My recent visit was my second time dining at this establishment. The first time, I was visiting for a co-worker's 50th birthday with a group of about 12 people. We had to wait a WHILE for anything we needed, whether it was a refill or our food/appetizers, but the atmosphere was fun and energetic. I recently took my boyfriend there for his birthday, and it was a lot more laid back (except the music was still so loud we had to shout at each other). The food did come a lot quicker this time. My biggest complaint is that they would not allow me to use a gift certificate that I had purchased from Half Off Depot. I asked to speak to the manager, and he kept arguing that it was a "coupon" and I couldn't use it. I left VERY angry!!

Greek food has always been somewhat one dimensional. There was lots of it however. Too much hummus ( 2 kinds, too much cucumber; kabobs excellent;; kind of expensive for what it was. though.

Saturday night at Plaka Taverna was not a good time to be there for the nice Greek meal experience we sought. It seemed to work fine for the young people there who didn't mind the extra loud music and the din of noise. What was not the best experience for me and friends appeared to be what the energetic regulars were seeking. We had to remind the waiter to bring our ordered wine, and after asking several times about our entrees, received them over an hour after ordering. Just shows that one should be more familiar with destination before committing. Tuesday or Wednesday nights would probably have been a totally different and better experience.

Like being at a Very Loud Greek wedding... Music, Dancing, Drinking in large groups. Go for that atmosphere and you will not be disappointed... Do not visit on a Friday night expecting a quiet conversation place. Very much as advertized on their website. It's a party place and Everyone is in on the party!
