  • "The place was hoppin, the service was solid & food/drinlks very good. It was loud & lively in the bar area where we sat. Our waitress gave great recoomendations, she was just hard to hear at times. When we declined to choose a dessert because we were full, our waitress picked & brought us one since we were there celebrating my husband's birthday. Seems fun for a couple or small group, I'd recommend to friends!"

  • "We had a 6:00 reservation on a Friday night. We told the waitress we were celebrating my boyfriends birthday. We were the only table filled in the restaurant. 10 minutes after being seated, they sat a table of 6 right next to us. I mean right on top of us. When i asked to be moved the hostess said she couldn't move us because the other tables had reservations. What? It's a huge restaurant and we were now one of two tables in the entire place. We moved anyway. The manager came by a few minutes later and asked if everything was ok. I don't think he even realized we what we just went through...there are lots of resturants in this area so I recommend you spend your money somewhere else. The food was good but most of the dishes tasted the same."

  • "I am always hesitant of tapas restaurants because it can be expensive for very little food, which obviously is the point of tapas. However, the portions were sizeable and very delicious. We loved everything we ordered, especially the Roasted Eggplant and Pepper Crostini. However, we would most likely not order the mussels again."

In any case, the food was great, and with his attentive service, the dinner was superb. I will definitely go back visit again."

  • "This is a good place for shared plates with a group of people. Most of our dishes were excellent and I plan to visit the restaurant again with a group. Since this place boasts small plates, I don't recommend it for a date night unless you are going with another couple. The service was also very good and the price was reasonable for what you get."

  • "Tavernita is a block and a half from home and definitely a great neighborhood option. Food and ambiance are terrific. The noise level was really my only complaint. It keeps intimate conversation out of the question which means this is not a good spot for romance. I also had trouble communicating with the waiter. (I'm 30 by the way - not 65!)"

  • "My girlfriends and I went here on a Thursday at 6pm. I had made a reservation on open table a few days prior however, we wouldn't have had an issue getting a table as it wasn't busy at all. We ordered small dishes to pass, cheeseburger sliders, flatbreads, and the gnocchi which was out of this world. Booty Collins was the go-to drink. Fun ambiance, just wish it would have been a bit more lively for a Thursday night."

  • "The quality of our food was excellent, and the service was great, but I wouldn't recommend Tavernita unless someone was coming with a large group. My date and I were crammed in between tables with very little room, and the menu was kind of difficult to agree on. The dishes were unusual and unconventional, but because nearly everything on the menu was small plates, we felt obligated to share. I ended up enjoying most of what we ordered, but we studied the menu for nearly 20 minutes."

  • "We were seated promptly at our reservation time on Sat. nite. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with great music. Our group ate from the Restaurant Week Menu. We started with eggplant crostini and whipped ricotta spread, which were both delicious. We followed with charred fennel salad and Parmesan gnocchi which also very good. Not to be missed is the extra side we ordered --corn with limi aioli and cotija cheese. We were over the moon with the incredible blend of flavors. The shared scallop entree was also terrific, with the exception of the squash purée that reminded us of baby food. Our only complaint was the rapid-fire service of the Bites, Spreads and Small Plates. They came practically all at once, making us feel rushed."

Food was delicious and we got to try many more dishes than we normally would have if it wasn't restaurant week. Dishes were small but we left satisfied. We each had two cocktails that were also great. I would definitely recommend Tavernita!"

  • "We arrived early for an 8:15 reservation and sat at the bar. Drinks were delightful and my wife tried the house made soda. Booty Collins drink is a must try. We were seated on time and chose from the tasting menu which, while a bargain, didn't blow our socks off. Some food was too salty, the crostino was soggy and generally it didn't impress. The charred fennel salad, the bacon wrapped dates and the scallops were excellent."

  • "The food was just subpar for the price. Way better food in Chicago than here. Duck crostini had an inedible amount of ricotta cheese which overpowered the entire dish, the gnocchi was like heavy mac and cheese, and the scallops were just okay. Dessert was three shots of mousse that were just really not that good, I don't what else to say, just something I feel like no one would order. Oh yeah, I had a $25 dollar gift card to this restaurant, but unfortunately I could not use it because they are not valid on Friday's and Saturday's. Sweet. I really want to go back and use it now after this awesome experience."

  • "Being Valentine's there was a prix fixe menu which was $50 a person. This was a good deal. We received a dish from the raw bar (very good ceviche), two appetizers a person, a small plate (which in our case was a Granny Smith Apple Salad), an entree' (a vegetarian ravioli), a desert and a cocktail for this amount. Our server supplied us with an extra desert. We were satisfied and not overly full. Everything was fresh and well made. Cocktails were very good. The decor and ambiance was chic and romantic. Music was upbeat, but not too loud for conversation. The crowd was young. Service was very good. We were not rushed and did not have to wait for anything for a prolonged period. I would be happy to go back."

  • "Was there for valentines dinner, it was a fixed menu. The choices were ok, portions too small. I always appreciated smaller portions in nicer restaurants but that night it gel I like I was eating leftovers! Everyone around the table felt the same and we snacked on crackers that they gave us with the ceviche. Before the last dish we were all still hungry so I offered to pay for more food but our waitress was amazing and she increased the portions. Needless to say I left her a chunky tip."
