private banquet rooms.

What We Do
Tavolo is a creative, casual, fine-dining, restaurant. Chef Augusto Jalon delights his guests with traditional rustic Italian dishes and homemade pastas.

    We have been to Tavolo's many times over the past four to five years. The food has always been excellent and the service used to be exceptional. However about a year or so ago they put a new system in place where you do not have an assigned waiter. I am used to restaurants with different staff serving the food but this is the waiters doing different functions for different tables. It has led to long delays between sitting down and ordering food, food getting served, ordering dessert as well as the wait for the check. The waiters themselves are as friendly and professional as they can be but the system is just not working. If they fix this problem my rating will increase for sure.

    This was our second visit -- looking forward to our third! Have decided to make it my mission to try everything on the menu -- food is wonderful, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is nice, too! Love it!

    Have heard of it for a while having the same owner of one of my favorite restaurants (Augusto's), but never tried it because of only also going to my favorite Italian restaurants that I know are amazing. The servers were very attentive - probably because it was not busy at all. The salads and muscles were decent, but the entrees left a little to be desired besides taking way too long to come out when it wasn't even crowded. The way the server described my dish sounded awesome, but was really let down when what came out was a bunch of mini dumplings with mashed up filling of chix, beef and pork - definitely not what I expected and it wasn't even hot. My wife's ravioli was cold as well. Sorry, but will not be going back..

    This was our first visit to Tavolo -- it was wonderful! The food, service, and atmosphere all combined for a great dining experience. Plan to return again and will spread the word -- just hope that doesn't mean I'll have a hard time getting a reservation!

    When service is a problem, it can really ruin an evening. We tried to get the attention of servers, but there were three of them, all seeming to disappear and not come back when you ask for something. They apparently shared the tables, so you didn't have just one waiter. Maybe it was just a bad night for them, but when you pay that much for dinner, you expect more.

    The staff was very friendly, engaging. and attentive. We were instantly comfortable in our surroundings. Our dinners were perfectly presented and they all were delicious. We could not ask for anything more than what we received. A wonderful dining experience. We will dine there again. Can't wait.

    The food at Tavolo is great. Our service was great. We didnt order any starters because already were given bread and we wanted to save room for our dinner, but the kitchen was nice enough to send out small salads while we waited for our meal. My only complaint is that more then a handful of dishes on the menu were not available. Considering we had an early reservation, it seemed strange that the waiter had to admit that they didnt have the ingredients for these dishes. I would go back for a special occasion because it is a little pricey.

    We have been coming to Tavolo's since 2010. We always enjoy the food and the service. We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner here and there aren't enough adjectives to describe the caring and professional service.

    I made reservations well in advance, and they ended up seating my fiance and me in what looked like an extra table by the door. We had to ask someone to take our order, as we did not have an assigned waiter. While everyone was very nice and courteous, I felt we got second rate service because of our location in the restaurant and perhaps others had a different experience. The soup tasted like it was canned. The food was average for the price. I don't think I would return.

    very cute restaurant but way too noisy. The food is only fair - very disappointing. Calamari was greasy although veal meatballs in red sauce were good. Panera has better onion soup. The fish we has was good and fresh, but suffered from processed tasting sauces that were heavily salted and accompanied by rice mixed with bright peas & carrots that looked like from a high school cafeteria. Not planning to go back - a huge disappointment.

    My husband and I have been here a few times before, and it was always great, but we had not been back for almost a year. We decided to go back and bring friends after telling them how good it was and our friends always loved going to Augustos in southampton, which is the owneer's other restaurant. The service was awful, we had to ask 4 times for bread, the waiter was not familiar (nor could he remember them) with any of the specials that night. The food was just average, my veal was tough and hard to cut. The Caprese salad appetizer was awful and only had 2 slices of tomato with 3 slices of mozzerella, and was expensive. The whole meal was expensive for quality and quantity, and the service do not equal what you get at any of the chain rest

    The food and service was excellent. My husband and I both had fish which was cooked to perfection. The decor is nice. We have been here before and were always seated in the back dining room. When we were seated in the front one, with a view we were excited at first. Unfortunately, because of the acoustics, we could hear the entire conversation at the next table and they were not that close and were not talking that loudly. That was a little distracting and it made you think twice before talking too much because I didn't want them listening to our conversation. Lovely little BYOB. Dessert was delicious too.

    I am recommending Tavolo to all of my friends and co-workers. I took my boyfriend their for his birthday. It was our first time at the restaurant, but will defintaly be back again. My boyfriend said their salmon was the best he ever had. The food and service was excellent.

    Tavolo has become my favorite restaurant over the past few years. I often wonder where I should go for various special occasions throughout the year and no matter how appealing center city Philadelphia is with its fancy, unique restaurants, I find my heart always wanting to return to Tavolo. If I could have a full order of each of the homemade pastas (with no intentions on finishing such a magnitude of delicious food), wrap them all to go, and could then look forward to eating a different variety each day for lunch, that would be my perfect week. I ate my leftover rigatoni and I found myself in a mixed state of euphoria and depression/panic that soon my dish would be over. Have I mentioned the mushroom polenta? Heaven. I WILL be returning!!

    It was a pleasure to come back to Tavolo Sunday night to celebrate my father's 96th birthday. My Open Table reservation afforded me an opportunity to notify the restaurant of the special occasion. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and had folded the napkins in the shape of birthday candles. As always, the food was wonderful and masterfully served. We all look forward to returning again.

    Our reservation was 8pm and we did not get any appetizer til 9:05. we were told by bus person that there was a wedding downstairs and that was the cause for delay. The actual restaurant was not full, so we could not understand such a delay in service. When we asked our waiter, he was very defensive and accused a member of my party for delaying the next course because he was still eating and as soon as he was done the dinner would be brought out. I get dining, but I don't get attitude from a service person at a highly priced restaurant. The food was fabulous, but would not return.

    A former favorite spot, we hadn't been for a while. Menu has changed. Our favorite pasta course is no longer served on weekends. Menu is not nearly as interesting. My lobster bisque had an puddle of oil on top, much less lobster meat than formerly. My skate was so tasteless that I didn't eat it. Had to ask a few times for certain items. Was served regular bread pudding then told when I was half done "oops, it's actually pumpkin, hope that's okay." Will most definitely not return.

    We had an EXCELLENT dinner at Tavolo, for an important evening (wife's birthday). From the greeting to my wife, to the attentive service, the people there made for a wonderful experience for my wife and our whole family. The calimari appetizer was good and fresh, and the entrees, from lamp chops to the Bass fish special with crabmeat, were perfectly-cooked and seasoned. Even when the first (surprise) dessert wasn't up to par, the waiter and maitre d' immediately suggested and brought out something else that was delicious. And the fact that the restaurant is a BYO, without a corkage fee, is an added plus! I would go back here in a minute!

    I have known Tavolo to possess all of the attributes that make a restaurant experience an excellent one. Not this time. One of our party had fish that she couldn't eat because it didn't taste fresh. After we'd finished and having mentioned this to the waiter, the manager appeared and claimed that he cannot control nor assume responsibility for the freshness of the fish. Not a professional response at all. The service was slow, and the waitstaff inattentive. I was asked If I wanted fresh pepper on my salad. I said yes. It never arrived. It was that type of evening. My last 2 visits in this past year have proven very disappointing.

    We went to Tavolo for my husband's birthday and really enjoyed our meal! There were so many fabulous menu choices, it was hard to decide! But our wonderful waiter, Dan, lead us down the right path with his recommendations! Dan's service was quite attentive and friendly and made our night an enjoyable one! We would certainly recommend this restaurant and our server and look forward to coming again soon!

    It has been over a year since we last dined at Tavolo. Food was tasty, although, overpriced for what the meal was, especially the salad pricing. Caesar salad was for what it consisted of, overpriced, as well as the caprese salad. This is the Philly suburbs, not center city, and the prices reflect center city. The salmon dish while good, was not memorable, and the veal dish was good, but again for what it consisted of, overpriced
