Tavern58 offers a selection of dishes that stand out for uniqueness and high quality preparation. The details are obviously important for this chef and it pays off. A chili drizzle with the amazingly fresh spring rolls, the perfect maple crust on the salmon, bleu cheese au gratin with subtlety where potency could have overwhelmed. The service is equally as detailed in the understated attentiveness. Overall, a hidden gem!

Wife and I decided to go to Tavern58 before going to the RPO. Our server Chris was on the ball, and could tell we were first time guests. The prices are great as is the ambience. We had the duck tortillas for appetizer and the only complaint we had was the tortillas seemed a bit stiff. However the main course was amazing and the drink recommendations pair well with the food. The serving sizes are generous as well. Spent roughly 50-60 dollars for a very nice dinner for two. Well worth it in my opinion, and we will be going back and telling others of Tavern 58.

Tavern58 is one of our go-to spots when we are going out for upscale food. The menu consists of many great favorites that are served with interesting twists and some entrées that would be specials in most restaurants. The specials are really imaginative. Definitely a place to treat your palate.

Food was great although a touch over priced. I had read several reviews which complained about small portion size but I didn't find this to be a problem. The pretzel bite app is delicious. Staff was in town and we came here after a long week of workshops. The bar is a great gathering place with a great selection of unique beers, not just the usuals. The menu has a varied selection of great food options that served the group well. Again, very unique stuff. Lastly the service was great from every single person who we interacted with. The management is doing well running a great business. Would recommend to others with high confidence.

We come in all the way from Hilton NY to have dinner at Tavern58 at Gibbs. The first time we went we found the taveren when we where at the jazz feasival. we cant aford to go all the time so we go on special times. This time we went to celabrate my fathers 91st Birthday. we are from Germany and came to have your Octoberfest. dinner It was awsome. The cucumber sald was out of this world. Tasted like back home in Germany. I gad sauerbraten. Loved it :-) my husband had the sausage plater. and my Dad had the pork. we all shared and we loved it hope you will do this again next year.

We never had a "bad" meal at Tavern 58 before last Sat night. My husband looked forward to sausage plate on Oktoberfest menu. Sausages were very "dry" and overcooked, as if they were perhaps precooked & just warmed up? One resembled a hamburger patty that was burned to a crisp. I ordered seared scallops w/ dumplings &root vegetables. Scallops very good, perfectly done;the dumplings very doughy, not cooked through, root vegs had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Since Tavern now has 2nd location, I fear food quality is slipping downward. My husband got apple strudel w/dinner. Worst we've ever had; didn't even finish it. Even our waitperson was very slow; previously waitstaff was excellent. I hope this was just an aberration.

had a couple problems--first-my daughter in law found hair on her salad plate. second-there were 2 really dirty water glasses (out of 5) on our table. and third-the server cleared a few dishes from another table, then piled them on the dishes in front of me--then cleared all. i think she needs just a little reminder to do things a bit differently. food was good. servers were friendly. the glasses and salad were quickly taken care of. first visit was really nice!, so we were surprised.

Been kinda of a hit and miss dining experience since the Clover street location opened. Not sure if the attention from the ownership in regards to meal prep has shifted to that location taking away from a great spot on Gibbs st. We've always enjoyed a night out to Geva and being able to grab a meal and a glass of wine at 9:30-10pm mid-week here where other city spots seem to close up earlier. Our experience was more on the plus side this past week after a Wait until dark even though the Calamari wasn't served very warm the service was good. Hopefully the new location hasn't taken away the focus on this city Gem

Tavern58 did not disappoint. Nice bar atmosphere: high ceilings, small enough to feel cozy, yet big enough not to feel cramped if it was really crowded. Good beer selection. Outdoor seating looked nice, but we sat inside. Great food! Good menu for both apps and dinner. Had good amount of options, yet not to many to get lost on the menu. We had a few desserts. They were pretty good. Only negative was two of us ordered espresso, and they were bad. It tasted like they just poured some weak coffee into an espresso cup. But overall great place! Definitely will go again.

Dining is an experience that satisfies the most basic of human needs, gas for the tank! But a diner wants the kind of gas that not only satisfies the stomach but potentially the soul! Dining out doesn't have to be extravagant to be an outstanding experience. BUT SIMPLE FRESH ingredients and pairings are ESSENTIAL. So don't serve a salad with wilted lettuce. And don't make me have to search for the dressing. If calamari has been added, I'd prefer it to be crisp and delicate. Not soggy and laden with oil. That said, the entrees were outstanding! The open faced ravioli was delicate and flavors complimented the dish impeccably! The grilled scallops were cooked to perfection~tender and revealing their own flavorful juices...and was that cumin?!

Went to Tavern 58 at Gibbs to celebrate our anniversary. The food was prepared exquisitely and served promptly by a friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Had the pumpkin tomato bisque with fresh crab and croutons, I complained that the only thing wrong with it was that I had o mind my decorum and not lick the bowl, I was reminded that was what the bread was for :-) Wife had the grilled seas scallops which were seared to perfection and melted on your mouth, came with homemade vegetable stuffed ravioli that were delish... I had the grilled sirloin steak that was beautifully seared and grilled to my liking... mouth watering... will definitely be returning.

We'd been told by several friends that this was a fantastic place and they were right. Excellent food - nice variety. Service was great. Server did not hover but was attentive. We ordered appetizers to share - chicken and cheese turnovers excellent and the fondue was amazing. Caesar salad was perfect for sharing. The mac and cheese was gooey and delicious as was the open faced ravioli. The surf and turf - moderately priced and delicious, especially the crab stuffed shrimp. Can't wait to go back.

I enjoyed the $25 prix fixe menu offered during the month of August. This inlcuded 3 courses - a wedge salad, a whole lobster, potatoes and corn relish and a dessert of grilled stone fruit and pound cake. I thought this was a good value. The lobster was large and they provided a big bib! the wedge salad was a decent size and very taste. The dessert was the least tasty of the meal, but was good for a little sweet at the end of the meal. My husband enjoyed his sirloin and they were very accommodating about substituting side dishes. There was a fairly good selection of $6.00 per glass wines - but unfortunately no Chardonnay, which is what my husband likes to drink.
