Girlfriends and I were in Chicago for a weekend and Tavern on the Rush was recommended by a friend. It was the perfect setting for a rare and special reunion of old friends. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious (lobster bisque!). It's clear that everyone working there takes much pride in their role, and I highly recommend Tavern on the Rush for a special evening out.

I did the Easter buffet and I was a bit disappointed in the amount of available choices. They did not have any sides other than salad and raw vegetables to go with the meat selections. The appetizer table consisted of only raw fish, so no choice for younger diners. For the price of this buffet, I would have expected more choices.

Note that with reservation you may still wait. Nice place even though dark. Amazing bread. Would definately return. Wouldn't order again: Onion soup, margherita pizza, side salad. Would order again: strawberry virgin daiquiri "refreshing", artisan cheese, baked potato and filet mignon "to try with peppercorn". My husband still loves their cajun shrimp.

My siblings and I took my mom for brunch as an early birthday present. We had mimosas and bloody marys and spent about an hour trying to decide what to order. We had the tuna avocado tartare appetizer to tide us over until we decided what to order. The tuna avocado salad was good, but it was light on the tuna and there were only a couple crostini, so it was difficult to share. My mom and I shared the stuffed french toast and the Eggs Lola. Both were exceptional. The french toast was rich and buttery and delicious. The service was very good and we didn't feel rushed to order when we couldn't decide what to eat.
