Diner Reviews
  • "Our server was given two other large tables, had to wait to have our order taken and he never returned. No refills on drinks, no asking how our lunch was and no acknowledgement of the birthday for my guest. My chicken breast sandwich was actually minced, diced chicken used for topping a pizza and was terrible. Since our server never came back I could not find anyone to talk to. Worst experience I have had there."

  • "Go here for creative pizza with thin crust and a different menu than you'll see in most places. Service is good with a nice selection of moderately priced wines by the glass. The cocktails are unique and so are the beers. My only compliantly is that it's very noisy even on a weeknight and parking is problematic even though it's located in a decent sized shopping center. Concrete floors and a full house make conversation impossible. But, it's worth it for some very good pizza and appetizers"

  • "We dined at Taverna Rossa on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a surprisingly great meal. There was a snafu with our artichoke appetizer (not cooked enough) and it was removed from our bill. Our waitress was excellent. Go see for yourself and you will be delighted!"

  • "Good food and friendly staff, but it was a little noisy even on the patio. View of the fountain was nice."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit and I'm sure it won't be our last. Everything we ordered was delish!"

  • "The pizza and beer selection here is wonderful. Pizza is crisp and tasty, while the beer is locally brewed...sit at the bar for fabulous service. Ask for Sarah!"

  • "Great Pizza with a thin crust! Sourced locally, the fresh ingredients and the high quality meats that are used provided one of the best tasting pizza's we have ever had. The baked chocolate chip cookie (nice and gooey), topped with your choice of Vanilla or Henry's homemade cinnamon ice cream was EXCEPTIONAL -- don't leave without trying one -- which was large enough to share!"

  • "Traverna Rossa is a rare find. The menu is unique and the food absolutely tasty! The decor warm and comfortable, the ambiance is casual. Great selection of beers and cocktails. Try the queso or jar spreads for an appetizer. My favorite entree is the smoky pie pizza!"

  • "Large selection of craft beers from the DFW area plus gourmet thin crust pizza (replete with ingredients from local sources) at reasonable, down to earth prices - what's not to like? The service was prompt and friendly, the food delicious, and the pizza selections creative. I will be back again (soon) and would recommend it to anyone interested in an excellent casual dining experience."

  • "The answer is yes!!! Had the Margherita, it was fabulous...another must try is the Rossa Mule. Amazing! Cool place to chill and drink!"

  • "We went on a Wednesday night @ 8:30 and the place was pretty busy. There was live music, which was nice. If you aren't in to different types of music, you may want to check to see what style is playing before going. Otherwise, just go and enjoy whatever is there. The cocktails were well made (I recommend their Mule). Lots of beer on tap to chose from. The pizza was great as well (I got The Smokey, tasty). We were a little surprised at the end cost. $130 for 2 of us... 3 drinks, appetizer, small salad, and a pizza. We will go again, so clearly worth it, just be prepared. You aren't getting Little Cesears and a Bud Light, and your bill will reflect the difference. Your stomach will also appreciate it."

  • "I live 4 miles from Taverna and didn't even know it was here! I am a pizza and beer enthusiast so once I found it I needed to try it. There are many great craft pizza places in Plano so I was pleasantly surprised that this one was really excellent as well. The Hunter was loaded with meat and toppings - yet the crust was crisp and cracker like. We also had the roasted artichoke and the stuffed mushrooms - both delicious. And the cookie dessert - was the perfect bite with Henry's cinnamon ice cream. The staff was super friendly and offered great suggestions. Excellent beer, wine and cocktail list as well. Only complaint was place was really loud - but what restaurant in DFW isn't. Great place - will be back"

  • "This was my 2nd time dining, and what a difference making a reservation made! The first time we had to wait for a table, and were seated on the patio right next to a very noisy private party. This time I decided to play it safe, and made a reservation. The hosts were so nice and friendly, and even though we arrived early, they had a table for us in minutes. Our server was awesome - I even remember thinking I needed more water at one point and she literally appeared right as I said it. We started with the goat cheese stuffed mushrooms, which were flavored perfectly and even had a nice little kick to them. I had the sausage and meatball rigatoni and my dad had the tx lasagna with brisket, which were both awesome! Can't wait to go back soon!"

  • "Found this place by chance! Awesome selection of draft beers, pizza is stellar...So if pizza is in your wheelhouse...check this place out. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "We are big Cadillac Pizza Pub fans, so decided to give Taverna Rossa a try. Food is the same...very good. Service is great. The set up for music here is kind of weird.....the place is long and narrow, so if you do not have a seat right in the middle, you cannot see or hear the band. I guess the folks here go to Taverna more for the food than the music, where we go to Caddy mostly for the music, with the food being a bonus. Will try it again when they open up the outdoor area....that should be great"

  • "We took advantage of their Pre-Valentine's day special and enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much! Wait staff are all friendly and helpful. This is a great place to go for a romantic dinner or to have a drink with friends. Pizza is outstanding and their Farmhouse salad and special dressing are the best!"

  • "Table of six received excellent service and food. Owner stopped at table and spent time talking with us about where food comes from and ways to order pizzas so we could try the greatest variety of options. We ordered two pizzas, each having 1/2 with different toppings. The server was awesome. He made great suggestions for beers, entries, and deserts. The goat cheese mushroom appetizer is as good as I hoped it would be. The singer/song writer was on a stage very close to the booth we were at. The musician added the perfect amount of energy. We enjoyed his voice, song selection and ukellele playing and our own conversation at the same time! We will return."

  • "Taverna Rossa is from the same folks that conceived the wonderful Cadillac Pizza in McKinney Square. Here, at Taverna Rossa, you get essentially the same menu and great service, a similar ambiance, and good music without quite as much of a tightly packed crowd. Taverna's building footprint has more segmented areas, so you can find a place that suits you. There's the front bar area, a middle seating area across from a small stage, a sexy back bar, and a long "rec-room" with a fireplace along the side. Prices are in-line with Cadillac (which I consider "moderate") My part of two had a pizza supreme, three craft beers and two glasses of wine with a total tab under $60."

  • "Family brunch. Was quiet and food was outstanding. I'm sure it gets active in the evenings, but lunchtime was perfect for a family with small children. Service was superb and waitress was knowledgeable."

  • "My husband and I went here recently for a much needed date night. We loved it! They had live music playing but it wasn't too loud to still have a conversation. The food was wonderful. I especially loved the warm chocolate chip cookie. My husband loved trying all of the different beers. It was a perfect casual date with wonderful food. We will definitely go back!"

  • "We attempted to eat here months ago when they were still under construction - finally heard that they were open and came by over the weekend. Had such a great meal, we brought some friends tonight. Great salads and pizza. Good selection of wines to fit every budget. Large selection of beer!"

  • "One of the best pizza's in Plano. Great selection of unique custom pies. My only personal wish is that they had a few more veggie options. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing as many local ingredients as possible, and it has the flavors to prove it. We'll definitely be back."

  • "I found this spot by accident when driving through the parking lot looking for a parking space for Mi Cocina! The moment you walk in you notice the atmosphere. Fun, upbeat, and the smell of the pizza's cooking in the oven! There are several choices for seating, at the bar, booths, stand alone tables that may be joined together for larger groups, and another bar like area that faces their live music stage. Service was quick and helpful. The menu well laid out and descriptions have all proven to be spot on. Be sure to try the artichoke appetiser , 3 jar spread, brisket lasagna, mac and cheese ( add chicken ) and ANY of their pizza's! I have been back 5 times in less than a month! Use Open Table for rezo on busy nights!"

  • "They do their best to use only local ingredients, which I appreciate. They also have a really friendly wait staff (the hosts, maybe not so much) but it's an overall great place. Nice beer selection, unique food combinations and the bar area is especially nice when it's warm enough to open those window doors."

  • "Our first visit. Great dinner - we loved the meat & cheese board. Wish the pizza would have been delayed while we finished our appetizer. Other than that, it was a great experience. We will be back."

  • "I appreciate the fact that we were able to make a reservation for 8, and were seated right way upon arrival. Our server did not try to rush us through dinner at all. He was honest in his menu recommendations when asked about certain items. The pizza was good but I wouldn't go there for the pizza per se. I think it's a fun place for groups and for music but if I wanted to satisfy a craving for pizza, I would go to a real pizzeria! A bit on the pricey side for what you get, as well...."

  • "If you're looking for a great thin crust pizza in a nice casual setting then this the place. We also had the wedge salad which was excellent and only $5.00! Good wine list and a fun atmosphere. They have live music on the weekends and a great outdoor patio (weather permitting). We highly recommend this place and have been there several times since it opened a couple of months ago!"

  • "We went to Taverna for the first time last night and loved it! The food was excellent and the restaurant was very lively. They have a ton of local beers on draft and had a great selection. On the weekends they have live music so that was fun too! We had the dip trio which was super yummy and tried out their pizzas. Everything was excellent and we will definitely be coming back!"
