Tavolàta offers a full bar and a wine list featuring Italian and Pacific Northwest wines. Tavolàta serves dinner seven nights a week from 5pm to 11pm. • "Went here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and it was fabulous!! For as nice as it was, it was decently priced and we can't wait to go back :)"

  • "We were here for Restaurant Week. The celery soup with chard was amazing. Had the ragu on rigatoni, which was meaty "Italian mama" fare, and had mint leaves in the sauce which was a great subtle pick up. We also had the mackerel, which was simply flavored among spring vegetables (celery, onion, peas), a few mushrooms. I think my dining companion was hungry afterwards, but luckily the rigatoni was meaty and satisfying enough for the both of us. Dessert was fine (grapefruit sorbetto, & a vanilla sauce/lemon custard/rhubarb sauce combination which he thoroughly enjoyed). The only complaint I have was the noise level-- both my companion and I have softer, "crowd pitched" voices, so we had a hard time hearing each other. Otherwise, it was great!"

  • "A friend of mine took me to this place and said it was her favorite pasta joint in Vancouver, and I can see why. It's unpretencious, the pasta is rustic and flavorful, and the service is excellent. The plates are designed to share family style, so go with a few friends and order a couple of dishes. Ask for a wine recommendation (unless you're an Italian wine connoisseur). Their staff is knowledgeable and always made great recommendations. Try the burrata plate and the arugula salad to start. After that, any pasta and dessert will do."

  • "First time to downton Seattle....Loved the neighborhood! The restaurant exceeded all expectations! We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. We enjoyed squid and fennel first along with a half bottle of white wine. The sausage and rigatoni, as well as the spaghetti with anchovy for our main courses took us back to dinners at our grandmother's house. We regretted not ordering the zeppole for dessert...We saw a bowl of them being served at the next table. They looked heavenly... Thanks for the individual bags of pasta at the end of our meal. What a nice touch!"

  • "We had a reservation set for 8:15pm and got there at about 8:00pm. We knew we arrived early and decided to sit in the bar for a drink before our table was ready. I told the host that we'd be at the bar and he mentioned he'd come get us when our table was ready. I went back up to the host stand at 8:30 asking about our table and he said "it was still being set." That's what he said when we first arrived. He finally came to get us a 8:50pm. Luckily I was with great company, but that was her first time eating there. Not a great first impression. Although the food was really good."

  • "This restaurant went above and beyond, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service was exceptional!"

  • "I've been here once before and it was great. But this last experience was very bad. Even though we had a reservation for 8:30, we were told to wait in the bar and it ended up being over 40 minutes before we just gave in and ate there. The help mostly said that it wasn't their fault and blamed it on other guests not leaving soon enough, but that would be a problem common to all restaurants and I've never had to wait close to an hour for a reserved table before. Nothing was comped on the bill, and we told them we're in a rush to leave because of an arriving flight and they still took a while to handle payment. The food as always was delicious though."

  • "If you want great pasta go here! Amazing, melt in your mouth. We were blown away."

  • "Good service and nice ambiance however the food was less than inspiring. It seems the restaurant is perhaps catering to a corporate crowd who are just in and out and not repeat business or the young crowd who is looking for a nice bar/restaurant atmosphere but not very discerning about food. Very poor wines by the glass. Tavolata has a long way to go to compete with the new restaurants in town who offer sensational and interesting flavors in their appetizers/entrées."

  • "Came in for a early dinner after a matinee at the Ballet with my wife and 7 yr old daughter. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Great Cocktails and a nice wine list with a good variety (type and price). Excelent appetizers and pasta. We had Steak Tartar (excellent) and Brussel sprouts( excellent flavor, bit oily) as a starter and three pastas ; Gnocchi with Rabbit, Rigatoni with spicy sausage and spaghetti with a tomato basil sauce. All were wonderful, Gnocchi was a stand out but the Rigatoni and spaghetti were house made and wonderful. Bottom line, we will return."

  • "Tavolata is known for their pasta, but their Pork Chops are really a must try. . Service was excellent. I still think this is Ethan Stowell's best place."

  • "While in Seattle we were told we had to try Tavolata. It's a favorite spot for a couple we are friends with and decided to meet up for diner. I knew the dinner would be great, based on their experiences, but I didn't realize how amazing it would be. The pasta was so fresh and cooked perfectly...consider my mind blown! I wish I had Tavolata in my hometown because I would likely indulge once a week. Do yourself a favor and try the Bigoli, Gnocchi, Salumi Board, Pork Belly...well just try everything. I would suggest getting a couple different plates and sharing amongst friends because you won't want to settle on just one dish."

  • "Great overall. Only complaint was on a quiet night being seated RIGHT next to two other groups when it was fairly empty(late Monday night). Portions are small but flavor was big."

  • "Great happy hour at the bar section. Good drinks and bar food. The pork chops are not included in discounted bar food. They are delicious! We'll worth paying full price."

  • "We had high hopes and knew that we needed to try their fresh pasta. The pasta was very good but....the Maltagliata with Ragu, Bechamel, Pecorino was so salty as to be a challenge to eat. No flavor just heavy salt taste and after taste...very disappointing. The Pappardelle with Pancetta, Egg Yolk, Zucchini was not salty at all and we even found some zucchini hidden away. Good pasta but very poor sauces. Who would send out something that was so salty as to be unbearable...someone who did not care or could not be bothered to taste what was coming out of the kitchen. All in all very disappointing. There are only so many moments in life to enjoy great food to ever consider going back."

  • "I had never been to this restaurant before and picked it because of its great reviews. We got there and were seated right away and the ambiance was so nice. We all loved the food and the waitress was nice, I wish she was a little more helpful with the menu especially for a group that had never been there and was not familiar with all the Italian dishes. Non the less it was a great place we all enjoyed the meal and will return again. By the way the rabbit was incredible."

  • "Tavolata is great for small groups that want delicious food for a not-too-expensive price (granted if you want a main course that is not just pasta, it will be a little expensive). It's the kind of place where you can dress up and not feel out of place, or dress casually and not feel out of place either. Everyone that was in my group loved the atmosphere and the food, which made for a pleasant evening. The gnocchi alla romana was great. I haven't had gnocchi that well made before. Highly recommend!"

  • "Came here with a friend, one of her favorite restaurants in Seattle. Completely impressed. Pasta was excellent, service was excellent. Our server even recommended our next stop for the evening based on the drinks we were having with our dinner. Ambiance allows for strangers to meet and strike up a conversation, or a more private dinner along the side tables. Now one of my favorite restaurants. Will definitely be back, will definitely be bringing more friends."

  • "We went before the Sting and Paul Simon concert. The appetizer (bruschetta) was a huge hit as well as each of our pasta dishes (mangaliata and pappardelle). We split the entree- Branzino- and it was cooked perfectly. My only complaints- we felt very rushed, though we gave ourselves plenty of time before the show. Also, the vegetable under our fish was a bit sparse. Overall, the food and experience was wonderful!"

  • "I've eaten at a few Ethan Stowell restaurants (A&O, S&F, Rione XIII). So far, Tavolata is my favorite. Had dinner with 3 friends and was able to try several dishes. For appetizers, we had Bruschetta, Beef Tartare, Rigatoni, & Potato Gnocchi. The two pasta dishes were excellent. The others were ok, not great. For dinner, my friends all had the Branzino while I had the Duck. They enjoyed their fish and it was tasty. My Duck was excellent. For dessert, we tried the Brownie, Sorbet and Semifreddo. All were satisfying. We also had some great wine at a reasonable price point. All in all, we had a fun meal with attentive service."

  • "Interior is candlelit and cozy. Server had plenty of helpful suggestions for a family-style pasta tasting for four. He first steered us to a yummy, affordable Chianti, followed by baked gnocchi alla Romana - little pillows of cheesy tomatoey goodness, not at all the heavy potato gnocchi I've had elsewhere. Whole wheat bigoli was a new shape to all of us- thick, chewy (in a good way) spaghetti. Pappardelle with lobster, fennel and lemon was the favorite; the lemon and fennel could have been more pronounced, but there were nice pieces of lobster. Rigatoni with spicy sausage did not disappoint. For dessert, a single order of zeppole (essentially doughnut holes) was more than enough to share. We'll be back to try the meat entrees and sides."

  • "Really wanted to go to How to Cook a Wolf but they were booked up for the weekend. So we decided to try a different Ethan Stowell joint. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing our server was knowledgeable and was able to recommend food and wine and we enjoyed it all. Also love the little take away fresh pasta pack that is given at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back."

  • "Truffles were on a one night special and I added them to a dish with the Chef's recommendation. The dish was delish, but I am not sure the truffles actually stood out. Regardless, it was nice to see the communication between the knowledgable server and the chef and his team. Two thumbs up! Definitely will return."

  • "My husband and I have frequented a number of Ethan Stowell restaurant's in the Seattle area and we're continuing to check them off the list. The Italian influence of the food at this restaurant is what made me decided to make reservations here. The food was delicious, as usual and we had some really great wines to pair with our meal. The noise level was a little loud for our romantic night out, but that didn't bother us too much. The service was prompt and friendly as I would expect it to be. Overall it was a very nice dinner, but only something we splurge on for special occassions."

  • "I've always liked Tavolata and still do, but some nights it seems that the kitchen is awfully slow getting orders out. The food is always worth the wait, but if you have somewhere to be after dinner, you might want to allow extra time or find a different restaurant."

  • "Wonderful experience here for my Valentine's dinner with my boyfriend. They were out of the steak which was sad, but the pork chop more than made up for it. The rigatoni was delicious and so was the wine! Great list with a variety of choices by the bottle and glass. Service was great and the restaurant was upbeat and energetic. Everything was great and I'll definitely be back very soon!!"

  • "We had dinner here recently for a weekday birthday celebration, and the food was delicious. I am vegetarian, so the options for appetizers were very limited, but the entrees we ordered were very tasty. We instead had desserts which were equally amazing (I never eat dessert too). Will definitely go back :)"

  • "As other restaurants from chef Ethan, this is a nice choice that combines good food with trendy architecture. The pasta was al dente and not spicy."

  • "After looking at several of Ethan Stowell's restaurants, I chose Tavolata because it was suited best for vegetarians and a larger group. The food was amazing - we got some starters to share (octopus & burratta was delicious!) and individual pasta dishes. Staff was a delight! Lighting was comforting. Definitely check it out!"

  • "Had a party of 7, and called to see if we could get our own table, instead of sitting at the communal table. They were happy to accommodate our request. When we arrived, we had to wait about 15 minutes for our reservation - not a big deal, but the kitchen sent us a nice meat tray after we sat down, as a gift for our wait. We all ordered pasta, and everyone loved theirs. Wine was expensive, but we liked our choice. Great service and excellent food!"

  • "Our waiter, Adam (I think) made it so much fun. My friend thought he looked like Sean Penn and I said, no, Patrick Dempsey - I'm sure we made his night. He said we were the most fun he had that night! But he was awesome not only in his service, but his attentiveness and genuine concern that we were enjoying ourselves. The pork belly appetizer was delicious as was my butternut squash ravioli. Very good cocktails, wine list a little limited. I've been to three Ethan Stowell's restaurants now and will make it to all of them eventually! The ones I've been to have all been wonderful neighborhood gems. So far though, my favorite is How to Cook a Wolf. Love that place. Can't wait to try out Mrkt!"

  • "This place is not fancy, but still very nice. The portions are big and you feel like you've gotten a great italian meal for a reasonable price. The service is always friendly and prompt, even when they're busy. Happy hour deals, but only in the bar area, are hard to beat."

  • "I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant but it's my least favorite restaurant of his. Service was slow especially trying to get drinks from the bar. Brussel sprouts were yummy & the meat board was just ok. They should give each table the baguette gratis as it's only half a loaf to begin with and you're paying enough for a meal there. It's not like it's the most amazing bread and olive oil you've ever had. We ordered 2 pasta dishes which were yummy, but the 2 entrees were not. We had the Porchetta which was moist but lacking in flavor & the sea bass which was just mediocre. They should offer to assist you in taking the fish apart (it's served whole) or serve it in a way that allows the customer to enjoy it right away. We won't be back."

  • "I studied abroad in Italy and became a bit of a pasta snob. However, this exceeded my bar. I had the Maltagliata, which was extraordinary. My friend had the gnocchi, and I would not recommend that. My other friend had the rigatoni and it was also excellent. For appetizers, we had the chick peas (very good), beets (just ok), and octopus (not good). For dessert, we had the donuts and I thought they were just average. We got two bottles of the La Valentina Montepulciano and it was excellent, and only $34! Overall, I very much enjoyed the meal. It was quite loud though."
